Fatboy Slim - You've Come a Long Way, Baby
Norman Cook, a Brighton, the England-born musician
who has moved from Britpop to techno over the
past decade under various aliases. He's been
Freakpower, Pizzaman and Fried Funk Food, but today
he is Fatboy Slim. This album is his latest work,
and it's a fine work indeed.

Their View
On why he's changed his name so many times:
The reason I change is partly for legal reasons and record contracts, partly so I
can do slightly different styles of music without confusing people, so journalists don't know it's
me. People tend to have preconceptions about me. Fatboy Slim will probably be splitting
up...due to musical differences with myself. |
My View
You've Come A Long Way, Baby is an unbelievable
album. Norman Cook's music is an excellent example
of good solid techno. The samples are top-notch,
and the songs are great. I really like the
vocoder effect on the songs, especially on Kaliforia. |
