Expect the Unexpected
Sweat dripped down the side of his dark face and he used a cloth to wipe it off.  Despite the heat and the hard work he couldn't keep the smile off his face.  He loved the outdoors.  He always had enjoyed nature and he closed his eyes welcoming the cool breeze as he would welcome a lover's touch.  His eyes snapped opened as heat flarred in his cheeks.  His thoughts had been veering in that direction a lot more lately, no matter what he tried it still happened.
That was the unspoken reason why he had dragged Jonny on this trip.
"Hey Hadj.  How about if we rest for a while?"
Hadji looked up and smiled in agreement.  Jonny's face slowly went through a transition from tired to another expression he couldn't read and then a strained and very fake smile.
His heart throbbed painfully as Jonny hurriedly began digging through his backpack.  That was the other reason for the trip.  For some reason their relationship had begun to faulter.
Quietly he joined his friend and was relieved to see a clear pool of water not too far away.  "Hey Jonny.  What about a swim?"
    "NO!"
Hadji spun to look at his friend's pale white face.  "Why?  Is something wrong?"
"No.  I, uh, just don't feel like swimming."  Came his reply as he stared hard at his feet.
Hadji shrugged, "Suit yourself."  In one quick movement he removed his shoes, socks, shirt, and turban, then dove into the water.  Making up his mind he ran from the pool, grabbed Jonny and tossed him in.
"HEY!"  The blonde yelled as he surfaced, sputtering.
Hadji laughed as he leaned forward to give him a hand, only to be pulled in himself.  "Alright, my friend, I yield."  He coughed as he surfaced.  When he opened his eyes he found himself staring into blue eyes only inches from his face.  Before he had a chance to move Jonny wrapped a hand around his neck and put his lips to Hadji's in a kiss so passionate, Hadji found it difficult to think.  As it broke he automatically put a little distance between them and stared mutely at Jonny.
Jonny's face was flushed and he couldn't seem to look him in the eye.  "Hadji, I, uh, look I"'m sorry but you're wet, no shirt, gorgeous black hair... how did you expect me... I mean..."
Hadji groped for words.  "I wish I could say it was alright... It is but I'm not like that Jonny.  I'm afraid all you and I could be is just friends..."
    Jonny nodded solemnly.  "I know..."
"I didn't know.  If I had I would have been more careful of your feelings."

Jonny's blush increased.  "This won't change anything will it?"
He let out a sigh.  "I do not know, my friend, only time will tell..."
