Florida

After numereous trips to Florida I have finally gotten a chance to post some of my Bay Line shots. For those of you not familiar with Florida and the Bay Line, their home office is in Panama City on the Gulf of Mexico. Beautiful beaches are just across the bay in Panama City Beach, making it a vacation spot for many people from the New Orleans area. I recently returned from a trip to Orlando, but did not see too many trains. I may, time permitting, post some FEC photos from the Jacksonville area.

The Atlanta and St. Andrews Bay Line mustered together a varied assortment of power as seen here at their huge engine facility in Panama City, Florida. A GP38 leads two SD9's, a SD40 and another GP38.

A yard job passing the Bay Line tower in Panama City, Florida with a string of boxcars destine for the local papermill. The tower is now gone, wiped out by an out of control 18-wheeler, at least that's the story I have been told.

One of the home chopped GP-9's. Note the number boards are still on the nose.

One of the only engines with the company name spelled out along the long hood. This SD40 is mated with a GP on the right and an SD9 on the left.
