This page is intended to inform and educate those of you who may not know what Wicca is. Any questions you have that are not addressed on this page you can post on our forum and either Morgana or Cielidh will respond to you right away. Below are a few things that are very important in understanding Wicca.
1.Wicca is in no way related to Satanism in it's beliefs, practices or rituals. In the Wiccan religion there is no such entity as Satan therefore seeing as how we do not believe in it's existence we could not possibly worship it.
2.Wicca is a polytheistic religion, which means Wiccans believe in the existence of more then one deity or god. As opposed to monotheism, which is the belief, that only one deity exists and that one deity is believed to be Creator, and Protector of all. Examples of monotheism include Christianity, Judaism, Islamic and many others. Polytheism can be found not only in Celtic religions like Wicca but also in Native American religions and dating back to the Roman Empire and their deities.
3.Wicca is a nature-based religion. All of our religious holidays are directly related to natural occurrences such as the coming and ending of the seasons, as well as the spring summer fall and winter equinox or solstices.
4.Wiccans live by one basic creed and that is "And it harm none, do what ye will." Which basically breaks down to if your actions hurt no living thing then it is righteous and good, but if in doing something you will hurt another living being then your actions are not justifiable and should not be done. The harm can be emotional or physical it is not referring exclusively to physical harm.
5.Wiccans also believe that whatever you do in life will return to you threefold, meaning if you do something good for someone else you will be visited by good fortune three times as good as what you sent out. At the same time, whatever you do that is of malicious or harmful intent will also return to you three times as strong.
6.Wiccans believe in 2 main deities a god and a goddess. The god and goddess are known by many names… the god is often referred to as Pan, and the goddess is often referred to as Diane.
