11/9/01: Have you ever wondered what this life is all about? Or felt so utterly hopeless and loveless that the thought occurred to you that no one would care if you were alive or dead? I have~ quite often in fact. Sometimes because things in my life were totally out of control; other times because someone I cared about and trusted just walked away and refused to speak to me. There have been times were I've sat looking at the stars or heavens or even the computer screen with tears staining my face thinking, "does anyone really care? Is this all some sort of bad joke?" Some of the worst times have occurred when either I felt something valuable was being taken from me or when someone I cared about would either quit talking to me or purposely hurt me. What I didn't understand then and am only now starting to understand is that no matter what happens or who leaves me, I will be okay as long as I have God. The only thing that truly matters is that you are comfortable with who are and you know that God is always there for you. Here are a few things the Bible says about God's love: "But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.(1 John 2:5)" The Bible also says: "In this was manifested the love of God towards us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.(1 John 4:9)" God thinks we're awesome; he wanted us to be with him again for eternity. Please never doubt his love for you because you are so special to God. I didn't want to preach, but just wanted to share a few things on my heart. Just remember, the value of your life is that you live and God was & is the only one who can give life, so please don't waste your life-it's not a dress rehearsal, it's the real deal. 11/12/01: Ever wonder what happens when love ends? Or when one person falls out of love with the other? Was it really love or was it lust? Have you ever cared so much for someone but knew they no longer felt the same way? Have you ever tried to save them only to watch as they destroyed themselves with alcohol and substance abuse? Have you ever been so hurt by someone that it feels like part of you is dying, but yet, you would forgive & forget in an instance if only they would say that they cared you were alive or would care enough to quit hurting themselves? If you can say all of this, then you know how I currently feel. I watch helplessly as someone I care deeeply about destroys himself-he won't listen to reason. There is coldness & cruelty where there once was kindness & caring; he doesn't even seem to care if I'm alive unless he's hit rock bottom and needs help, but then he's gone again.
When we talk about love -most people confuse love with lust or they think of love as a romantic term; they forget that before there can ever be any kind of romance, there must be companionate & compassionate love (which are the basis for all good relationships between family & friends). According to the Bible,"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.(John 15:13)"

1/2/02: After receiving several e-mails from people on this subject, I felt it was time to talk about it. How does one know that they are going to heaven? How do they know that they are a true Christian? How do they know that their sins are forgiven? Can they be forgiven? How do they become "born again"? Well, in this entry and the next two, I will set out to explain this in the best and most comprehensive manner I know how to. The Bible says that man is separated from God by sin because Adam sinned and broke the covenant with God. So man needed to be reconciled with God by a blood offering that would wash away the sins of humanity, but until Christ's death there was not an offering that could cleanse the sins of mankind, it only covered them temporarily. Jesus clearly states that there is only one way to the father and salvation, which is through him [Jesus Christ] and that anyone who says differently is a liar (I will discuss that in the next entry). Jesus Christ is the one we must believe in to be "saved" or "born again" true Christians.
This is the story of Nicodemus, a ruler over the Jews, who speaks to Jesus Christ on this very subject. I encourage all of you to read this passage for yourselves, but here is a short portion of it: "There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:the same came to Jesus by night and said unto him, 'Rabbi, we know thou art a teacher sent from God for no man can do these miracles that thou doest except God be with him.' Jesus answered, ' Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.' Nicodemus saith unto him, 'How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb and be born?' Jesus answered, ' Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of flesh is flesh and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee that ye must be born again.' Nicodemus answered, "How can these things be?' Jesus answered him saying, ' Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have not seenand ye receive not our witness. If I have told you earthly things and ye believe not, then how shall ye believe if I tell you of heavenly things?.... For God so loved the wolrd that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him [the Son, Jesus] is not condemned, but he that believeth not is condemned already because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.'(John 3:1-18)"
There is the prayer for salvation on the bottom of my homepage, please if you're not sure about your own soul's destiny, read and pray that prayer with all your heart. LONDON (Dec. 19) -- Are there ghostly goings-on at Henry VIII's palace, or is that hazy image of a fellow in fancy robes just a bit of Christmas cheer?
Closed-circuit security cameras at Hampton Court Palace, the huge Tudor castle outside London, seem to have snagged an ethereal visitor. Could it be a ghost?
''We're baffled too - it's not a joke, we haven't manufactured it,'' said Vikki Wood, a Hampton Court spokeswoman, when asked if the photo the palace released was a Christmas hoax. ''We genuinely don't know who it is or what it is.''
Wood said security guards had seen the figure in closed-circuit television footage after checking it to see who kept leaving open one of the palace's fire doors.
In the still photograph, the figure of a man in a robe-like garment is shown stepping from the shadowy doorway, one arm reaching out for the door handle.
The area around the man is somewhat blurred, and his face appears unnaturally white compared with his outstretched hand.
''It was incredibly spooky because the face just didn't look human,'' said James Faukes, one of the palace security guards.
''My first reaction was that someone was having a laugh, so I asked my colleagues to take a look. We spoke to our costumed guides, but they don't own a costume like that worn by the figure. It is actually quite unnerving,'' Faukes said.
The palace, built in 1525 on the River Thames 10 miles west of central London, is a popular tourist attraction and some of the guides wear costumes of the Tudor period.
Wood said she was hoping people would come forward with similar stories and try to explain the figure.
The palace has been the scene of many dramatic royal events, and already is supposed to have a few ghosts.
King Henry VIII's third wife, Jane Seymour, died there giving birth to a son, and her ghost is said to walk through one of the cobbled courtyards carrying a candle.
Her son, Edward, had a nurse called Sibell Penn who was buried in the palace grounds in 1562. In 1829 her tomb was disturbed by building work, and around the same time an odd whirring noise began to be heard in the southwest wing of the palace. When workmen traced the strange sounds to a brick wall, they uncovered a small forgotten room containing an old spinning wheel, just like the one Penn used to use.
Henry's fifth wife, Catherine Howard, condemned for adultery, was held at the palace under house arrest before her execution at the Tower of London. An 1897 book about the palace says she was reportedly seen, dressed in white and floating down one of the galleries uttering unearthly shrieks.
The palace was once a prison for King Charles I, who later was beheaded, and then home to his nemesis Oliver Cromwell, who briefly ruled when Britain was for a short time a republic.
