This is some information about mystical creatures and fairies that I bet you didn't know. =*)
~Sprites~
Sprites are the smallest of the fae. Dancing is thier love. The doormouse and cricket are thier friends. When night comes they curl up inside of thier favorite flowers. They make thier clothes out of spider silk and often help the other fae by collecting herbs when they are needed. If you are quick you might just catch them riding on a dragonfly.
~Pixies~
Pixies are very tiny fairies. They are very small, winged creatures that resemble petite elves. They are very shy, but love to play with each other. They often travel and live in large comunities, or as small groups. Living among the tree tops, they are the protectors of birds. Many of them are skilled in the healing arts. As they love to share, give and recive gifts, they tend to hold gatherings simular to potlucks.
~Nymph~
Nymphs are the Greek nature spirits that inhabit plants and other natural features. All take the forms of beautiful maidens. Each type of feature has a different type of nymph associated with it. Dryads inhabit forests, each has its own tree, and will live as long as the tree does. Napaeae inhabit similar areas but do not live in a particular tree, but stem from an entire grove. The Oreades live in the mountains. Nerrids live in water and are the most malicious of the Nymphs they have a habit of entrancing and stealing handsome men, who may never be seen again above the waters. All nymphs have voices so beautiful they are often mistaken as the musical sound of the wind.
~Mermaids~
A marine creature with the head and upper body of a fair human and with the lower body of a fish. They can be found in seas and lakes, or lying on a rock and combing her hair with one hand while holding a mirror in the other. Mermaids sometimes foretell the future and are often accompanied by seals.
~Sylph~
They are the guardians of winds of the earth.They love to dance,sing and call for the winds and storms. Thier duty is to heal and to protect others and keep an open mind and heart is very important to us. They like to aid others by helping them create their dreams,and keeping power of music alive. Slyphs are also able to stir new ideas and inspirations of thought. Slyphs are very shy but love to hear and play music. Slyph perfer mountians and thicked forests. Slyphs are known by some as windsingers in many cultures. Slyphs origin came from Greece and ancient Egypt. Nymphs are distantly related.
