Tribbles
appeared first in the 
episode"The Trouble With Tribbles". they are soft, furry warm blooded animals sold by the intersteller trader Cyrano Jones. Tribbles are bisexual and cappable of being reproducedat prodigious rates,althogh they will stop breeding whenever food is withdrawn. Cyrano Jones gave Lt. Uhara at Deep Space Station K-7 in 2267. 
The Klingons killed off the tribbles, and they were thought to be extinct until the crew of Deep Space Nine brought them back from the past
