Archived news and information from the world of the new Ginyu Force to you! Read on for all my old updates.
Friday, December 13, 2002: As promised
on Monday, I am now hand-delivering to you two chapters to make up for
last week's lack of an update. They're both in the Volume
Twelve section and are called "Plans and Encounters" and "Pinapo at Last!"
respectively.
Furthermore, I've put up two new pictures
for your enjoyment. Now that all the players have been introduced, here's an image
of the villains of the Search for Pinapo saga, and since I've talked so much
about them and we're finally meeting one of them, here's a picture
of all Kiwi's siblings, as they appear in my mind.
That's it for this week,
so check it all out and be back next Friday for more of the Search for
Pinapo!
Monday, December 9, 2002: So sorry there wasn't an
update last week! I was quite sick for a few days, then things got very hectic
at work... plus I blew some birthday money on Dragonball Z Budokai for
the PS2 and have been playing it nearly nonstop since last Thursday. It's a
great game from my point of view, since I'm more interested in how a game looks
and its bonus features than in the actual mechanics of move execution (which,
according to some reviews I've read apparently aren't all that good). Anyway, to
make up for it I'll have two chapters up this Friday, and as an apology, here's
yet
another picture of Melonia for you to look at. This one's brand new, and I'm
playing with the color of her armor. Nothing fancy, just sprucing it up with
some color. I think I like it better.
Also, there's another new picture
up on the main
page. Last year Melonia dressed up in a Santa suit, so I saw no reason to
buck the tradition this year.
See you Friday with the two promised
chapters!
Thursday, November 28, 2002: Happy Thanksgiving to
all! In honor of the holiday when we stuff ourselves silly with food, I've
decided to stuff you silly with Ginyu goodies! So here, for an
unprecedented time, are three chapters all at once! Yes, in the Volume
Twelve are, you'll find "Koganut Comes Clean," "Arrival on Planet Zarbon,"
and "Nightfall," all for your reading pleasure!
Then check out the
seven new Images
I've put up: Some in the newly-christened Volume
Twelve section, and the rest in the Other
Characters area. You'll find the following: Zarbon's
Harem (described laste week and now illustrated for your enjoyment), a
couple of typical natives
of Planet Zarbon (introduced in the new chapters), the Ginyu
Support Staff in spiffy new uniforms, yet another picture of
Melonia (nothing new, it's just one of the many I have lying around), a shot
of Frihala in
her under-armor clothes (Why? Why not?), Bembu
and Oysta powering up in their nightclothes (see Frihala for why), and a
shot of Princess
Mozzarella in an evening gown.
I'd say that's all, but that's way to much
to even consider saying it about. Check 'em out, but don't gorge yourself! I'm
off to have a happy birthday this weekend, then I'll be back next week with your
next installment. See ya!
Friday, November 22, 2002: Well,
here it is: The next exciting chapter of Volume
Twelve, titled "Spectre of Zarbon." Just why did Koganut find that area of
space so familiar? Time to find out...
Also, I've changed the Timeline
in the Miscellanea
section. It is now color-coded to indicate which events are from DBZ, which are
from the New Ginyu Force, which are from the Forgotten Z-Fighters, and
which are from the DBZ RPG campaigns I've run. Also, it only goes up to the
current Ginyu storyline, so there are no more spoilers present.
Finally, I
slaved away last night to assemble another little gem for the Miscellanea
section: A list, with descriptions, pictures and histories of most of the key alien
races that have been featured in the adventures of the new Ginyu Force! I
hope you'll check it out, because I spent a lot of time working on it.
And
for those of you who have been puzzling over who said "A man who whips a dog
will pull his own sled some day" (see last week's update), well the answer is
the Eskimo called Kwinn from Marvel's old G. I. Joe comics, now available
in handsome trade paperback collections. Those old issues are comic-book
storytelling at its finest, so I encourage anyone and everyone to check them
out.
Oh yeah, in case you haven't noticed--Last year Kiwi and Koganut did the
honors, and this year it's Meebor and Tratina Kalara who are dressed up as pilgrims
on the Main
Page.
Until we meet again, remember to always sieze the
day!
Friday, November 15, 2002: After last week's bonanza,
I've only got one thing to put up this week... the next chapter of Volume
Twelve, called "The Search for Pinapo Part Six: Return to Capsule
Corporation!" Yes, if anyone on Earth can track a space pod that left years ago,
it must be Bulma... so that's just who our heroes are off to see. Get ready for
a lot of talking and virtually no action in this new chapter!
I'll try to
have some pictures or something else new up next week, so be ready. Until then,
I leave you with these words of wisdom: "A man who whips a dog will pull his own
sled one day." And if anyone knows where that quote comes from, they deserve a
great big pat on the back!
