Richard Meyer! I think it's fun to say it as one word. Richardmeyer. yeah. Personally, I think of him as a guy who gets screwed a lot (like Terry messed him up in the second Fatal Fury anime movie and how his club burned down in one of Bob Wilson's endings). Remember the guy floating around in Big G!'s (Goenitz's) background? Richard Meyer. It's probably not true, but it's fun to make stories about. So, I personally like Richard Meyer.
Question first: Who the heck is Richard Meyer?
Answer: Richardmeyer.
Question Second: Where did he come from?
Answer: Fatal Fury 1
Question Third: What's his significance?
Answer:Well, he was just a participant in KOF '92 with no evil ulterior movtive (or any motive at all).
Question Fourth: Did he do anything cool?
Answer: Well, he, at the time, had a very original hairstyle. He is the original founder of the Pao Pao Cafe (remember Kyokugen '94 level), he also was the first video game character to touch on capoeira's crazy style. Yes, he uses capoera. Sure, Blanka from street fighter uses it, but can you tell? NO! You can with... Richardmeyer (say it in a deep voice).
Okay, he's an average guy who decided to join a KOF tournament back when Geese was holding them and they were getting to be known. Since he wasn't evil or anything, he welcomes the guy who defeated him in the tournament. It's unconfirmed wether it was Terry, Andy, or Joe, but one of them did, and... Richard Meyer holds no grudge. His Cafe, the well know Pao-Pao is in the ring of the global hang out's of SNK characters (FF/KOF/AOF), so everyone likes Richard Meyer.
Who is one of Richard Meyer's closest friends? Wilson... Bob Wilson. In fact, Bob Wilson owns the first of Richard Meyer's chain (actually, the only of the chain), the Pao Pao cafe 2. Since Bob's into dancing and all. It's also safe to assume that Richard Meyer influenced the Duck King, causing him to open up his place with King, now having a Bar/Dance hang-out (Women's Team KOF '95 level). Dang... Richard Meyer's all in it like Bennet.
Note: Bennet doesn't exist even as a character, so don't be confused.
That's about all I know about Richard Meyer. Little? Yes, but if you know more, you can always tell me.
According to Anime: Richard lost to Terry of course, (in a very strange manner, nonetheless). He got one of the longest fight scenes in that section (Terry had been playin' aroung, as andy immedietaly took out Hwa Jai). Richard taunted a bit, but that was all he got until the third movie, where he shows up at Duck's place (Duckey if you're Billy), obviously without a grudge, and comments on how Andy's lookin' sharp. The best part is, when one of the antagonists show up, you get to see, all standing together in battle stances with a scared Mai (in Andy's space of course), Andy Bogard, Jubei Yamada, mThe Duck King, Richard Meyer AND Billy Kane. Slick, huh?
