The majority of the worlds population has problems digesting bovine milk. Many times the problems are the result of intolerance to lactose (a milk sugar) or allergic reactions to casein. The casein is the mucous forming part of milk that is also used in the manufacture of glue, paint and plastics.
Milk-Liteâwhey based beverages contain the same whey protein as mothers milk, with the nutritional addition of trace minerals (electrolytes) and vitamins. Recent studies indicate that whey protein helps maintain a strong immune system. The same studies also show that casein protein does just the opposite. In the 8 grams of protein found in cows milk, 6 grams comes from casein and 2 grams comes from whey. Whey protein is the highest rated and most complete protein for human nutritional needs.
"Whey for good health and long life." - Hypocrates
The age old process of natural cheese making creates ten pounds of whey for every pound of curd. Our whey products provide an additional marketing extension for dairymen without the usual objections to cows milk. Milk-Liteâwhey has bridged the nutritional deficiencies of cows milk to produce a product extremely rich in nutrition, but lacking the negative factors attributed to cows milk.
Milk-Liteâwhey beverage help baked goods last longer and stay fresher. Whey is wonderful for baking and cooking needs and not only makes great pie crusts, but works great in soups, sauces, gravies and chowders. Our whey products wont curdle, scorch as easily or "skin over" on gravy. However, because of the lack of casein, the whey milk doesnt make instant puddings, instant custard or childrens white glue.
Milk-Liteâpatented whey milks are nutritionally formulated for the benefit of people. They are an excellent source of trace minerals (or electrolytes) and vitamins.
Milk-Liteâmilks are the original whey-based beverages invented in the heart of the Rocky Mountains by Roy A. Brog after 30 years of research. The whey-milk concept is so original that patents have been issued by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Roy became interested in nutrition and health at a young age while working in his fathers Swiss cheese factory in Star Valley, Wyoming. After studying cheese making and the value of whey for three years in Switzerland, Roy was convinced that cows milk was ideal for baby calves, which gain up to 600 pounds in their first year. He also realized that human nutrition requirements are vastly different.
Milk-Liteâcaptures the best part of cows milk in the form of whey. The fat and caseinate are removed or modified and the nutritional deficiencies of cows milk are bridged to produce a product extremely rich in nutrition, but lacking in the negative factors attributed to cows milk.
Each 8 ounce glass of Milk-Liteâwhey beverage contains 30% of the USRDA for calcium, and 25% of the USRDA for Vitamin A, B1, B2, B3, B12, C, D3 plus Folic Acid, Pantothenic Acid and Biotin. Each 8 ounce glass also contains 10% of the USRDA for Magnesium.
