Stations 00 - Des Allemands VFD

The Des Allemands VFD is located in St. Charles Parish along highway US 90. It is situated between the communities of Raceland and Paradis, LA. The area is comprised of residential, farming, rural, gas refining, and commercial and sport fishing. The busy BNSF railroad mainline crosses through the heart of the community that is surrounded by marsh, swamp and bayous. The Des Allemands VFD has the best equipped heavy rescue in the south Louisiana area and provides mutual aid to surrounds fire companies as well as other parishes during times of emergencies. Des Allemands is French for "of Germans" and is also notes as being the Catfish Capital of the World.


Rescue 729 is a 1999 Hackney heavy rescue assigned to the main station in Des Allemands, LA located in St Charles parish.

When R-729 arrives at the emergency scene it is well equipped to allow the emergency response team to handle any emergency situation. This March 4, 2000 shot illustrates what the Des Allemands FD has available to them when the time arrives to respond to those emergencies. Equipment compartments are located on the other side and rear as well.
