Setting: Streets of Seattle (During “Yet Another Government Secret.”)
Mad Dog agents are chasing a young German Shepherd/Labrador cano-sapien named Xander. He stopped under a bridge.

XANDER
(SLIGHT ENGLISH ACCENT/COCKY)
Well guys, there is no reason to stop the party now; especially I got you where I want you.

The agents whip out their tasers. Xander begins to fight them then he runs again for a few meters and he paused as more agents came. They point their tasers at him.

VOICE
(FEMALE, NORTHERN CANADIAN ACCENT, SMUG)
When is Gregon going to learn?

The agents turn around to see a female malamute cano-sapien (Vera) and a male Rhodesian Ridgeback Cano-sapien (Padfoot).

PADFOOT
(AMERICAN ACCENT, COCKY)
No matter how many guys he sends after us, you’re always out numbered.

The three cano-sapien split-up and each have some agents going after them. They begin to fight. Xander grabs a pole and knocks down several agents. Padfoot hits them with a metal pipe. Vera karate kicks all the agents after her.

PADFOOT
(PROUD)
Huh!

XANDER
(EMPRESSED)
Nice.

VERA
(HAPPY)
Well thank you very much.

XANDER
(BLUNT)
Where the hell were you?

PADFOOT
(BLUNT)
You said you would meet us at Queen near Crash.

XANDER
(BLUNT)
That’s where I figured they would catch up with me.

VERA
(ANNOYED)
That’s where we were waiting.

PADFOOT
(ANNOYED)
How could we guess you would beat us there?

The agent behind Padfoot and Vera gets up and picks up the pipe Padfoot dropped and begins to take a swing with it.  Xander raises his hand and electricity lightning flows through it and he throws it at the agent and he collapses on the ground.

PADFOOT
(BLUNT)
Ten bucks.

XANDER
(CONFUSED)
What?

VERA
(DEMANDING)
Come on pay up.

PADFOOT
(BLUNT)
We agreed that the first one to use their powers pays the other two ten bucks.

XANDER
(SARACASTIC)
I guess I should of let that guy crack you in the back of the head.

VERA
(BLUNT)
A bet, a bet, pay up.

XANDER
(BLUNT)
You’re lucky I am a dog of my word.

He hands Vera ten bucks and when hands it to Padfoot he shocks him.

PADFOOT
(ANNOYED)
What was that for?

XANDER
(SMUG)
I’m sorry; I must have rubbed my feet on the carpet.

PADFOOT
(BLUNT)
I never would of taken you for a sore loser, Xan?

XANDER
(SMUG)
Keep it and I will show you what sore really is.

PADFOOT
(UNIMPRESSED)
Oh, really, that sounds like a threat.

VERA
(BLUNT)
Let’s play nice boys.

SETTING: RRHQ (One month and a half later)
Drifter is playing a shooting game in the Rec room while XL766 in on the virtual reality simulator (virtual kill game). XL766 takes off the helmet.

XL766
(ANNOYED)
That’s it. Pretending to kill thing is not like the real thing.

DRIFTER
(BLUNT)
That’s why it is called virtual reality. Terminator 1&2 are on TV now, wanna watch.

XL766
(HAPPY)
Damn right.

Blaze comes in.

BLAZE
(BLUNT)
Wassup.

XL766
(BORED)
Pretty much bored. No missions lately.

DRIFTER
(BORED)
Nothing on both Mad Dog and the DAH.

BLAZE
(BLUNT)
I know what you mean, nothing on Parvo or Storm. Drifter, why don’t you take Lily on a date?

XL766
(BLUNT)
You got to get to know her better. Besides, she is having your kids.

DRIFTER
(ANNOYED)
Only because that Dr. Gregon did it to her. I don’t know why everyone in the base wants us to go on dates. We have nothing in common.

Drifter turns on the TV just as Terminator is beginning. Lily strolls into the room.

LILY
(EXCITED)
Alright The Terminator. Turn it up.

XL766
(SMUG)
You were saying.

SETTING: Old Building in Seattle
Vera is entering the building carrying groceries. The building is empty.

