And he called it "Chops"
Because that was the name of
his dog, and that's what it was
all about.
And the teacher gave him
an "A"
And a gold star
And his mother hung it on the
kitchen door and read it to
all his aunts...
And he called it "Question Mark Innocence,"
Becuase that was the name of
his grief and that's what it
was all about.
And the proffessor gave him
an "A"
And a strange and steady look.
And his mother never hung it
on the kitchen door, because
he never let her see it...
And he called it absolutely nothing
because that's what it was
all about.
And he gave himself an "A"
And a slash on each damp wrist,
And he hung it no the bathroom door
because he couldn't reach
the kitchen.
Falling from the fifteenth floor
Diving into
nothingness, clinging onto
empty wind...
Half-full, half empty...
I needed more than this
you held my hand said
that it would all be okay...
i never thought you'd lie to me...
Getting closer, going faster
Striving, pushing, pulling, breaking...
Always dropping, never stopping
Sweet forever...
pulled me close there was something standing
between us?
Why didn't i see the signs when they
were posted so clearly along the roadside?
Was it me?
Was it you?
Tell me i need to know...
You said it was over and you
offered me a ride and so i
walked home...
You held me so tight i thought
i was safe
Your eyes pierced thru the darkness
of my empty soul
and a golden thread of thought connected
us so close...
i wonder how so much can be so wrong when so
much is so right...
You said it was over and
you offered me a ride and so i
walked home...
By Shel Silverstein
and so i put it on
Now daddy's saying
"Where the heck's the toilet plunger gone?"
Thanks for stopping by!
