"Kevin I think we need to talk!" Stephanie stomped into the master bedroom, noting silently that Kevin had extinguished many of the candles, except for a few that remained by the bed.
"I agree completely. Come in here and sit down." Kevin's voice demanded softly within the deep dimness of the room. She crossed her arms over her chest and took a seat on the bed. Her brown eyes searched throughout the dark room for his tall figure, but with the minimum light left in the room, it was impossible to see very much.
"Kevin, you have no right to tell me I can't go to NYC to be in the video…" She started, cut off by Kevin's loud mutter.
"You're my girlfriend and if I say I don't want you to go, I do not want you to go!" He kept his voice low, almost menacing. He watched Stephanie shiver and mentally wondered why he was being such an ass about the whole thing. 'Because you don't want her wandering around NY with Lenny while you aren't with her. You think she'll be unfaithful, hell, you already think she's banging your best friend.' an inner voice chided, making a growl rumble in his throat. 'I know she's not screwing Aj! Stop it!'
"You are not being fair Kevin. This is my life, I'm a grown woman and I will do what I want." She started again, but Kevin silence her.
"If you leave, it's over." His simply words crushed her instantaneously. She stared at him for a long while before she could even breath. Tears pounded at the back of her eyes, as she gave up.
"What?"
"You heard me, if you leave, we're through."
"Fine, Kevin. You win…" Her voice was crumbling as she rose from the bed. She tugged off her light pink bathrobe and revealed the silky white night dress she wore. It just barely caressed her mid-thigh, and the spaghetti straps slipped down enough to give quite a view of her cleavage. Kevin's jaw almost hit the floor. She just ignored him as he headed towards the bed, she just climbed under the covers of their bed.
"Steph… I'm…" He stopped when she blew out the two candles on her side of the bed.
"Just don't Kevin. Goodnight."
Kevin quickly changed out of his clothes and pulled on his silky pajama bottoms, and sat down at the edge of the bed. He glanced down at Stephanie as she rolled onto her stomach, burying her face into her pillow. He knew she wasn't going to talk to him at all the rest of the night, or let him hold her. He rose from the bed and headed for the door.
"Where are you going, Kevvy?" She sniffled softly, looking up at him as he stepped out into the hallway.
"To calm down before I go to bed. You know where I'll be…"

Theresa pulled up to Aj's house, cutting the ignition and bounding out of the car. She noticed the darkness in every window and sighed.
"I guess I don't get to argue anymore tonight…" She muttered to no one, figuring Aj had retired early for the evening. She quietly slipped into the dormant house, dropping her jacket carelessly on the chair near the door. She headed for the couch, kicking off her heels and settling back into a comfortable position. She laid there thinking of Aj upstairs sleeping and frowned, thinking how stupid it was to get upset about the pictures. She shut her eyes and drifted to a light slumber, trying to get comfortable on the stiff couch.

Aj had heard the front door open and shut, knowing Theresa had returned home. DJ and Vegas were pawing at his bedroom door anxiously, pleading with him to let them out to find their mommy. Aj sighed in the blackness of his large bedroom and rolled to his side, feeling the once again emptiness on Theresa's side of the bed. He grumbled under his breath and rubbed his eyes roughly. He slowly sat up in his king size bed and pushed back the thick covers, placing both feet on the coolness of the wood floor. He stumbled blindly to the chair placed at the side of his dresser and found his discarded boxers, tugging them on. Grabbing a pillow from the bed, he nudged his dogs away from the bedroom door and slithered out of his bedroom and down the stairs to the living room.
Aj found Theresa curled up on the couch, using her arm as a headrest. He carefully picked up her head and placed his pillow under her, brushing a few sun-streaked locks away from her slightly parted lips. He tugged the dark navy throw blanket from the nearby recliner and placed it over her, kissing her cheek ever so softly.
"Goodnight Baby Girl… I'm sorry…"

