The Space Ships InsideThe Kryptonian Symbols from the show spell out: "ON THIS THRIRD PLANET FROM THIS STAR SOL YOU WILL BE GOD AMONG MEN THEY ARE A FLAWED RACE RULE THEM WITH STRENGTH THAT IS WHERE YOUR GREATNESS LIES", but I have yet to verify this. Clark took that as plans from his father for him to conquer our world. My take on what it means, is that we humans are a "flawed" race (and face it, we are), and here on earth he is to rule over us and protect us from harm. And Sol, if you were wondering, is the scientific term for earth.
