"Shampoo? Is that you? Your skin is all dried up!"
This is the appearance guide for Mousse.
It's been a while since I saw most of the TV-series, so far from all appearances are listed. (For now, it's mostly the major ones)
I'm going to re-watch those episodes and list every single appearance in due time.
Below the episode guide is the OAV guide, and below that is the movie one.
Episode Guide
Season 2 - Episode 8 (Nettôhen 8)
Enter Mousse! The Fist of the White Swan
Hakushou no otoko, Mousse toujou
This is the episode where Mousse is introduced.
He makes a flashy appearance followed by some scenes that makes you die laughing.
He craves Shampoo, but since she's "already spoken for", he attempts to get Akane instead.
The episode ends with a duel which Ranma (naturally) wins.
Mousse takes his leave and promises to come back later to defeat Ranma.
Season 2 - Episode 13 (Nettôhen 13)
The Abduction of Akane
Sarawareta Akane!
Mousse is back and attempts to kidnap Akane, but he accidently kidnaps a statue instead.
Mousse is now cursed so he turns into a duck when splashed with cold water.
Mousse blames Ranma for this and wants him dead yet again.
This episode ends with a cliff-hanger where Akane is about to be turned into a duck...
Season 2 - Episode 14 (Nettôhen 14)
Ranma vs. Mousse! To Lose is to Win
Taiketsu Mousse! Makeru ga kachi
Ranma duels Mousse in this one.
Ranma is close to marrying a duck thinking that it's Akane.
Mousse is close to winning but Ranma dispatches him in the end.
Mousse is about to go home but decides to work at the Cat Cafe instead so he can be close to the woman he loves.
Season 3 - Episode 14 (Nettôhen 36)
The Ultimate Team-up!? The Ryoga/Mousse Alliance
Shijou saikyou? Ryouga to Mousse doumei
A truly great episode which has Ryoga and Mousse teaming up VS Ranma.
Although close to winning, Ranma manages to save the day.
Hilarity ensues when Akane appears and kicks away the time-bomb that Mousse puts out before jumping into a lake.
Naturally, the bomb hits the lake.
Poor sod... heh, that's why I like him so much I guess.
Season 3 - Episode 20 (Nettôhen 42)
Enter Ken and his Copycat Kerchief
Toujou! Monomane kakutougi
Just like Ranma, Ryoga and Kuno - Mousse is beaten by copycat Ken.
He joins the other guys to train up in the mountains so they can defeat Ken when they come back to town.
However, Ranma is the only one that goes on a re-match with Ken in the end.
Season 4 - Episode 3 (Nettôhen 49)
Ranma Gets Weak
Ranma ga yowaku nacchatta
A fast appearance by Mousse in this one.
He takes on Ranma together with Kuno and the principal, since Ranma is in his weakened state.
When they are about to finish Ranma, Ryoga appears and punches them all flying.
Season 4 - Episode 20 (Nettôhen 66)
Mousse Goes Home to the Country!
Mousse kokyou ni kaeru
Probably my favorite episode.
The way you hear Mousse's mom's letter together with that lovely country music really gets to my heart!
Mousse decides to give up on Shampoo and is about to go back to China but instead stays in Japan to make sure that Ranma makes Shampoo the happiest girl alive.
Mousse is really a great guy, huh?
In the end, Mousse is tricked into thinking that Shampoo made him dinner when it's in fact a dinner that persuades him into watching the Cat Café while Shampoo and Cologne are on a trip.
Season 5 - Episode 7 (Nettôhen 77)
Hot Springs Battle Royale
Zekkyou! Onsen battle
A very funny episode where the teams Ranma/Shampoo, Ryoga/Ukyo and Akane/Mousse battles it out on a course full of traps and alike.
As mentioned, a very funny episode.
How the heck did Ryoga/Ukyo manage to win anyway?!
Season 6 - Episode 5 (Nettôhen 99)
Back to the Way We Were... Please!
Higan! Futsuuno otokoni modoritai
This is THE funniest episode, I promise.
It's about Ranma, Ryoga and Mousse each getting some powder which can make them normal again, alas, only one of them works. (So the other two turns you into something else!)
Mousse speaking about his youth with the nice and sad music in the background is touching, but the greatest part is when the party decides to sleep...
Season 6 - Episode 7 (Nettôhen 101)
Tendo Family Goes to the Amusement Park
Tendoke, yuuenchihe iku
The smart bastards that produce the series saves the best episodes to the end!
Mousse's role in this episode is not very big, but it's there.
