Before College I worked at a few places while in high school. I started working right after I turned 16. 40 hour weeks were very common almost immediately. I had to save up enough money for my car, gas, food, and insurance.
Working my way through college, trying to receive financial aid, because money gets tight living on your own and paying your way through school. I have stumbled along the way, dropping out and taking another year off afterwards, But after waiting tables for a couple years I realized something. I was working at some of the nicest restaurants in Houston, making good money while I was at it as well. It was fun and a good experience because of a couple things I realized while doing it. If your only problem is money, you need to rethink your problems. And working with waiters who were older than my parents, I realized, that I did enjoy waiting tables, short hours and good money, but I didn't want to be 50+ still doing it. So I quit waiting tables, without another job, and enrolled in school. After school started back up I started looking for a job that would truly work around my school schedule. Because this is something I have set my mind to, and I will finish this time.
