My beautiful Horsey

This is a page dedicated to my horse, Cairo.

Cairo was my 15 year olf Egyptian Arabian gelding. My mother bought him as a going back to school present [or it could be seen that way] before my sophomore year in high school. We bought him from a woman named Anita who had to sell him due to a hurt back. When I bought him, I had intended to train him as a jumper, but soon after we bought him, we discovered 2 things. First, that no one wants to train an Arabian to jump, and second, that he had arthiritis in one of his legs which only allowd him to jump under 2' safely. Not only did I learn that most people don't want to train Arabians to jump, they certainly do not want to even handle an Arabian with a personality that could be considered "stud-like." As a result, Cairo and I stayed at several different barn during the short time we were together before finally settling at J&H Stables in Raleigh, NC and learning dressage from Simone Brannan. Unfortunately, in February 2001, my mother decided it would be best to sell Cairo back to Anita, since I was going away to college in the fall and couldn't take him with me. Thus, I am now horseless, although when I'm home, I may see Cairo as often as I like.... However, not too many people enjoy the 40minute drive to Durham to see him. But he's much happier there than he would have been here, I think. He's getting a well-deserved retirement.

Don't we match up well?
