Sign's that he's letting go....
This guy endures, even though he SHOULD have been mad in '97, you couldn't see his "First Fight" intro because all the official T.V. stuff was right on him if he was on the right side (that's when the butterfly steals the show). Rant all you Chin fans (I myself want to know who you are).
Chin kinda lags behind his team, and for those of you who wonder, "Why is HE with Athena (you don't say Sie because you're afraid you'll offend him), he trained the two, Athena and Sie. So when Athena gets this inkling of evil residing in the KOF '94 tournament ('92 was all about the goodness, oh yeah), Chin just kind of follows her in, and Sie's right behind him. Mysterious Man: "I thought you said CHIN lags behind." Quiet Mysterious man, nobody asked you. Same goes for '95, as Athena's still got that kick on evil she needs to execute. '96 is a different story. Athena and Sie have become quite used to KOF, and it promotes Athena's singing (not the even MORE shrill '98 voice!!!). Chin once again lollygags. '97 he seems to think his li'l desciples are getting a bit to cocky, as they (Athena) have gotten quite popular, (others respect Sie enough, realizing he's a fighter, not an idol, heh heh heh...that ought to cover it up quite nicely...), but Athena recieves a letter that proves otherwise. A little girl that had given up hope persuaded it to sell itself back to her when she saw Athena in the KOF '96. Realizing that even young women and such could overcome, she EVEN is trying to learn to walk (she's wheelchair bound). '98, Chin probably lets them enter since the '97 deal kinda proved him wrong.
Mysterious Man:"You now, that Chin's awfully good for an old man." Shut up Mysterious Man, no one cares about your two cents. But good point. Chin was a very skilled and noble warrior in his day (I wonder what he looked like... strangely, I imagine Hongou from Bushido Blade 2...). He was VERY good, taking people out left and right. Kind of a justice fighter himself you might say. But then age crept up. Unfortunetaly for him, the effect was VERY drastic. He couldn't keep in shape, and he shrink down all wrong looking and stuff. He kinda trained, but his heart wasn't in it, for now, it was in drinking. He had just let go.
Mysterious Man:"Hmm.. well he sure perked up. I figured he'd have died." You seem to think that people care what you think huh Mysterious Man? Well no one does. Mysterious Man:"I do." HEY! You don't count. Mysterious Man:"Nuts..." But anyway, Chin sure perked up. I figured he'd have died. But one day, a child came to him. This was Sie Kensou. Something happened to his dad to where he couldn't take care of him, so Sie went to Chin. Chin decided to teach Sie Martial arts, thus Chin begins training again (Sie saves the day). Sie is kinda reluctant to do all the practicing, but he's grateful to Chin, who has something else to do now (doesn't he have a wife???). If only Sie had the heart for training he did.
Well anyway, Chin was still kind of a justice fighter. When some big mean guy challenged he and Sie, he accepted. This was the training Sie liked, only the guy looked so funny, Sie couldn't stop laughing, and this distracted Chin. Dame Ja Korya. They were taking some brutal blows (Sie's still laughing.) Then comes Athena, and with her natural gift for Psycho Power (Bison? Rose?) takes big bully man out. Easily (probably hurting Sie and Chin's pride in the process). But seeing two good hearted people, Athena wants to join them so they can train together. This is the Umph Sie needs, since he's got this big crush on Athena now. So Sie trains diligently with Athena, and Sake (what my sister and I call Chin) is content. They train silenty, not stirtin' no one in the mountains, until they recieve KOF invitations for '94 (how, I don't know).
Chin and Co. fight diligently in '94 and '95. '96 it seems they have a new drive. I don't know if Chin knows, but he and his desciples, who are his joy and pride of sorts, were chsen by Chizuru for their will to do good. in '96, at the end, heir drive is renewed. Athena knows more of the evil Orochi power, and that's enough for Chin to want to help her still (even though he would have anyway). He just didn't think that the now public and televised KOF of '97 was the best was to do it. He didn't want big-headed students. But the letter convinced him otherwise. I know he and his crew took part in the hindering of Orochi somehow. Probably beat someone up.
All Sake cares about is his desciples. Naturally, he and Sie get the wrong idea when Athena takes an interest in Kyo's powers (Chin: "Whatever makes her boat float.") He used to constantly have to bug the lazy Sie, but that's over since the arrival of Athena. Without these two, he would have withered away. Some say he ees himself in Sie. Others say he and Athena are lovers ("nookie" to those others, I call them REALLY big fools). It seems his childhood is recreated within the two. That of a proud warrior who's capable and fearless (Sie) and also one who fights for nothing but goodness and right and justice (Athena). Chin's also got a strong faith in mankind that he instills deeply in his students, that man won't succomb to all the evil and wrong things. Mysterious Man: "Athena hates it when Chin drinks a lot." Stop That! But it is true. Athena knows the constant drinking is bad for his health. Party pooper. I can see him and Sie come sept. 23 when Sie turns 21 (according to some sources). I don't see why he drinks now, since he's got no excuse to waste away his life and try to forget things. HE also smokes heavily! Quite the sturdy body he's got there, bing over 90 years old. Oh well.... Maybe he'll give his spot up to someone a bit younger one of these days.... I'd like to see his students fight with someone new. I don't hate Sake, it's just that he doesn't fit on his team (kinda). That's what bothers me.
That and his Omega Red fighting style. Not literally, but in the sense that humans aren't very good with him, but the highly censor-ridden computer is TOO good. I'll just say the basics. Combo the "Dance" DM, counter jumps with the fire breath one, use the drunken sizzy state style purely for the flying elbow, rely on his little air jump attack's auto-block, and combo the dance version for a free 12 hits (see, that's as wrong as the Hakuro no Mai!). The ground tec isn't very good, and the rolling punce goes under some things. Combo the Gourd attack (1 or 2 hits depending on distance) if you're not close enough for the cheap 12 hitter. That's about enough cheapness for today. Whew!
-Sho Reppadan-
Chin: "Drinking and smoking... I am not a good example at all."
Mysterious Man: "No kidding."
Chin: "Hey, can't you read! No one cares what you think! Silence, fool!"
Mysterious Man: "But I'M not looking idiotic in the above picture."
Chin: "That's 'cause you're not in it.... HEY!"
