Wild-Fire #6

Hello everyone! Today is a new day with new blessings from our Father. Since we were little children, God has been giving us things and placing things in our lives. He does not force us to do anything with the gifts He gives us, He just lets us do as we please. In Genesis Chapter 25 the Bible tells the story of a young man named Esau. He was the oldest son as with that was given a birthright (a promise of the blessings of his father). Now one day Esau came home from a hunting trip, and he had been gone a very long time and he was hungry. Since he didn’t have anything to eat right away, he asked his brother for some of the soup his brother had. Well his brother told him that he would give him the soup if Esau gave up his birthright. Esau agreed and his brother ended up tricking his father into giving him the natural blessing. Esau still got the blessing from God, but that is way off the path of this message, so we won’t talk about that. So, Esau had this wonderful blessing and he sold it for a bowl of soup! I know you all think he was crazy for doing that, but let me ask you something. What are you selling your blessings for? I hear a lot about evangelist coming to churches and speaking words of ministry into the lives of young people; however, I don’t hear much about young people going out and getting ready for those ministries. Just because something is spoken over you, does not mean that God is just going to make you a missionary or evangelist or pastor. There are things you need to do to prepare for that ministry. Getting a firm foundation in both prayer and scripture should be the foremost thing you do as a young Christian. God may have called you to be a preacher, but if you spend all your time at football practice or dance team or band or whatever it is teens do today, how will you ever get to know about the Bible. That word from the evangelist comes with a price, and sometimes it is a very costly price. However, when it comes to working for God the more it cost you the greater your return will be in the end. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that God has called me to preach, but for years I didn’t do anything about it. I always thought it would come when I was older and knew more about God. One day I figured out that the only way to learn more about God was to start studying His word. I may not be ready to pastor a church right now, but I am doing what I can with this website to get ready. Who knows, maybe this website is all God will ask me to do, but if He wants more, I want to be ready. Moreover, always remember that no one is too young to do anything, it is just that you are not ready or it is not God’s timing yet. Thank you for hearing me out today. Jordan

Hello Hello. It seems like every time I come to do this I cannot decided which of two things God wants me to talk about. I think its good that God is giving me so many ideas, but the fact that they come at the same time is kind of tough. I believe I am going to go with a thought from the book of Isaiah chapter 55 verses 6 and 7. These verses say “6. Seek ye the Lord while He may be found, call ye upon Him while He is near: 7. Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.” First off, the words “abundantly pardon” actually mean “freely pardon” in a more literal translation. So, what is God saying here? Well to anyone reading this who is not saved, He is saying that He will forgive you of your sins if you turn to Him. Moreover, I think verse 6 speaks to all Christians in that we should seek the Lord while He maybe found. There are times when God is so close to you that you can feel Him, and I think those are very important times and the more of them you can have the better your life will be. That is why it is so important to live out a Christian life and not just be a Christian on Sunday. You maybe saved, but if you are hanging out with sinners, and doing what they do God will not be near. The Spirit of the Lord will go with you into an dark place to fight the enemy, but if you want to go to that dark place to have fun or whatever, you will go alone. We can really mess up our lives by doing things that push God away. Things like watching too much TV or spending too much time with unrighteous friends are maybe not sins, but they will hinder your walk with God. You know how Adam walked with God in the Garden? Man, that is the kind of relationship with God that I long for! Can you imagine being so close to God that He would come down and take walks with you. I know that God will not actually come down and take a walk with me because of the changes that have happened since the Garden, but His Spirit is here and I can lay back and rest in the presence of God. I think something all Christians should do everyday is just sit back and rest in God’s arms. Not saying anything, not thinking anything, not even listening to worship music. Just being open for God to minister to your life how He wants to. Well guys and gals I know today was a little weird, but God has been putting so many things in my mind, and I wasn’t really sure were He was going with it. I hope you got something out of the little bit I had to say today. God Bless. Jordan