VERA
(BLUNT, TO HERSELF)
All right, I got Pedigree for Padfoot, Iams for me, Kibble and Bits for Xan and I got milk bones, rawhide, steak, and pizza.

Suddenly something breaks through the window and the room is instantly filled with smoke.

SETTING: RESTURANT IN SEATTLE
Drifter and Lily are going on a date just to make the members Road Rovers happy.

LILY
(HAPPY)
Colleen told me a few days ago that there just one pup. It is three, two boys and a girl.

Lily suddenly clenched.

DRIFTER
(CONCERNED)
What’s wrong?

LILY
(SMILES)
One of them just kicked me.

Both of them look out the window just as a female Golden Retriever/Collie runs by. She was followed by Mad Dog agents.

DRIFTER
(SURPRISED)
Oh shit that girl is in trouble.

Drifter gets up.

DRIFTER
(PROTECTIVE)
Stay here. I’ll be back.

SETTING: OUTSIDE RESTURANT
Drifter is running after the agents that were after the female cano-sapien. The agents have her cornered in the alley.

FEMALE CANO-SAPIEN
(SCARED)
Please let me go.

The agents just laughed and they flip out their tasers. The Cano-sapien backed in the corner.

FEMALE CANO-SAPIEN
(SCARED)
Please.

Drifter comes into the alley.

DRIFTER
(BLUNT)
Do you know it’s not nice to scare a girl?

The two agents whip around to see Drifter. One of them runs toward him with the taser crackling. Drifter easily takes the agent down and stuns him with the taser. Drifter then goes after the second agent and whips him against the wall, knocking him out.  The female cano-sapien is still cowering. Drifter walks up to her.

DRIFTER
(REASURING)
It’s all right now (he realizes who it is)—Breeze?

BREEZE
(BLUNT)
Drifter?

DRIFTER
(BLUNT)
It’s me. Where are Xan, Vera, and Padfoot? I told them to look after you.

BREEZE
(BLUNT)
I left on my own.  I just came back to Seattle to find them again.

DRIFTER
(ANNOYED)
I got to have a talk with the four of you. Come on, I got to get my friend at the restaurant.

A black van passes them as they leave the alley. When they get to the restaurant, Drifter and Breeze’s eyes go wide. The place was a destructive mess. Lily was nowhere to be seen.

DRIFTER
(FRIGHTENED)
Lily! Lily!

SETTING: BACK OF BLACK VAN
Lily is in a cage that is small enough that she only sit in it. She is drugged. There is a second Cano-sapien in the truck (Vera). She was in the same type of cage and drugged as well.

SETTING: OLD BUILDING
Xander and Padfoot are cleaning up the mess the Mad Dog agents left and preparing to leave.  Drifter and Breeze enter through the hole in the Mad Dog agents left.

DRIFTER
(BLUNT)
Daddy’s home.

Xander and Padfoot turn around to see Drifter.

XANDER & PADFOOT
(SURPRISED)
DRIFTER!!!

XANDER
(BLUNT)
We got a big problem, sir. Mad Dog captured Vera.

DRIFTER
(ANNOYED)
Well, they also captured my girl—em—my friend.

SETTING:  HEAVILY GUARDED WAREHOUSE
Mad Dog Agents, German Shepherd Cano-sapiens, Doberman Cano-sapiens, and Rottweiler Cano-sapiens guard the warehouse. Inside Lily and Vera are waking up from the drugs.  Suddenly one of the agents grabs Vera by her long white fur on her head and shoots something into the back of her neck.  Vera growled and barked as the implant went in.

VOICE
(CALM)
We don’t want you to use your powers to escape, do we? The implant will make sure won’t freeze the bars to escape.

It was Dr. Gregon. Both Lily and Vera growl at the sight of him. In his hands he is holding Lily’s collar and tags. He looks at Lily.

GREGON
(CALM)
So, you’re a Road Rover now but not anymore. You are going to your true home, both of you, once I capture the other three AWOL soldiers in the area.

VERA
(GROWL)
Not bloody likely.

