Trademark Robert Garcia-Ness.
Ma, Zatto Kono Monya! That's a cool victory pose in '95 that can be misinterperated as "Ma's got the corn and beans, yeah!" If you have read the Sakazaki family profiles, not much is left to say about the great Robert Garcia (Roberto if you're Mr. big). Robert is actually the most well rounded of the Kyokugen fighters when it comes to mentality. Ryo's obsessed with fighting, Takuma's senile, and Yuri's kinda... stoopid, not stupid, stoopid. Robert knows how to fight, and knows how to live it up as well.
Robert has been set for life since he was born into the Garcia family on Dec. 25 of that year. He has never had a job or anything, and his dad, a friend of Takuma Sakazaki, let Robert take classes there, probably as more of a day care type thing. He never expected Robert to smite, strike, and ignite (Maybe he doesn't ignite). A hidden way to help the financially impaired Sakazaki's maybe? haha. When Takuma disappeared, Robert sort of had to take care of the Sakazaki kids. Now I know it doesn't make any sense, since Robert is only a year older than Ryo. but what else did the practically-carried-through-life Robert have to do. Now, unlike a lot of people, Robert likes the fact that he's well off, because he knows how to occupy himnself. That and he's trying to be a master of the Art Of Mac aside from the Art Of Fighting. That's right, Robert is a real lady killer, sometimes. A lot of the times his plans are foiled when he says something stupid, or Ryo busts him by yelling out something Robert said aforehand. Simple example? Take note of Roberts cool calm style in '97/'98. Then he goes of and gets hit and grunts like a choking goat. Dang, Robert.
Robert, even though he sometimes tries to live life through money, is a very faithful friend Women, even thought I make it seem like it, aren't everything to him. In fact, when Yuri was kidnapped, Robert voluntarily helped Ryo retrieve her, even though Ryo was more in debt to him than vice versa. Or maybe because he liked Yuri (more on that later). When things came up elsewhere (Art Of Figting 2) there was Robert, now he's got enemies like Eiji Kisaragi (Who was also born on Dec. 25. Hmmm...). Then the KOF '94 came up, and Robert was not about to refuse his invitation with the Kyokugen team. He was going to do a favor for all da ladies and let them see him fight. Actualy, even though he is kinda conceited, he does have this deep respect for Kyokugen, so his '95 entry isn't just foolish fudd either. I like his '94/'95 outfit though.
Then '96 rolls around. Yey, a change of pace, Robert has a new outfit, and a new member of the team. Contrary to Ryo, who doesn't like Yuri fighting, Robert is delighted because well, he was tired of the strictly strict Takuma (who was never far off anyway). Man, even Robert got a little miffed (and he always keeps his cool) when the Kyokugen dojo of powderpuffs-compared-to-Yamazaki students was attacked and thrashed. Now it's all about serious embarassment. The Kyokugen was better than this, and news gets around thanks to clucking life time channel watching gossiping hens who take tennis classes. The KOF '97 entrance was inevitable. Robert does enjoy the KOF tournaments. Kinda something to do. So when his team enters '98, he just has to go, that, and he has to show Takuma a little somethin' somethin'. Come to think of it, he and Yuri have never fought Takuma have they.
Robert: "AAAHH! What the Heck Happened here? There we go, much much better (that was one scary chin)".
According to Anime: Nothing is in accord with the KOF storyline in the AOF anime. Yes, the Art Of Fighting anime seems like a cheap character rip movie from a company trying to get viewers, yes I too was a sucker and bought it because of its AOF label (and I would buy it today even after seeing it because it's KOF related). Robert constantly hits on King (believable) but King wasn't disguised as a man at all in the movie, making it uncredible in the first place. So Robert hits on her through out the whole movie. He also talka funny, in sections. He's got a decernt voice actor and decent lines, but the rest of the movie just doesn't support him, yet YOU MUST RENT THIS MOVIE, it's so off it's funny. You know what I mean... old buddy?
Annoying guy with no life:"What's with Robert and Yuri's relation ship?" Well, my good man, it's really easy to see by answering these questions three.
Question First: What does Robert think of Yuri? Well, i'm sure she's been a victim of his charm-style passes once or twice, but I don't know... he thinks of Ryo as a brother, so it's logical to infer that he MIGHT think of Yuri as a sister.
Question Second: How do their personalities compare? Well, they both like fun, but Robert keeps his cool, and Yuri goes all out and zany. Robert, though sometimes incautious, thinks things through most of the time. Yuri, though, is not as quick at the wit as Robert, or even a rain drinking-and-then-drowning-on-the-raindrops turkey.
Question Third: What's the biggest hint on their opposite gender social status?" In Art Of Fighting 3 (yes there was one, but it be a flop) Robert was on a date, but interrupted by an old girlfriend asking for help on this big ol' problem, which starts the story line. only Robert was with Yuri of all people. No one really knows if this was a friend-to-friend or boyfriend-to-girlfriend date or not, so it's up to you to make that call. Don't think it's official or anything though.
So look at the facts above and E-Mail me what you think, or anymore facts supporting your view or whatnot. mine? I don't think so.They're just incompatible to me that's all. No offense to those who think otherwise.
Well, I have to say, Robert Garcia is one of my best characters when playing KOF '97. In '95 he was almost THE BEST, but that's old now, ah but it is nice to play that totally different game once in a while. Back on track, Robert kicks both butt and the actual kicks in general. He is a tad weaker than Ryo, but has almost two times the range. his wonderful fwd & B (light kick) Kick which can be comboed into anything (I don't think the Kyokugen Ryo Ougi will combo. His Hien Shippu Kyaku is wonderful, the weak one knocks down in one hit, saving you from corner traps, the other one hits 4 times, and if blocked, will not leave you open that much, (unless the opponent is in a corner). His two uppercuts? Well, the punch one is stronger, but the kick one is easier to connect with. I also use the kick one to move backwards when a computer stands in front of you waiting for you to move so it can conveniently guess exactly what you're going to do and counter. The Ryu Geki Ken is the best of the three of that style move on his team. It lasts a real long time and he leans into it so he's hard to hit. it can be comboed, and it's hard to roll through. It works Chizuru Kagura over rather nicely also. The Regular Haoh Sho Ko Ken DM is moderetaly quick, but the powered up SDM version is almost to good and is very easy to hit with since it travels so fast. It's a projectile, so it's almost unstoppabvle, almost. The special kick from the air (forgot the name) is not as good as before since it doesn't knock down like in '95, but it can be comboed off of some air attacks for unsuspecting fools. Also use it very soon in a jump to confuse uppercutters. Best DM? The Muen Shippu judan Kyaku, since its damage dealing is very well spred, that way it will always knock of a decent amount of damage, no matter what part of the move you hit with. The SDM version also has very high priority and invincibility. Donnai Ya?

Robert: "So how was that? I personally think people take things way to seriously. Who's up for a drink?"
