Three words for
you, three words sum up how horrible the dubbed series of
Sailor MoonS and Sailor Moon SuperS. These three, horrible words
are:
SAILOR MINI MOON!
You guessed it. They took away Usagi and made her annoying, they
took Rei
and made her a b***h. They took Makoto and made her a
boy-crazy-masculine
girl. They turned Minako into a valley girl. They made Ami a
geek. BUT NOW
THEY'VE GONE TO FAR! Our precious Haruka, Michiru, Chibi Usa and
Setsuna
have been stolen away and turned into Americans.
I shall start with Chibi Usa/Sailor Chibi Moon. She is now as
annoying as
Serena, with the same transformation phrase as the original
series (Moon
Prism Power). She is now Sailor Mini Moon. When I first heard
this sound
clip, I started to scream at it to say "Chibi", not
mini, and to make
CHIBIUSA say what she's supposed to say. But now, all is lost.
Let's move on to Haruka. She sounds more like a girl than Michiru
ever did,
and she sounds, well, pretty bad. She has stupid phrases, and her
voice is
so high that they are never going to be able to make Mina and
Serena to fall
in love with *her* [thinking she's a male]. I figured that they
would cut that out anyway.
Michiru and Setsuna sound EXACTLY the same, and they totally
changed their
personalities. Michiru is not serious-but-in-a-cool-way, she is
now down to
the annoying-giggly-high-school-girl level. Setsuna isn't her
quiet,
mysterious self, she is actually quite loud and her vioce fits
Haruka
better.
Now to the Outer Senshi. They insisted on making the planet names
apart of
the attacks ("Uranus World Shaking", "Neptune Deep
Submerge"
and "Pluto Deadly Scream")* and now they all sound like
Radio/TV announcers. It is so
very annoying and stupid, not to mention disrespectful to the
original
characters, that I cried last night. Their introduction phrases
are really
unbelievable too.
Tuxedo Mask might as well be dead, because in the S movie, they
have him say
"Hohoho" because the theme is snow, and why don't they
shoot him and
bring back cool, calm and in control Tuxedo Kamen-sama, instead
of that annoying
prick Tuxedo Mask.

There are about 10 sounds to download here, all in one zipfile,
and I just
remembered one more awful point.
Luna sounds like an old lady when she turns into a human. When
she
transforms, she turns into a young lady who looks about the age
of Setsuna,
and the voice doesn't fit the character. In the original movie,
Luna has the
voice of a lady, but not a stupid british accent.
My (hopefully) final point is The Snow Princess and the Snow
Dancers. The
Princess sounds like a country girl some of the time, and
annoying the rest
of the time. The Snow Dancers, however, deserve to get in a line
and be
shot. And that's not because of the fact that they're the bad
guys. Three
words describe their voices: Xena: Warrior Princess, only twice
as annoying.
Some people tell me that I shouldn't complain: it's the only way
some people
will see this movie, you shouldn't complain because you wouldn't
do a better
job, why don't you dub it your self and you'll see how hard it
is, etc, etc,
etc. I Say: the original movie has been mutilated, and if i had
the time
and/or the money, I WOULD dub it myself and do a better job, too.
(Vic's note: It's not really the only way some people *can* see this movie, seeing as the subbed version was also commericially released by Pioneer. However, this version is more widely promoted and will be purchased by more American fans who enjoy the Dic Dub... But I digress...
*I still like "Uranus Yellow Earthquake Boom" myself... heh...it fits the dub more...)
