What You See When You Fight Kim:
Now you know a person dedicated to justice is someone who will adopt two convicts to reform them and train them FIVE YEARS in a row. That man is Kim Kap Hwan. He likes the justice, but he also likes the martial arts. He is a Tae Kwon Do master, and his legs are deadly. Unlike the lot of them, Kim beefs up his arms to so he can use them in all two of his punches (gish...).
Kims first appearence was in Fatal Fury two, which is equivalent to KOF '93. He wanted to fight the "Wonderous" Terry Bogard, and he also felt something strange about Krauser, who was doing a decent job hiding his evil intentions. As far as I know, he never appeared in Fatal Fury again, unless it was a no-storyline special, anyone know the story?
Anyway, SNK realized that they had a good thing going on and decided to put Kim in the King Of Fighters '94. Kim must of said something about their mama's during the programming because they stuck him in with two of the most oddball-est Korean guys. Must not like them Korean's. Kim's purpose is the same practically in every KOF tournamentm reform these evil people. Chang Kohan broke out of jail to terrorize the streets, and Choi liked to terrorize cute li'l kiddies. Kim wasn't their mama's so he wasn't havin it. It wasn't the Korean way.
Anyway, Kim left home one day and came back with a big sluggish brute, Chang Kohan. And soon after a couple 'o' bonks on noggins, Choi. Let us consider the responsibilities. Now his family is in danger of being sliced up the Yin AND the yang, AND he's being eaten out of house and home.
Kim had two sons. I say had because after Chang and Choi came, it's like he has four. You gotta give props to a guy who will adopt two convicts to protect his country. Now all of his parental responsibilities went from changing diapers and helping with homework to saying, "hey you, leave that dog in one piece" and "that's about enough out of you fatty, get your face out of that cake." Then he beats them up (that's called persuading) and then says "sulk in defeat you bad person you."
Kim is not very nice to bad people(not even to his own men), in fact, if it were up to him, he would "persuade" each and every one of them (Orochi all up in his house). He figures he's already put his house in enough danger. The poor guy thought he succeedes in '94, but overheard Chang and Choi talking about evilness and starts all over again. Same thing in '95 through '98. Chang and Choi hate Kim's sesame street personality and all they really want to do is just get away from him.
Kim and his cute li'l kiddies
One thing to be cleared up. Kim likes the stress he goes through because it's for a good cause and he trains more now. He in no way hates his life or what he is doing. To many people think that he is depressed or something. I read in in fanfics and on sites. Don't forget.
ACCORDING TO ANIME: Kim has a friendly rivalry with Terry. He lost a fight to him on the '95 docks and hopes to fight him again someday. He also had a grueling battle with a souped up Cheng Sinzan (That fat mess 'o' things).
All in all, Kim is a very humble, big-bird like guy with shiny Mr. Clean teeth. I just hope that he comes through this OK. Remember the old SNK tradition, the more evil you are (or stupidly tenaciously Crack-Addict like, using genocide cutters all over the place), the more you come back to life. All of the good people always stay dead. (SCURVY!) Take care Kim. (Not like he's in any danger with those skills).
The playing of the at the arcade is not often. Why? Because people want an ending but don't want to have to play Chang and Choi to get it. Kim is good with his kegs and long range power kicks. Combo the flip kick all over the place, play like your only goal is to see the shiny teeth he has. Use him with Joe, Benimaru, or King. Joe and Benimaru will get you an ending in '97('98?)
