Super-Deformed Melonia!

Archived news and information from the world of the new Ginyu Force to you! Read on for all my old updates.

Friday, September 27, 2002: Well, it's that time once again. Here is your weekly dose of action in the form of "Tato's Adventure Part Seven: On the Road Again," now available in the Volume Eleven area. I was just reading it myself, admiring some of the cheesy (pun intended?) dialogue, so I hope you will too.
Also, I just watched Char's Counterattack tonight, and for anyone who cares, I have but one question: What the heck?!? What kind of ending was that? At least in American cinema, ambiguous endings give you an idea of what you should be thinking about, but my gosh! I can live with a little confusion over a conclusion (hey, a rhyme!), but I have absolutely no idea what happened. I think that with Gundam, as with certain other animes, there's a lot of backstory that doesn't make it into the shows, but they assume you've read about it somewhere else. Anyway, that was just a rant in which I didn't want to spoil the (so-called) ending, so I couldn't be specific. But if anyone reading this sees the film, I hope you'll agree with me.
Until next week!

Friday, September 20, 2002: I'm in a bit of a hurry this week, so here's "Tato's Adventure Part Seven: On the Road Again," in the Volume Eleven area.
There's also now a Volume Eleven Images Page, and on it is a picture of Mozzarella's parents, who we met briefly in the previous chapter. Check it out!
That's all I've got, so I'll see you next week!

Friday, September 13, 2002: I'm over my illness (more or less), so here's this week's installment in the adventures of the Ginyu Force! It's chapter 102, which I've called "Tato's Adventure Part Six: A Brief Layover," and it's available in the Volume Eleven area.
Also, as promised, I've put up another Character Profile, this one of Melonia's human friends, and it's available near the bottom of the page.
I have to work tomorrow, so I may come on here in my boredom and add more... we'll see. And oh yeah... It's Friday the Thirteenth, so be careful!!!

Friday, September 6, 2002: I don't feel too well today, so this'll be a short one. I have added the first chapter of Volume Eleven, titled "Tato's Adventure Part Five: Enter Romano."
I also have a new character profile, but don't feel very much up to the task of posting it, though I may do so this weekend.
Anyway, see you later!

Friday, August 30, 2002: Well, it's the second-to-last day of August, 2002. A date which will not be remembered for a baseball strike, thank goodness... because that means it can instead be remembered for the monumental Chapter 100 in the adventures of the new Ginyu Force! Yes, head over to the Volume Ten area for "Tato's Adventure Part Four: Interludes." It's a milestone!
Then, once you've read that chapter, head over to the Volume Ten Images Page for pictures of a couple of miscreants that appear in it.
No new character profiles this week, but I may try for one next week. Oh, and how about that Transformers: Armada? Not quite so good as we all hoped, eh? Don't get me wrong, I thought the Transformers looked great, and I love Garry Chalk and David Kaye as Prime and Megatron (though I prefer Peter Cullen and Frank Welker from the original), but overall it was somewhat... lacking. I'll give it another chance to impress me this week, though. And even if it doesn't, at least there's a new episode of the spectacular Masters of the Universe on tonight!
Anyway, see you on the flipside!

Friday, August 23, 2002: Another week, another update, eh? This time I've got the penultimate chapter of Volume Ten, which I have named "Tato's Adventure Part Three: The Legend Explained." Please go give it a read, won't you?
Also, to show off my newfound PDF-making skills, and to give you all something a little extra, I've added a new item to the Text Manga section (I really hate calling it a text manga; it sounds so odd... but what else can I do?). It's a 192-page PDF covering every chapter of every saga through Captain Ginyu Reborn, and it's the original unedited version. Also, as a special bonus, I painstakingly read through the entire thing, eliminating any grammar errors I found, so it should be mostly error-free! As you'll note when you get there, parental discretion is advised.
Also, I have added one more Character Profile, this one of the Saiyan twins, Bembu and Oysta, so have a look if you want to know about 'em!
And of course, we mustn't forget that Transformers: Armada premieres on Toonami today at 4:00. I haven't seen much about this show yet, but from the bits I have beheld, it looks amazing, and I urge everyone to check it out!
Until next time... Transform and roll out!

Friday, August 16, 2002: Okay, this'll be a good one: First up, I've got the new chapter of Volume Ten, "The Cheezy Princess." Yes, at last it can be told--Tato's Adventure is my foray into a Dungeons and Dragons/Lord of the Rings/Legend of Zelda style epic. I don't know if it all turned out as well as I might have hoped, but I'll leave that up to you to decide as you read it.
Anyway, once you've finished the new chapter, head over to the Volume Ten Images Page to see some artwork showcasing Tato and the cast of characters he meets in this chapter.
But that's not all! No, I've got something extra this week, something I whipped up on Tuesday during a dreadfully boring day at work. In the Miscellanea section, at the top of the page, you'll find something called "Little-Known Facts." This contains, as you might surmise, some little-known facts about my cast of characters, so check it out if you want to learn something new.
Oh, and don't forget that the new Masters of the Universe cartoon premieres today at 4pm on Toonami! If you don't watch it, I may have to personally hunt you down and teach you a lesson. I saw a preview of this show at Comicon, and it looks amazing!
Until next time... I have the power!

