2.   Instrumentation and Systems Engineer, Lanka Hydraulic Institute Ltd (LHI), Sri Lanka from April 2003 to date.

This is specialized water engineering consultancy organization undertaking hydrologic, hydraulic and coastal engineering projects. LHI is equipped with high tech data collecting and recording instruments, about forty terminal computer network, enabling efficient data handling and numerical modeling and SQL server as storage. Responsibilities included:

 

·         Acted in the capacity of System Administrator Management, repairing, upgrading and trouble shooting LHI Computer Network (PDC Server, BDC server, Microsoft Exchange Server with Microsoft Outlook Express, Microsoft Internet Information Server with proxy server for web hosting (www.lhi.lk, intranet), Microsoft Remote Access Server)

 

 

·         Maintaining Linux Redhat sendmail server with Microsoft outlook express as Client end (Experience in installing Server)

 

·         Management and Trouble shooting of LHI database  (Access, SQL Server: MIS aspects and Data storage).

 

·          Management, Repair, Maintenance & Upgrading data collecting and recording            instruments (DGPS, Total Station,S4’s, RCM, WTG, Conductivity Meters)

1.   Design of Auto run soft ware CD

      Designed an auto run software cd for the VI ^th COPEDEC (Coastal and Port Engineers in     Developing Countries) conference which was held on 15 ^th August, 2003 to 20 ^th August, 2003 at BMICH under the supervision of Dr. Ranjith Galappatti

 

 

 

2.   Design of anti-windup circuit for a Digital Controller 

Designed a digital circuit to remove the saturation in Integrator controller in a digital controller   and tested with an Incubator system under the supervision of Dr. Sanath Alahakoon 

3.   Design of Digital controller for an Incubator

Close loop system with PID controller for any temperature controlling application sing DSP card  (Designed for final year digital control experiments) under the supervision of Dr. Sanath Alahakoon

4.   Analyzing Aliasing effect in a signaling system

Designed a method to observe the aliasing effect using LABVIEW card DAQ methods (Designed for final year digital control experiments) under the supervision of

Dr. Sanath Alahakoon

5.   Design of Universal Power Supply

Design of Switch Mode Regulated Power Supply that can be used in large fluctuation of voltage and large range of voltage using power MOSFETS with PWM driver technique