Hello again! Well today is a new day with a new word from the Lord. Unlike most days, I feel that God is leading me in one direction today and I have a little understanding of where He wants me to go today. So let us begin. The things I will be talking about come from 2 Chronicles Chapter 20 Verses 1 – 25. O.K., I won’t be quoting much because its just so long, but this is what happened. In that time the children of Moab and the children of Ammon had come to battle against people of Israel. Now Jehoshaphat, the King of Israel, knew that the armies coming against them were great and they were in for a serious fight. Verse 3 says that Jehoshaphat himself was afraid of what was going to happen. However, instead of trying to figure out a way to win he began to pray, but he did not pray alone. He gathered all the people together and they began to cry out to God for help. If you look at verses 11 and 12 you will see that in their prayer, they realize that the battle is not between them and their enemies, but it is a battle of God and the armies are really coming against Him. The children of Israel knew that they could not win, but they also knew that the power of God could deliver them in an instant. This was a group of people coming against the children of the Most High God, and that is what they said in their prayer for deliverance. Well after they had been praying, the Spirit of the Lord came upon a man named Jahaziel, and he prophesied that God would deliver Israel from her enemies and that they had nothing to be afraid of. So instead of gathering their army and sending them out to fight, Jehoshaphat gathered a group of singers and he sent them before the army. This group of singers went forth saying “Praise the Lord for His mercy endureth forever.” (verse 21). Now when the armies of Judah came to the area when their enemies had been, they looked forth and all they say were dead bodies and verse 24 says none of them escaped. God went out and fought the battle that was His to fight in the first place and He delivered His people. He didn’t only deliver them, though, He also gave them the spoils from all the dead bodies and camps. This included riches and precious jewels. It gets better! The end of verse 25 says that it took them three days to gather up all the spoils! God not only delivered them, He blessed them tremendously for following His will. I’ve said all of that, to ask you this. Why are we fighting our battles? If God is God then why do we need to fight for ourselves? Is He not already the champion of every battle that is, was, or will ever be? If the children of Israel would have tried to fight with Moab and Ammon odds are they would have been defeated. However, they listened to the Spirit of the Lord and he won their battle for them. Things looked really bleak and many people in Israel feared defeat (even the king did) but when it looked like there was no hope they sent out a group of worshipers and God won the day. When satan comes against you and you battle him you get tired and weary, and your spirit just doesn’t want to go on, but when life seems its darkest just lift your eyes to Heaven and do nothing more than praise God, and He will deliver you. He will come to you in your time of need and He will cover you in any storm. In Acts Chapter 16, Paul and Silas were bound and chained in a prison. Did they wish they had never become Christians? NO! Did they complain? NO! All they did was pray and sing praises unto God and when they did this God delivered them. Just like He will deliver you and I if we forget about the problems we have and start praising them one with the answers we need. Thanks you guys and God Bless. Jordan

There are times when all you can say is “all is well” and I think now is one of those times. I don’t really have that much to say today, but I do have a few thoughts for both Christians and Nonchristians. For my fellow Christians, I would say to most of all we need to be strong. There are people all across this country looking for answers right now and we need to remember that we are the only ones that have real answers. You will have more chances to witness in the next few days than you have had for the past year! Everyone you talk to about this tragedy is a chance to share the love of God. Don’t look to yourselves in the coming days, look to God because He is the only one who has answers. To my Nonchristian friends, I would say to you that God is real! First off, I think some people will question God and ask how such a loving God could do this. Well He really didn’t do anything, God gives people choices and people decided to do an evil deed yesterday. God allows us to make choices and some very sick people make choices to destroy others. There is a hope, though, a hope beyond all others. God can bring peace and joy and comfort into the life of anyone who accepts Him into their hearts. He will not make us do anything, but once we accept Him, He will guide us on into the future. All I can really tell you right now is that God is real and He is the answer that many of you are looking for right now. If any people would want to talk more about this, you can e-mail me at doucjm2@its.nich.edu I would love to talk and pray with anyone who wants more info on how to come to the Lord. In closing, I would say to pray for the families of the people who were killed and to pray for the souls of the people who did this. As crazy as that may sound, we are still Christians and their souls mean so so much. We are supposed to be the love to this world and even though they must be brought to justice, we should still pray for them spiritually. The last thing I would say is that if there is any reason to smile today, its that many Christians are now home and standing in the presence of Our Father. However, the people who hijacked those planes have also met God and they are paying a price far great than the military could make them pay. Thank you, God Bless you, God Bless America, and God Bless Freedom. Jordan

Hello everyone. I will be doing something different with the Bible Study today. Tomorrow I will make another regular Bible Study, but for today I just want to say a few words about the events of this week. I am sitting here watching the national service in DC, and I see a group of people united in seeking God. Since Tuesday I feel for the first time in years we really are the UNITED States of America. There are so many stories of people doing everything they can to help, the people in both New York and in Washington, that we will spend years hearing them all. Just what has gone on in my local area has been amazing to watch. As I drove home from school today, everywhere I looked there were American flags. They were on cars, trees, buildings, and even people. At school today people made pins for everyone to wear and they walked around campus all morning passing them out. I noticed that whites, blacks, Hispanics, and everyone else were all wearing the same pins. They were all holding the same flag, and they were all Americans! A local TV station has been on the street raising money, and in just a couple of days they have raised well over a half a million dollars. The crazy thing is that the same thing is going on all across the country. There was a young boy (I would say about 10 or 11) who went and gave all the money he had in his bank because he said it was the American thing to do. Just your average Joe was walking up and giving literally 2 or 3 thousand dollars. There was a 4 to 5 hour wait to give blood in New Orleans on Tuesday. People are forgetting about themselves and looking to what really matters. That fact that you may be Democrat or Republican, Conservative or Liberal, and Rich or Poor really means nothing right now. We are a nation that has been taught class warfare; however, today if you live in a palace or a project we are all the same. People are saying they wish this whole thing would just go away and we could all get on with our lives. However, my prayer is that we never forget what we have learned this week. We are America, UNITED and STRONG!!! No act could ever take that from us! Lets not go back to our petty selfish ways a few months from now. We need to change our ways of thinking and once again stand as ONE people. Thanks for coming and remember tomorrow I will be going back into the Bible. I just felt like this is what God wanted me to say. I love you people and please continue to pray. Jordan
