A place where I am not uneasy sayin' what I feel.
The folks up there are honest, hard workin' and they're real.
I'm goin' up country where trees are all around.
The wind rustlin' through the leaves is the only sound.
A place where my neighbors will be the birds and deer.
To co -exist in harmony, where I will not know fear.
I'm goin' up country to make myself a home.
Goin' to live off the land, find backwoods I can roam.
A place where no one judges me and anger doesn't live.
A place that God created , a gift no man can give.
I'm goin' up country tryin' to find where I belong.
I'm not at home in this 90's world , my heart sings a country song.
I've always yearned for open spaces, range land miles wide.
Where I can wander free like my country spirit deep inside.
