Most of us are aware of the birth and death statistics returned to the state by the counties for certain years. These returns also included marriage data. At this time is it not known precisly how this information was gathered although it is known to have been done through the tax assecor's office. Please note that the dates in particular will vary from the county clerks records, but remember that many of those dates are the date of the bond or license or the license and may not be the actual marriage date. It is suggested that it be noted in in your records which is from the vital returns and which from the county clerk's records. These records were particulary chosen for publication because the age and birth dateplace data are not usually included in the county clerks records for this time period. There are a few marriages some in the county clerks records that are not included here. ABBREVIATIONS: R=reside B=born Counties without state abbrevations are Kentucky counties.