SETTING: ANOTHER OLD BUILDING
Xander, Padfoot, Breeze, and Drifter are setting up shop and working on a plan to find and rescue their friends. Drifter can’t use the tracker because the taser in Lily’s collar was not functioning.

PADFOOT
(EXPLAINING)
Mad Dog Agents are at every sector checkpoint. We haven’t been able to leave this sector in weeks.

XANDER
(EXPLAINING)
They drive around in a black vans with the words Extreme Dog Groomer labelled in gold.

DRIFTER
(BLUNT)
They must have a base of operations in the area but where.

PADFOOT
(BLUNT)
I can get my contacts around the city to help.

BREEZE
(CONFUSED)
How are you going to that? You can’t leave the sector.

PADFOOT
(BLUNT)
But my friends can.

SETTING:  ALLEY
(Atomic Dog by George Clinton is playing in the background) Padfoot and Drifter are entering the alley. There are three dogs in the alley.

PADFOOT
(BLUNT)
Wassup my peeps. Do you guys remember Vera?

The dogs bark.

PADFOOT
(BLUNT)
Some guys took her. We need to track her down. Relay that to the others.

They bark and run off.

PADFOOT
(BLUNT)
Now all we have to do is wait.

SETTING: WAREHOUSE
Both Lily and Vera are asleep in the now darken warehouse there are guards watching from the catwalk and rafters.

(FLASH BACK)

SETTING: MAD DOG TRAINING FIELD
The trainees are using paintball rifles on the training field. Two units were pit against each other in a mock city. They were timed.  The first team that has three marks on each of their members lost. The other team also had one of the other’s team’s youngest members as a hostage and they had to rescue.

Vera, Padfoot, and Xander, lead by Drifter had to go after one of the wolf units. The wolf unit had Breeze (when she was a puppy) and they had a wolf pup as a hostage. Xander was left behind to guard the hostage while they went after their captured teammate.

The three of them stayed low to the ground to avoid detection from the other unit. They knew where their teammate was in the area. They slow enter the building. One of the wolves came out nowhere, shot Vera twice and Padfoot once.  The group quick shot the wolf three times and he was now out of the game.

DRIFTER
(TOUGH)
One down, three to go.

VERA
(TOUGH)
What we need is a distraction.

PADFOOT
(COCKY)
Got it covered.

Padfoot creates fireballs in his hands. He throws one fireball in one room and the second in the other.  The rooms erupt in fire and smoke drawing one more wolf out. Vera and Drifter shot her and she is out of the game.

PADFOOT
(BLUNT)
Come on lets go get, Breeze.

Padfoot runs up the stairs.

DRIFTER
(WARNING)
Padfoot, wait!

Drifter and Vera quickly run after Drifter and three shots are fired.  Padfoot is lying on the ground hurt with three rubber bullets beside him.  In the shadows, the wolf unit leader was grinning. He was holding Breeze in the chokehold.

DRIFTER
(ANNOYED)
That is against the rules.

WOLF UNIT LEADER
(DEEP VOICE, GROWLS)
I make my own rules, Drifter.

Drifter growls. He lunges at the Wolf Unit Leader. WUL throws Breeze out of his way to protect himself. Vera catches her and runs out of the building with her.  They quickly run to their base of operations. When they enter they see a wolf stunned on the ground with the three marks on him.

A siren howls to indicate the training game was over. Mad Dog agents rush in to immobilize Drifter and the Wolf Unit Leader.  The agents came into their build as well to get the stunned wolf to a medic. Padfoot was taken to a medic as well.

(FLASHBACK END)

SETTING: WAREHOUSE
Same as before.

Vera slowly opened her eyes. In the shadows, Vera can see an Affenpinscher hidden. She recognized her, it was Neffa. She was one of Padfoot’s stray dog friends. Vera spoke in quiet barking.

VERA
(BARK)
Neffa sent by night bark my location.

Neffa nodded and quickly ran out.  Lily was awake now and she saw the whole thing.

LILY
(WHISPERING)
What is the night bark?

VERA
(WHISPERING)
You were awake the whole time.

Lily nodded.

