Its a special place to go and sit,
To ponder,dream,or think a bit,
Catching the elusive summer breeze,
Your sweet little baby on your knees.
Some wrap around from end to end,
Inviting and roomy and welcome to kin
A fine sleeping place for summer's hot nights,
And opening your eyes to dawn's breaking light.
Watching the sun in the western sky,
Smelling aromas from warm apple pies
Your old dog Sarge laying at your feet
Can life be better or any more sweet?
There's thoughts to explore on hot summer days,
With friends and family that come your way
Cold lemonade in tall frosted mugs,
Always there's laughter and gentle hugs.
Why have the good times gone away?
Life's gentle pleasures from day to day,
In troubled times it's salve for the soul
Worth more to me than riches or gold.
