SETTING: PUPPY MILL in ENGLAND
In this place there are dozens of dogs on this place.  All the dogs are forced to breed.  In a cage with a German Shepard and a golden retriever, the golden retriever bore four pups.  The pups' names were Rebel (Male), Bud (Male), Lily (Female), and Fetch (Male).  When the pups were born, a man took the German Shepard to another cage with a female dog.

(FADE OUT)

Six Weeks Later

(FADE IN)

SETTING: PUPPY MILL
A man is putting the pups into a crate.  The pups barking and yelping for their mother as they take her back room.  The mother is barking and yelping for her puppies.  The door slams behind her.

SETTING: WAREHOUSE ON HARBOUR
Rebel and his siblings are taken to the back of the warehouse.  Rebel looks out of the box through a knothole.  He sees other dogs and two people talking to each other.

MAN ONE (GERMAN ACCENT, BLUNT)
Yeah these dogs are on the way to the US.

MAN TWO (ENGLISH ACCENT, BLUNT)
This is the tenth shipment this year.  Why does the US Government need them?

MAN ONE (BLUNT)
Beats me.

All the siblings heard the conversion.

REBEL (BARK)
We are in big trouble.

BUD (BARK)
That's for sure.

LILY (BARK)
I'm scared

FETCH (BARK)
What if they are going to evil experiments to us.

REBEL (BARK)
Get real Fetch.  I heard they banned animal experiments.

Lily is whimpering.

LILY (WHIMPERING)
I want mom.

Rebel lies beside her.

REBEL (BARK)
We all do.

They took the crate with the pups aboard the waiting ship.

SETTING: NEW YORK PORT
While the crate with the pups was taken off the boat, the crate drops and smashes open.  Rebel and siblings (but Fetch) run away.

MAN ONE (YELLING)
Quick grab the pups.

Rebel, Lily, and Bud rans away fast as their legs can take them.  Fetch's was out cold. Rebel ran so fast and far up the street that Lily and Bud couldn't keep up.  Minutes later he was lost and alone.

SETTING: NIGHT TIME
Rebel found a box to sleep in and hide from the street dogs and he fell asleep.

SETTING: MORNING
Rebel awaken by the sound of garbage cans falling.  He looks out and he sees a big black and  white dog looking through the trash.  The dog soon notices the puppy in the box.

DOG (BARK)
Hey kid you can come out.

Rebel comes out.

DOG (BARK)
I haven't seen you around here before.  What's your name?

REBEL (BARK)
Rebel.

DOG (BARK)
Mines' Drifter.

(FADE OUT)

Six Months later (three and a half in dog years)

(FADE IN)

SETTING: STREETS OF NY
Drifter and Rebel became a team.  Drifter taught Rebel the ways of the streets, how to get food, where to hide from humans.  They met up with Bud sometimes who was also a street dog.

(FADE OUT)

Days Later

(FADE IN)

SETTING: STREETS
Drifter and Rebel are running from the Animal Control van.  They run into an ally.  Soon they were trapped.

REBEL  (BARK)
We're trapped.

Drifter sees a hole under the fence.

DRIFTER  (BARK)
Not for long.

The animal control people exit the van.  Drifter goes under the fence.  Rebel goes under but he gets stuck.

REBEL (BARK)
Why does this always happen to me?

DRIFTER (BARK)
Hurry kid.

Rebel is struggling over the fence.

REBEL (BARK)
Why doesn't this ever happen to Lassie?

DRIFTER (BARK)
Lassie is not real, kid.

The animal control people grab Rebel.

DRIFTER (BARK)
Come on, kid.

REBEL (BARK)
I am not going there.

They pull Rebel.

REBEL (BARK)
No Waaayyyyyyy!

Rebel is pulled back to the side with the animal control.  They quickly put a collar with a leash and a muzzle on Rebel.  One of the people opens a compartment on the van.  The other AC person lifts up Rebel and puts him in and the door was closed and locked.  The AC people get in the van and drives off.

SETTING: DOG POUND
Rebel is lead to the back of the pound to be checked out by a vet.  Rebel is whimpering.

VET   (AMERICAN ACCENT, BLUNT)
Easy boy.  No one is going to hurt you.  All you need . . .

Rebel looks at the vet.

VET (SLOW SOUNDING)
Are some shots.

When Rebel heard that he tried to get up and runaway but the vet's assistant held him down.

VET (BLUNT)
Wait I forgot to take his temperature.