VERA
(WHISPERING)
It is a way to quickly sent news across an area. Dog barking to other dog until it reaches it’s destination, it this case my buddies Padfoot and Xander.

LILY
(WHISPER, EMPRESSED)
Neat.

VERA
(WHISPER)
So what unit were you in?

LILY
(CONFUSED, WHISPER)
Unit?

VERA
(WHISPER)
You’re from Mad Dog, right. You had to be in a unit.

LILY
(WHISPER)
I escaped when I was a pup, they captured me for some special project, and I was rescued. They just capture me again.

VERA
(WHISPER)
Okay. My unit leader mentioned something about a special project. He was a stray Gregon picked up. Gregon pull him through extra training and the experiments. My unit leader was the one the planned the escape. More would of made it out of it wasn’t for this wolf unit’s leader and his team.

(FLASH BACK)

SETTING: AROUND THE BASE
Groups of Cano-sapien are hijacking trucks in the vehicle storage. Some are running into the field past the wire and climbing the fence.

VERA
(VOICE OVER)
The escape went well at first. Until the loyal to Mad Dog units came and the attacked the ones that were escape. They were lead by the wolf unit leader. He was one of Gregon favourites and he does anything to be the best of the best. He cheats and he is ruthless.

LILY
(VOICE OVER)
I get the point.

Vera is hiding in the back of the truck with Breeze, Padfoot, and Xander. Drifter was in the working on hot-wiring the truck.

VERA
(VOICE OVER)
While hiding in the truck I saw him bring his unit and others and began stunning the dogs trying to escape.

LILY
(VOICE OVER)
Why only stun?

VERA
(VOICE OVER)
Only the agents at the base had access to the live rounds. My unit managed to get away. No one knows how many managed to get out.

SETTING: STATE LINE
Drifter is leading Xander, Vera, Padfoot, and Breeze off at the state line.

(FLASH BACK END)

SETTING: WAREHOUSE
Same as before.

VERA
(WHISPER)
Since the leader of our group was more valuable to Mad Dog and he don’t want us in danger he let us out once we were miles from the base. We haven’t seen him since.

Lily clenched.

LILY
(PAIN)
Ouch.

VERA
(WHISPER, CONCERNED)
What’s wrong?

LILY
(PAIN)
I’m pregnant and I just had a contraction.

Lily does her special breathing.

VERA
(SHOCKED)
Oh my god. I hope that message gets to the others quick.

SETTING: ROOFTOP
Padfoot was sitting on the roof with Breeze. Suddenly barking is heard from a distance.

PADFOOT
(SMUG)
We got contact.

Drifter comes on the roof as Padfoot is translating and Breeze is writing down what he says.

DRIFTER
(BLUNT)
Where is she?

BREEZE
(BLUNT)
She is in Sector Five in a warehouse. German Shepherds, Rottweilers, and Dobermans guard the place.

PADFOOT
(BLUNT)
It should be easy to spot.

DRIFTER
(BLUNT)
Good work. I have a plan.

SETTING: Streets
Padfoot and Breeze are walking the streets in the wide open. Suddenly a black van pulls out of an alley and follows them. Then it stops and the two agents come out. They point their weapons at them.

AGENT # 1
(TOUGH)
Not so fast.

BREEZE
(BLUNT)
Okay.

Breeze and Padfoot move very slow.

AGENT # 2
(TOUGH)
We meant stop entirely.

While the agents handcuff Breeze and Padfoot, Drifter and Xander sneak into the back of the van and closed it behind them. The agents escort them to the van and open the doors. Using her telempathic powers (control emotions and thoughts), Breeze made the agents think the van was empty. The agents force them in the small cages.

When the agents start the car Drifter gets up and points a gun at the head of the driver. Xander pulled the second agent into the back tied him up and gagged him and stuffed him in the cage.

XANDER
(MOCKING MR. T)
How’s dat feel for you, fool?

Drifter moves the gun to the neck of the driver.

DRIFTER
(GROWL)
Take me to the base of operations or else.

