SANTA CLAUS


Little fairy snowflakes
dancing in the flue;
Old Mr. Santa Claus,
What is keeping you?
Twilight and firelight
Shadows come and go;
Merry chime of sleighbells
Twinkling through the snow.
Mother's knitting stockings,
Kitty's got the ball.
Don't you think that Christmas
is pleasantest of all?









OH MY GOSH!! I think I'm lost! I have been traveling for days
and I just can't find Santa! Where is that North Pole? I wonder
if there is a Days Inn or a Howard Johnson's close by? I am REALLY
getting cold here. After all, I am from southeast Louisiana, and I
just don't have the right kind of clothes for this climate. I guess I
should have called a travel agency for help. But NOOO! Not me.
I do this kind of senseless thing all the time. Oh dear, where is that
North Pole? I know it's supposed to look like a candy cane or some
thing of the sort. I really need to find it so that I can find Santa's
house. I promised him I would help him with the gift wrapping this
year. He always needs extra help. The elves just can't do it all, poor
darlings. There it is, but, oh my goodness!!! It isn't helping at all. I'd
better go find Santa's house all on my own, I guess. Wish me luck!

Well! Finally! Hello, ya'll! Looks like you are really busy, huh?
Not to worry! Maw Nette to the rescue! Just point the way & I'll
have those gifts wrapped and ready to load on the sleigh faster
than you can say "alligator sauce piquante"! Let's get wrapping!









I surely hope this is enough cookies for Santa. Maybe I
should have left more, because I know that the elves &
Reindeer will also be hungry. I mean, really!! Stop &
go, stop & go, all night long! Whew!! That would make
anyone hungry. Wonder if I should make a pot of nice,
hot, chicken gumbo with rice? mmmmmmm That would
surely warm them up. But, then, I'm afraid they would all
probably want to rest, and if they fell asleep...well, I think
I will just stick with the cookies, and invite them all over
to my house for New Year's dinner. Sounds good to me!