Friday, November 8, 2002: It's been
a long time since I did this, but I've decided to restore the old practice of
starting a new volume with two chapters for your reading enjoyment! So it
is that I bring "The Search for Pinapo" parts four and five in the
newly-christened Volume
Twelve area! They're titled "Reunions on Earth" and "A Trip to Miifan,"
respectively. I should warn you that as you might expect, "A Trip to Miifan"
features Tien and the gang from The Forgotten
Z-Fighters, and there's been quite a big development in their lives since we
last saw them after the Been Team saga!
Also, since she appears in the
chapter, I've tossed up a new picture
of Melonia in the Images
section. It's nothing spectacular, just something I've had sitting around for
several months.
And one last thing: I've updated the Power Levels chart on
the Miscellanea
page to reflect Tato's Adventure.
That's all this time around, but with two
chapters, I should hope it'll be enough! Until next week, my
friends!
Friday, November 1, 2002: I know it's a day late, but
happy Halloween! I hope everyone had a good time last night. Getting down to
business, here's the final chapter of Volume
Eleven, "The Search for Pinapo Part Three: Return to Planet Earth." Yes, it
seems that Earth is indeed the hub of all action in the DB universe. This
chapter features the voice of a long-absent character (we'll see him in full
next week), as well as an appearance by a nameless Dragonball extra, last
seen when Goku voyaged to the West Capital during the Red Ribbon Army saga. Hope
you recognize him when you see him!
Also, I'd been meaning to do this since
Tato's Adventure ended, and finally remembered today--I've updated the Character
Bios to feature an updated page for Tato and a description of our favorite
Cheezy princess, Mozzarella! Go check 'em out.
And as I'm sure everyone
knows, the San Francisco Giants lost the World Series. I'm upset, true... but
not discouraged. There will be other chances for this team, mark my
words.
Until next week, my friends!
Friday, October 25,
2002: Hot on the heels of Tato's Adventure comes a new mini-saga, one that's
been waiting in the wings since early in the Captain Ginyu Reborn storyline--It
is, of course, the story of Kiwi's search for his long-lost brother Pinapo, last
seen in The
Forgotten Z-Fighters! To start the saga off, I have posted two
chapters in the Volume
Eleven area, so go read!
And once you're done with those two chapters,
check out the four pictures I've just put up--There are two on the Volume
Eleven Images Page (the
heroes of the saga and the wizard
Leiter), and two on the Other
Characters Page (Meebor
and Tratina Kalara and Drog), so
have a look!
Next week will be more of the epic Search for Pinapo, which I
personally like better than Tato's Adventure... though the ultimate decision is
up to you. Until then, go Giants!
Friday, October 18, 2002:
The final chapter of Tato's Adventure, "Epilogue," is here at last, and you'll
find it in the Volume
Eleven section, so hop to it!
I've also added a couple of pictures of
Tato and his acquaintances to the Volume
Eleven Pictures Page, so you may want to check them out as well.
As you
can tell from the picture
I've put up on the main page, I'm a San Francisco Giants fan, so let's hope they
can go all the way and bring us our first championship in forty-seven years,
shall we? Go Giants!!
That's it this time around, but be here next week for
the start of a new mini-saga: Kiwi, Koganut and some friends go in search of
Kiwi's brother in the long-awaited "Search for Pinapo." Don't miss it!
Friday, October 11, 2002: Well, I've just got another minor
item this week... the penultimate chapter of Volume
Eleven, "Tato's Adventure Part Ten: The Final Battle." Tato confronts the
sinister wizard Bleu in a winner-takes-all showdown, so be there!
Anyway,
like I said last week, I'm still working to get back up to speed on things
here... so that's it for now. In other news, though, I just started another
Dragonball Z RPG campaign... Hopefully we'll be doing it once a week, but
we'll see how it works out. It's the same players as before, but with new
characters starting out much weaker than a DBZ character... right now they're
more along the lines of classic Dragonball.
Anyway, I'll be back next
week with the final chapter of Tato's Adventure!
Sunday, October
6, 2002: I'm sorry I didn't update on Friday, but it was a busy day at work.
Anyway, here's the new chapter of Volume
Eleven, called "Tato's Adventure Part Nine: The End of Romano."
I
realize I haven't been putting much else up on the site lately besides chapters,
but for some reason I've had a lot going on lately to deal with. I'll try to get
back on track soon, though what's likely to happen is that I'll take a brief
hiatus while I finish the next storyline, so it's already complete when I start
posting it. I haven't had a lot of time to draw lately, which is why there
haven't been any new images, but with any luck there'll be more of those on the
way soon too.
Until we meet again...!
