King! Just all named King. No last name.

Strange....

What can I say, she is King. The usually straightforward bartender, King goes for anything she wants because she doesn't need to depend on other people like some people ("Andyyyy..."), but she, the courter or Andy Bogard, will remain unnamed. the only thing King hasn't kept on is her promise of not teaming up with Mai.

King has had a few members on her in her time. A total of four, Yuri Sakazaki for two years, Mai Shiranui for five years, Kasumi Todo only one year and the neato Chizuru Kagura for two years. King has liked all of her team members and grew to be really good friends with each one. Even though she always said she'd get new partners after fighting woth Mai and Yuri, truth is, she can't bring herself to do it because of their friendship, and if it wasn't for Takuma Sakazaki's zany all-of-a-sudden leaving the King Of Fighters after '95, Yuri would probably still beon the team. Lets go through the breakdown, (hafta do it because Kings membership profile can be quite confusing reading it from here without visual aid).

Kings Teams:

'94 Mai,Yuri

'95 Mai,Yuri

'96 Mai, Kasumi

'97 Mai, Chizuru

'98 Mai, Chizuru

King is actually a fighter high in demand. Her strange past has developed her into a decent fighter who can really rock over Rugal in a fight. She actually according to the Art Of Fighting series, was a bouncer in a bar around Southtown (that crazy city). She hid the fact that she was a woman (Ukyou kuonji) so that she would be taken seriously, but after kicking a few big surly goons out of the bar, I think she would have still been taken serious enough, but she decides to keep on truckin' as some crazy looking Macaulay Caulkin-ish blonde beater upper person thing.

King gets caught up in the wrong group of people, ending up working for Mr. Big. Wrong guy to work for mister, or missus, whatever's preferred at the time, but Big's got two kyokugen dojo disciples on his bourgoisse tail. Those kugen kids would be equivalent to Ryo and Robert, and during a fight with one of them (Robert if you like funny remarks, Ryo if you one someone to faint) King was exposed as a woman, don't ask me how. I don't know. Anyway king's duties with the Bigster ended there and it's on to the King Of Fighters.

SNK probably felt as if they were wasting a perfectly good character since they now had a new woman character to work with (in a time of few female characters) I don't know much about Art Of Fighting 2, if King was in or not, but in KOF '94, she's back and she's pledging female (kinda reminds me of Ellen Degeneres). King hasn't since needed the guy thing. In '94, her goal was simple, prize money. Same in '95 but maybe a little more. She was quite satisfied with fighting alongside Mai and yuri and then going back tothe bar for drinks on the house. She now works with the Duck King in their own bar (since '95) and has her share of people who routinely drop by for a swig or two (Ryuhaku Todo, Heavy D! etc.)

According to Anime: king was strict evil in the anime, which was fun to see. She worked in the deep downs for Mr. Big, and she was already known to be a woman. That anime needs to get it's facts straight. It's just so funny though. King is in the end defeated by Robert anyway, heh heh heh. AND she wasn't "exposed".

It's kinda like King has something to prove, because she keeps coming back. In '96, she decides to travel the world via KOF with Mai (again) and Kasumi, kind of like a farewel trip, for she will not be entering in '97, due to her wanting to spend more time with her pale and sickly brother Jean. Well, the '96 hostess needs a team, so through some trickery, Chizuru ends up recruiting Mai and King, also sendin poor little Jean a plane ticket so he can travel the world with big sis and see her get beat up all the time. Now King has to advance somewhere in the tournament to fully take advantage of Kagura's generosity. in the end, Jean is happy, so happy that he feels he has to coo up to all the women and run of with bikini tops (Can't Yuri ever keep her shirt on). So King spent some time woth poor pale, sickly, and perverted Jean. '98 is probably Kings thanks to Kagura, now entering with her once more- no reason behind it this time. After all, there is no story line.

What? Tips on playing? I can tell you that King is a kick boxer, and that se spent a lot of childhood time in Thailand. So now you know to use lats and lots o' kicks! Her tornado kick is actually good defense for the front, even though it is an air counter. The trap shot just has to be comboed, and if you need to shoot, use the double strike unless they're just standing there close enough to jump in and bop you out of the long recovery time. Supers? Sorry. Sad. Her ultimate trap shot can BARELY be comboed, and the Illusion Dance is only good if you use it hunting air style, right before they connect with a jump kick. It has some invulnerability before it so you can take advantage of an aggressive person. (If you're slick, use it as kyo tries to burn you with a serpent wave). In return, you must defeat Rugal.

King: "Sometimes you need to forget troubles, like Mr. Bigs goons, and have a drink."
