Fragments
Daniel walked amound the stone writings in a state of awe.
    "So what does it say?"
Whipping his head around he gave Jack a small smile, "It may take a , um, a few minutes yet, if you wanted to explore further I wouldn't mind holding the fort by myself."
"Suit yourself bucko.  Okay gang, let's check the rest out."
Daniel watched as the moved further down the hall before looking back at the unusual hyroglyphics.  "Since the dawn of... time, now that's not it... life.  Since the dawn of life.  We the...  unloved... We the unwanted have watched.  Now the end... no, ah, battle... Now the battle has begun and a... power, no, no, uh... weapon.  And a weapon we have created through... altering our own... form.  We have played the role of our own God and brought forth the Phoenix.  She shall be called forth from the... seed to save all that is alive and good from the hands of the G'auld."
Forehead wrinkling he continued, "Though meerly a child at present we have... placed her on a planet that is called Earth... where she lives without worry or harm.  A world untouched by the evil.  And now as we die we are unable to unlock our weapon... unable to reach through the curtains of time and space... for all we... had we gave to her.  Pray you... who find our lasst words scrawled even as a race... our collective flave is extinguished by the enemy we so crave to die, find the... the key and... unlock her mind and abilities, so that the Phoenix may rise from the... ashes and come home."
Backing up Daniel sat down heavily, as if weighted down by the information he'd just come to understand.  Then, almost in the very next breath, he scrambled to his feet scanning for any indication of what the key was or where it might be.  But to his disappointment the rest was just a repeat of what he'd already read.
Grabbing his backpack he started after the others, keeping his eyes open for any sign of the 'key'.

The girl sat stiffly in her desk, listening to her elventh grade History teacher drawl on and a strange feeling shivered up her spine.  As though something unusual was about to happen, but she shook herself and told her imagination to lay off.  She needed to focus, after all she had a chemistry test next class.
----------------------------
Daniel caught up to the others easily.  They were peering around a large tomb-like room... a strange, flat alter  lay at it's center surrounded by six statues forming a octigonal shape around it, each was adorned with gold and silver.
Each was of an animal.  A monkey, owl, wolf, dragon, dolphin and a strange figure that if Daniel were to guess... was probably a chimera... a strange combination of human, golem and probably demon.  Each had a gem in the middle of it's throat.
"Hey Sam, check this out.  It's some kind of slot here in the center of this alter."
Daniel looked up and watched Sam move beside Jack.
"It seems to match this strange mechanical gem device, maybe, if I..."
"No Sam don't."  Both Jack and Sam looked over at him and then looked back.
"Too late."  Was all the Colonel said.
Daniel moved forward slowly and gazed down at the top of the alter.  "Well maybe it wasn't the key."
Colonel O'Neil's head snapped up, "Key?  What Key?"
    "Well..."
-----------------------------
The girl was walking home when the inner fire engulfed her and the truth became her reality.
-----------------------------
The alter glowed brightly and all four of them dived out of the statue's circle just as the light broke into the visible spectrum and filled the area inside the circle, blinding the SG tem completely.