Stephanie listened to Kevin bang on the piano for a moment, then begin 'Fur Elise' by Beethoven. The hauntingly beautiful melody drifted to her ears and she slowly slipped from the bed. She slowly tiptoed from the room, leaving her bathrobe behind. She headed straight for Kevin's music room and silently moving behind him to listen to the soft music.
Kevin brought the song to an end and swiftly turned around, meeting his girlfriend's soft face under the harsh lamps. He immediately forced his face to a grim glower. As much as he knew she was not the one to blame, he resented the fact that she made him feel guilty. He noticed her initial shock at his set face and her expression hardened in defense as well.
"Well, what do you want? Can't you see I'm trying to relax a little?"
"I just came down here to ask you to knock off the damn noise because someone in this house is trying to sleep." She shot back, rising her chin as he stood.
"Really, you're trying to sleep, huh? And this…" He tapped on the keys of the piano again in a soft rhythm. "This is bothering you?"
"Yeah, it is. I need my sleep." She glared at his sarcasm, folding her arms across her chest. He slowly stood to his feet and stared down at her.
"You really wanna sleep huh?" Kevin muttered, softly grabbing her bare shoulder and pulling her towards him. He slowly tugged her arms away from her body and jerked her forward. Their bodies touched, then Kevin suddenly lifted her from the floor and into his arms. "I don't think you'll be getting any sleep tonight."

Theresa woke slowly, glancing around her bedroom. She sat up immediately, remembering she had stayed down on the couch. She gazed down and found herself dressed only in her tank top and undies. She carefully peeked next to her. No Aj. She sighed and rose from the bed, pulling on her robe before heading downstairs.
Aj had the boom-box on in the kitchen while cooking pancake for breakfast. Theresa listened to Savage Garden's Affirmation cd for a moment before hearing the words to the song.
Hey, if we can't find a way out of these problems
Then maybe we don't need this
Standing face to face
Enemies at war we build defenses
And secret hiding places
I might need you to hold me tonight
I might need you to say it's alright
I might need you to make the first stand
Because tonight I'm finding it hard to be your man.
Aj hadn't heard her come in and continued singing with the oh-so-true song. He felt every word of it anytime they were fighting, which was becoming more and more often. He hated it when they fought, but Theresa sometimes forced them into an argument and he was not one to back down from an argument.
Hey, more than angry words I hate this silence
It's getting so loud
Well I want to scream
But bitterness has silenced these emotions
It's getting hard to breathe…
Aj turned to stop the music and wake Theresa, when he heard another voice singing with him. He spun around to find his girlfriend standing behind him. "Oh, you're up…"
"Morning J, I see you've been through my cd collection again." She smiled softly, sitting down at the table.
"Yeah, well it's a very appropriate song." He muttered softly, the last chorus of 'Hold Me' by Savage Garden ending softly. 'I Knew I Loved You' began but Aj stopped it. "I made some pancakes for breakfast, though they kinda look, umm, burnt. If you'd rather, I can run to Mickey D's for some grub."
Theresa waved her hand to dismiss the idea. "No, this will be fine. But maybe we should talk a little."

Stephanie groaned as Kevin opened the curtains to let in the bright morning sunshine. She tugged the blankets over her head and rolled onto her stomach. Kevin chuckled and patted her bottom to wake her.
"Rise and shine, Baby. Time to get up…" He smirked, pulling the dark comforter off her naked body and slapped her rear end again. When she just mumbled a 'fuck off' and buried her head under the pillow, he shook her softly. "Get up Babe."
"I don't want to. I'm still tired." She sighed, rolling over and allowing him to help her sit up. She brushed her tangled hair out of her face and groaned as she stood, feeling a tightness in her thighs. 'Good Lord, how long did we go at it last night?' She questioned herself silently, wobbling towards the bathroom.
"Damn Baby, did I do you that good last night?" Kevin teased, as Stephanie shut the bathroom door and started up the shower. He followed into the bathroom, not bothering to knock. "What's the matter Honey?"
"Don't you knock?" She muttered, feeling slightly grouchy. They had had make up sex last night, the rougher kind. Kevin always got more aggressive when he was angry about something. And he had been angry at her last night.
"Uh oh, someone's grumpy this morning. Maybe a nice shower would be good. Want a little help washing some of those hard to reach spots?" He whispered against her ear, pressing himself close to her as she stood before the mirror. She sighed and leaned back against him.
"Only if you promise not to bite this time!" She gave him a stern look through the mirror that made him smirk.
"Scouts honor."