The vet takes out of a thermometer and lifts up Rebel's tail.

REBEL (THINKING)
Don't tell me he is going to stick that thing up my . . .

SETTING: POUND
Rebel is a cage.  Outside the cage he sees other dogs.  Every day he sees families looking for a pet.  All of them past his cage without taking another look.  Rebel lost all hope of getting out.

One day a man came in looking for a dog.  He stopped at Rebel's cage.

MAN  (ITALIAN ACCENT, BLUNT)
Hey boy. Come.

Rebel comes up to the cage door.  The man sticks his hand in.  Rebel sniffs it and wags his tail.

MAN (BLUNT)
I will take this dog.

SETTING: Cabin in the Rocky Mountains
Rebel is now two years old (fourteen in dog years).  He is eating his dinner while his master is talking to his boss.

BOSS (GERMAN ACCENT, BLUNT)
Is the weapon almost ready?

VICTOR (REBEL'S MASTER) (BLUNT)
Yes the weapon is just about ready.  The Cano-mutants won't have a chance against us.  How is
the other secret weapon going?

BOSS (BLUNT)
It is going fine.

Rebel started barking.

VICTOR (YELLING)
Shut up mutt.

Rebel still barks.

VICTOR (BLUNT)
Just a minute.

Victor takes Rebel outside.

SETTING: Outside
Rebel is looking around and exploring.  He sees a Cano-sapian looking at the ranch.  Rebel starts to bark and run toward the Cano-sapian baring his teeth.

VOICE
(AMERICAN ACCENT, SCARED)
Rebel stop. It's me Drifter.

Rebel stops in his tracks.

REBEL
(BARK)
What happened to you?

DRIFTER
(BLUNT)
I made a change by getting through a transdogifer.

REBEL
(BARK)
What's that?

DRIFTER
(BLUNT)
It's a machine that turns dogs into Cano-Sapiens like me.

REBEL
(BARK)
Cool.  How did you find me?

DRIFTER
(BLUNT)
I was here for the last few months making a base of operations. I saw you and your so-called master.  I think you need a fresh start.  I sort of a super hero.  Do you want to join me?

SETTING: DRIFTER'S BASE OF OPERATIONS
After he convinced Rebel to join him, Drifter brought him to his underground base.  There a computer (that is linked to the Road Rover/Strayer Network), two cycleborgs and two transdogifers.

DRIFTER (BLUNT, LYING)
I stole them and the plans from Parvo.

Rebel was in one of the transdogifers changing into a Cano-sapian.

SETTING: Over Period of time.
Over the next year and a half (ten and a half in dog years), Rebel and Drifter worked together on
missions.  They work behind the Road Rovers and Strayers backs.  Being careful not to be seen.

SETTING: WARE HOUSE COMPLEX
Rebel and Drifter are hiding in the shadows while the Road Rovers are facing Cano-mutants.

DRIFTER

REBEL

Drifter entered the building. Rebel stayed behind and watched.  Minutes later the building blew.

SETTING: NEARBY
The Road Rovers saw the building blew too.

HUNTER
(AMERICAN ACCENT, SHOCKED)
I won't have predicted this.

COLLEEN
(ENGLISH ACCENT, SHOCKED)
Blimey

SHAG
RA RA RA (I hope no one was in there when it blew)

Exile sees a figure running away from the scene.

EXILE
(RUSSIAN ACCENT, YELLING)
Lookie over there.  Baddieski getting away.

Muzzle is growling.  Hunter unstraps him.

HUNTER
(HAPPY)
All right buddy, muzzle em.

SETTING: Nearby
Rebel noticed that the Road Rovers seen him.  He runs for his cycleborg.  While he is running, he sees a Rottweiler coming after him.

REBEL
(SCARED)
Holy shit.

Rebel gets on the cycleborg and takes off.  Muzzle is unable to keep up.  He coughs in the dust.

SETTING: Over the next months
Rebel is shown helping all the Road Rover and Strayer teams in the shadows.  He is rarely seen.

REBEL
(VOICE OVER)
Over the next year I helped all the Strayer and Road Rover teams.  When I was seen, I
disappeared.  I made a few allies along way but that's another story.

SETTING: Cliff overlooking mountains

REBEL
(VOICE OVER)
I call myself Lone Dog now. I don't know why but it sounded cool.  I help the Road Rovers and
Strayers.  That is all I have to say about that.

This story is dedicated to the cousin's dog Buddy.  He is the dog I got the idea for Rebel/Lone
Dog.
