You may not always have exactly what a recipe calls for on hand. Here are some handy substitutions you can use.

1 cup self rising flour

Substitution
1 cup all purpose flour
plus 1 tsp. baking powder
and 1/2 tsp. salt

1 cup sifted all purpose flour
minus 2 Tbsps.
