The Debate Social Contract

Wheras a State of Nature has been deemed undesireable by those participating in this contract, and whereas John Mill states that it is moral to provide the greatest good for the greatest number of people and whereas a State of Nature has not done this and whereas a social order could and whereas morality, according to Kant, must be achieved and achieved throught desire to complete a duty and whereas that is close enough for us.....

We hereby form a social order.

Whereas Hobbes states a monarchy is the best form aof government for a people and whereas we, the Debaters, do vehemently set ourselves against monarcdhy and whereas Locke is the philosopher of popular choice and whereas he argues for a democractic rule and whereas that sounds cool to us and whereas that could be linked to Mill's Utilitarianism.......

We hereby form a democracy.

Whereas Aristotle defines Justice as "giving each man his due" and whereas we all believe we are due all that is good and beautiful........

We hereby have complete autonomy over our own affairs.

And whereas the above was a fake out and whereas we are all due equal treatment among all who deserve said treatment andwhereas Rawls defines justice as fairness and whereas that pretty much means everyone should have equal opportunity and whereas that would be nice to have in tournaments and whereas we aagree with this and whereas in a democracy Justice must be upheld in a democractic manner and whereas courts using jury trial is the most efficient way to accomplish this.....

We hereby insitute a Justice system with jury trial.

And whereas the truest form of democracy is not possible in a group of people much larger than 2,000.....

We hereby use the brand of democracy known as republic and we'll just call it democracy anyway.
