Allister's Review
*Here's a show review from former Alegria performer Allister Booth. This is his take on the show when he had seen it from the audience. Very interesting!
On August 3rd 2000, exactly seven years after I joined Cirque Du Soleil to work on Alegria, I was leaving. For my final night with the show I was given the privilege of watching the show. Over the years I have seen the show many times, and I enjoy it more each time. Having been with the show from the beginning I can watch each part of the show, and think of how it was created, and when. It brings back memories of original cast members who are no longer with the show, as well as appreciation for new members. Every person in the show, brings a unique style and perspective, that allows the show to continuously evolve and change. Also for this show people managed to work in special moments directed towards me. It was both sad and heartening to know that the show that had meant so much to me, would continue it's level of excellence after I left. People often ask me "How can you still like the show after performing it over 2000 times?" In the end I guess I don't really know myself. I just enjoy it every time I see it, and I don't try to understand why. I hope everyone who sees the show can enjoy it as much as I have.