SETTING: OUTSIDE WAREHOUSE
The van stops far from view of the guards. Drifter and Padfoot tie up and gag the driver. Xander and Breeze stayed behind in the van to watch the outside of the building. Drifter and Padfoot look at base and see the guards.

PADFOOT
(SIGNING)
This is not going to be easy.

DRIFTER
(BLUNT)
We need a little help.

Drifter takes out his video/comm. Unit.

DRIFTER
(BLUNT)
Drifter to Canis. Come in Canis.

CANIS
(AMERICAN ACCENT, OVER COMM)
Canis here. What’s up Drifter?

DRIFTER
(BLUNT)
Patch me into Space Rover -- Cerberus and get me Climber.

CANIS
(OVER COMM)
Okay.

Moment later Climber comes in.

CLIMBER
(SOUTHERN ACCENT, OVER COMM)
Hey, Drifter.

DRIFTER
(BLUNT)
I need a Satellite video feed of Sector Five of the old warehouse.

CLIMBER
(OVER COMM)
Which one?

DRIFTER
(BLUNT)
The one with a lot of Cano-sapiens in the area.

CLIMBER
(OVER COMM)
Okay.

The video feed over the building is shown on the video screen.

DRIFTER
(BLUNT)
Thank you.

The line goes dead. They look at the screen.

DRIFTER
(SMILING)
What we need is a distraction.

PADFOOT
(SMILING)
That’s what I was thinking.

Padfoot creates fireballs and throws them at the barrels of flammable liquid. The barrels explode.

SETTING: INSIDE THE WAREHOUSE
Lily is still in pain. Vera is helping her through it. Both of them hear the explosion.

VERA
(BLUNT)
Padfoot is here.

LILY
(PAIN)
How can you tell?

VERA
(BLUNT)
He likes to blow things up with his fireballs.

LILY
(PAIN)
Okay.

SETTING: OUTSIDE WAREHOUSE
The guards are rushing to put out the fires that Padfoot set. They don’t notice Drifter and Padfoot sneaking in.

A guard spots them at the back and points the gun at Padfoot’s head.

GUARD
(TOUGH)
Don’t move.

Drifter punches the guard. He gets knocked out.

DRIFTER
(ANNOYED)
You got to be more careful.

They open the door and look inside.

DRIFTER
(SHOCKED)
This place is huge how are we going to find them.

PADFOOT
(SMUG)
My secret weapon.

Padfoot kneels down.

PADFOOT
(WHISPER)
Neffa come here girl.

Neffa comes out of her hiding place.

PADFOOT
(WHISPER)
Can you take us to Vera and Lily?

Neffa quietly barked and went inside the building. Drifter and Padfoot followed.  Soon Vera and Lily came into view.

VERA
(BLUNT)
Padfoot! Hey Drifter!

LILY
(PAIN)
Drifter.

Drifter rushes to Lily’s and unlocks the cage. Padfoot unlocked Vera’s cage. The alarm goes off.

DRIFTER
(DEMANDING)
We got to get out of here.

Drifter picks up Lily and begins to run. Padfoot, Vera, and Neffa follow.

SETTING: OUTSIDE THE WAREHOUSE
The guard that was punched out earlier gets up.  Padfoot punched him as the group runs by.

PADFOOT
(ANNOYED)
Go back to sleep.

The guards begin to shoot at them.

DRIFTER
(ANNOYED)
Where is Muzzle when you need him?

They continue to run until they reach the barbwire fence. The guards surround them.

VERA
(SCARED)
Great we’re trapped.

Suddenly an arc of energy hits the guards. It was Xander. Breeze was cutting the wire that was connecting the fence to the poles. She created an opening. At the same time she using her powers to make the guards blind. Drifter and the others escape through the opening. They take the van and escape.

SETTING: ROAD ROVER HEADQUARTERS (SICKBAY)
Drifter is waiting outside the maturity ward. Colleen soon comes out.

COLLEEN
(ENGLISH ACCENT, CALM)
You can come in now.

SETTING: LILY’S HOSPITAL
Lily is lying on a hospital bed and she is exhausted. Beside her bed there are three nursery cribs. Inside each is a puppy. There are two boys and a girl.
