Ryoko is an ancient demon that came to the earth. Ryoko and Ryo-Ohki (her ship) were created by Washu. She was sealed into the Masaki Shrine by the Jurai prince, Yosho. Seven hundred years later, Tenchi accedentally released Ryoko from her tomb. Tenchi ran away, scared, and Ryoko set up her plan. Later that day, Tenchi was at school. He was there late and was about to go home when Ryoko attacked, now in her normal form. To make her stop, Tenchi used the sword Tenchi that he found in Ryoko's tomb and cut off her hand, releasing a jewel on her wrist. Ryoko then stayed with Tenchi.
Ryoko's powers are from her jewel, which are located on her right wrist, left wrist, and her neck. The jewels are kept on the sword Tenchi unless Tenchi is willing to give a jewel to her. Ryoko gets stronger with every jewel she has.
Ryoko's ship is Ryo-Ohki, a cabbit (part cat, part rabbit) that can change into a space ship. She used Ryo-Ohki for robberies, crimes, etc., until she crashed on earth. Ryo-Ohki died from the crash. When Ryoko was released from the Masaki Shrine, she found the remains of Ryo-Ohki and the egg it left behind. Ryo-Ohki can reproduce. There was a new Ryo-Ohki. Now Ryo-Ohki is used for good and is friends with the other members of Tenchi Muyo.
___________________________________________________________________________ *Tenchi Universe*In this series, Ryoko is a very popular and very successful space pirate. Mihoshi, a detective for the Galaxy Police, caught up with Ryoko and her spaceship Ryo-Ohki. The two ships crashed into earth and a pursuit started. Mihoshi chased Ryoko in what I will call a mobile suit. Tenchi was walking home from school when Ryoko bumped into him. She convinced Tenchi that the person in the mobile suit was a space pirate who was hunting her. Mihoshi started firing on both of them. Ryoko and Tenchi were running until they came to a cliff. As Mihoshi was charging into them, Ryoko and Tenchi moved to avoid her. Mihoshi then fell off the cliff. Ryoko showed her thanks to Tenchi. That wasn't it, though. Mihoshi came back for more. She found where Tenchi took Ryoko, to his home. A fight started and went on until Mihoshi mentioned she was a police officer. Tenchi realized that Ryoko wasn't telling the truth. Ryoko confessed and Mihoshi forgot about the whole thing.
Latter in the series, Ryoko learns that she has a new enemy. Her name is Nagi, with her cabbit, Ken-Ohki. Nagi is a bounty hunter who was sent to kill Ryoko. Although they were enemys, Ryo-Ohki and Ken-Ohki became close friends.
___________________________________________________________________________ *Tenchi in Tokyo*In this Tenchi series, Ryoko is a space pirate (no surprise here). Her partner in crime was Washu, the "greatest scientific mind in the universe". They had just stolen an advanced Jurai power from Ayeka and Sasami. They hired Kiyone and Mihoshi to help get the power back. They chased them up to the earth when Ayeka decided to fire on their ship. Ryoko and Washu crashed on earth while the rest followed. Meanwhile, Tenchi had been watching the sky when he saw what looked like a shooting star. Tenchi watched as the light crashed to the ground. He decided he would get a closer look. The hunt was on for Ryoko and Washu. As Ayeka, Sasami, Kiyone, Mihoshi, and Tenchi got closer, Ryoko used the Jurai power to become a demon. She was attacking everyone when Tenchi came. As she came nearer, Tenchi necklace that his mother left him started to glow. The gems at the end of the necklace became a magical sword. Tenchi used it to defeat Ryoko.
Just to mention, this is the only series that Ryo-Ohki did not belong to Ryoko. It belonged to Sasami instead.
___________________________________________________________________________ *Character Info*In every series, Ryoko's personality stays the same. She is arrogant and stuborn, but she can be kind at times. She is deeply in love with Tenchi. Ryoko always fights with Ayeka over this matter. She is a thief and sometimes a backstabber. Although she does care about her friends, she hardly shows it. Her powers stay the same, except for a few (summoning demons and telepathy with Ryo-Ohki to name a few). She has endured in Japan as a very popular character. Some may think she is more popular then the main character, Tenchi. She has strong character, which is what people like about her. She is also the basis of most of the comedy in the Tenchi series.
