"The under 9's first match of the season was at home to Minchinhampton
At the start of the match the 'red devils' entertained the crowd with their
usual rendition of the Haka, and with that the heavens opened. The rain
didn't stop for the whole of the match, but then neither did the tries
.
Longlevens got off to an impressive start looking the superior of the two
teams, and held it together for the whole 20 minutes, with 7 fantastic tries
being perfectly set up and scored. This was their first game involving
scrums, rucking and mauling and full blown wipe-outs, and they all looked as
if they had been playing like this forever.
Minchinhampton never really looked as if they had settled into the game,
although they did score a consellation try in the second half.
This was an excellent start to what is sure to be an excellent season for
the Longlevens U9's Red Devils"
