~The Animal
Marsh~
Trevalan and Lynara
A long trek through
what seems like the thickest underbrush and growth in the whole
lagoon has left you breathless and tired. Your clothes cling to
you and you feel less than perfect. Sighing loudly you pick up
your feet out of the water-soaked earth of the path and step onto
the ground of this new land.
To you complete relief it's a little more solid than the path.
You can hear the faint squishing of your feet but other than that
it's comfortable. The grass covering the ground is an odd
greenish-blue colour. It's long in some parts and shorter in
others. Your eyes are draw to a huge leafy tree in the middle, or
what seems like the middle, of this new found land. Not quite
sure exactly what it is you start towards it.
Once you're closed in on it a little more you notice sounds.
Churping, whistles, trills, all diffrent sounds from inside the
leafy canopy of the large tree. Now you stand right in front of
it, it's huge!
It's trunk alone is thicker than five people, and it reaches up
to the most leaf filled canopy you've ever seen! The branches
spread out and block out the sun from where you're standing.
A slight clicking sound from below you makes you look to the
ground.

A brown and teal mini stands at your feet. You bend down and smile at it. You put your hand towards it and it churps, and starts to sniff it. Instantly another darts out of a hole in the bottom of the tree trunk.

It stands in front
of the other and hisses at you. The first one nips at the
second's wings, obviously a little annoyed. Suddenlly a mental
outburst of voice fills your head.
~Trevalan!
Calm down! The
visitor means no harm, i'm not a hatchling any longer you know.~ She
nips at his wings once more and lands on your shoulder, smiling. ~Greetings! I am Lynara and that
'brute' is Trevalan, he takes the job of being an older brother,
though we are not related.~
Trevalan churps and lands on a low branch on the tree in front of
you, regarding you with eagle-sharp eyes, picking up you every
movement. Finally he speaks as well,
*We are in a way
connected, though not by blood.* he
states, *When
Narixil chose her number, to get an egg, she was allowed two of
them. So she chose another number, but from a diffrent clutch. We
are both animal mini's from the same village, it was quite
something Seerenth told us.*
~Yes it was indeed.
But you see this tree? It draws forth all injured or sick animals
to us, and we heal them. It provides shelter and saftey.~
The two mini's
fill your head with tales of things that they've done, to help
animals mostly. They explain how they have come to be known as "The
Swamp Vets", but humans and mini's a like. It must be
an interesting life these two lead. Perhaps you'll learn more of
this later.
