Your Beginning: Nothing By Chance

By: LaVenia Boswell

Dear Ones,

Have you ever wondered why you were blessed, or, uh, humm . . . shall we say challenged by the family or people you were placed with at birth?

Didn't have a silver spoon to eat with? Froze on cold nights, hungered, was abused physically, mentally, sexually, emotionally and/or spiritually?

Had a wonderful, carefree childhood?

You think you had a great family, few trials, sharp intellect, minor illnesses, no lingering physical pain or major heartaches because God was dazzled by your pending righteousness? I don't think so. Neither were you dumped with the Family From Hell because God plainly hated your guts.

Nope, it doesn't work that way. Believe it or not, but He absolutely, without a doubt, had a purpose for choosing the environment you were placed in as a child.

Whether you feel you were blessed or cursed, God carefully chose the initial path he wanted for your life.

Why? To fulfill His purpose and will. And . . . just perhaps . . . to help make you a stronger person than you would be otherwise, hopefully one filled with compassion and faith in Him.

(Ia 41:10) "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."

(Isa 48:10) "Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction."

(1 Pet 5:10) "But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you."