This is mostly "just another episode" until the race begins, it's a very hilarious event which has most characters race it out on a track to win a dinner, Mousse included of course.
He's not very visible throughout the race, except when he "upgrades" his car...
Season 6 - Episode 9 (Nettôhen 103)
The Demon From Jusenkyo Part 1
Jusenkyo kara kita akuma zenpen
Not much of Mousse is shown in this episode.
He and Shampoo are "hired" by Soun to aid Ranma and Ryoga in the fight versus Pantyhose.
The episode ends with a typical cliff-hanger.
Season 6 - Episode 10 (Nettôhen 104)
The Demon From Jusenkyo Part 2
Jusenkyo kara kita akuma kouhen
The fight versus Pantyhose continues, and Mousse even saves Ranma from getting water over him at one point.
There are two highlights in this episode.
The first is when Ryoga and Mousse "consults" in the hotspring and the other one is the immortal line "But Pantyhose is better than Pantytaro, don't you think?".
This is one of the better episodes of Ranma ½, and I'm not the only one that would appreaciate more of these "team-up episodes".
Season 6 - Episode 11 (Nettôhen 105)
A Xmas Without Ranma
Ranma ga inai Xmas
Ahhh, I love Christmas episodes.
Snow and the jolly spirit!
Anyhow, the episode begins with Ranma accidently bumping into Mousse, leading to Mousse's gift to Shampoo getting crushed.
This angers Mousse and they both take off.
Akane goes around town asking most characters of the cast if they've seen Ranma, and they all have in one way or the other.
The episode ends with everyone celebrating Christmas at the Tendo's, sweet as it is!
OAV Guide
OAV #1 - Shampoo's Sudden Switch! The Curse of the Contrary Jewel
Shampoo accidently puts on a jewel that makes her hate Ranma.
Ranma becomes desperate over this, thinking that he has lost his charm.
Mousse, being one of the few that actually knows what's going on, teams up with Akane to sort things out.
Mousse as duck dominates this episode, looking funnier than ever.
OAV #2 - Tendo Family Christmas Scramble
Although all the OAVs are EXCELLENT, this is one of the very best.
("Shampoo! How could you go without me Shampoo?! SHAMPOO!!!" *Runs into a wall*)
Other funny events in this episode includes when Ryoga makes his way to the market...
But anyway, the very best part of this episode is the second half.
The Christmas spirit is there and all, since the MAJORITY, yes you read it right, the MAJORITY of the full Ranma ½ cast is in the Tendo dojo.
Examples: The gambling king, Lin-Lin and Ran-Ran, Sentaro and his wife... and even the guy who was in one episode only, the one who was a teacher and constantly told the pupils to care about their 'YOUTH!'. (Remember him?)
All in all, an awesome episode that no one should miss.
OAV #5 - The One to Carry On Part 1
Only minor apperances by Mousse in this one.
In the beginning of the episode, he tries to ask Shampoo out on a date.
He later returns to give Ranma some advice regarding the food thief.
Although Mousse doesn't appear much in this episode, it's still very much worth the watch.
(Just don't forget to watch the second part too!)
OAV #10 - Oh, Cursed Tunnel of Lost Love! Let My Love Be Forever
Another awesome OAV episode.
In this one, Shampoo and Ukyo plots a devilish scheme to split up Ranma and Akane by using a cursed tunnel of lost love. (As the episode's name implies!)
All of the major characters are there and goes into the cave in couples.
The amount of times Ukyo calls Ryoga 'Jackass' in this one is truly amazing.
But since Ranma and Akane gets into fights with each other quite easily, the ghosts lets them be and goes for Ryoga and Ukyo instead.
This is the funniest part of the whole episode.
Rock on, Mousse!
Movie Guide
Movie #1 - Big Trouble in Nekonron, China
This movie is a guaranteed laugh, hosting one of the most spectacular scenes ever in Ranma ½.
Which am I talking about? The chase scene, of course! The whole frickin' cast (almost) + the minor characters joins the chase for the strangest of reasons!
Later, Mousse gets to fight against the largest one out of the enemies, although he loses...
Other than that, Mousse doesn't do much other than comment on stuff every now and then.
But hey, it's better than nothing eh?
Movie #2 - Nihao, My Concubine
This is the better one out of the movies in my opinion.
The characters are stuck on an island due to Kuno's yacht going down.
One by one, the females disappear... to a nearby island.
The best scenes in this movie are Ryoga's comments ("Oh, it's just you.") and Mousse's fight versus Toristan, the bird-man.
That particular fight hosts many cool techniques and smooth animation, which gives you a reason to buy this movie ASAP!