Monday, August 12, 2002: Well, I might have known it was too easy... As I suspected in the previous update, the bios I've updated don't have pictures when I look at them on Internet Explorer 5.5 here at work. I can only imagine how messed up they must be on Netscape... So, I guess it comes down to this: If you have IE 6.0+, you'll be able to see pictures in the character bios. If you don't, you won't. A little benefit for being technologically advanced, I guess. Until Friday, my friends...!

Friday, August 9, 2002: Here I am again, with several items of note for you this week. First off, naturally, is the new chapter of Volume Ten. Titled "Tato's Adventure Part One: Now For Something Completely Different," it's a little foray into a realm I don't usually visit, so I hope you'll like it.
Also, I've made some changes to the Character Bios pages. To start, I went in and changed the pictures from pretty much everyone there, so they're now all updated with more modern-looking art and bettwe colors. Then, I went ahead and updated bios for certain characters, and even added several new ones! Yes, there are now biographies for the Been Team, Dr. Stool and his Coliflur clone, Captain Ginyu and Majin Kazam, the new Ginyu Force support crew (Gong, Ding, Ring, Mesa, and Melakka), and Yamu! That's a lot of info, but I urge you to check them out--you may learn some things you didn't know. In fact, I guarantee you will, so go for it!(note: I made them in MS Word, because otherwise I don't how to use HTML to make the pitures left-aligned with text right-aligned next to them. Hopefully they'll look all right on most browsers. I know they're fine on my Internet Explorer 6.0, but I haven't been able to check them on anything else)
And as for that trip to San Diego I took... Well, it was a barrel of fun. My days were filled with geeky Comicon wackiness, including the purchase of several issues of Silver Surfer from years back, which led up to the Infinity Gauntlet, a nifty bendy figure of Chun-Li from Street Fighter, the new Beast Man, Man-at-Arms, and Stratos figures from Masters of the Universe (making its debut on Toonami next Friday, so don't miss it!), a Transformers mini-bust of Prowl that I got for about $20 less than retail, a Comicion exclusive He-Man figure limited to 1,000 pieces, some DC Heroclix that aren't supposed to be released for a month and a half, an appearance by Mark Hamill and several of my favorite voice actors (Jim Cummings, Rob Paulsen, Maurice LaMarche, Jess Harnell, and Billy West to name a few--if anyone even knows who they are), and of course, the autograph of the actor who played Grimlock on Transformers, Gregg Berger! And then the nights--I don't think I was sober for a single evening, so that right there led to even more fun (in spite of the fact that the things I was doing might not have even been fun--that's how liquor works). All in all, it was the best Comicon trip so far out of the three I've taken.
But now I'm back to the humdrum drudgery of everyday life and looking for a "real job." Nonetheless, I'll keep on plugging away here, so go have a look at the things I mentioned above, and I'll be back next week with another chapter and some pictures of Tato's adventure!

Wednesday, August 7, 2002: Well, I got back from Comicon on Monday night, worked yesterday, and now here I am at work again today! I'll be back later this week with a regular update, but for now, I need to fix something... I just realized that when I updated before I left for San Diego, I incorrectly linked the newest chapter from the Volume Ten page. You may have figured out you could still get to the correct chapter by typing its number into your address bar, or you may not have. Regardless, I have now repaired the problem so you can see the end of the Captain Ginyu Reborn saga if you previously missed it. And as I said, I'll be back Friday with the regular update--and maybe I'll talk about my trip to San Diego, since it was too fun not to mention.

Thursday, July 27, 2002: I'm back for a few days before I depart for the San Diego Comicon, so here's the newest chapter of Volume Ten, as well as the last chapter of the Captain Ginyu Reborn Saga -- "The Restoration." I'll be back after my trip with the start of a new, different sort of mini-saga. It'll be a good show.
To commemmorate the end of the Captain Ginyu Reborn Saga, I've updated the Power Level chart on the Miscellanea page with powers for everyone through the end of the saga.
Finally, I've added some new Images to that section -- I've changed the images of Mesa and Melakka and of Rocket Warrior in the Other Characters section, I've changed the picture of Raditz's hidden power in the Volume Two section, I've colorized the group power up image in the Volume 8 area, and I've added a picture of Dr. Stool and his sinister team to the Volume 6 page. Go check 'em out, and I'll see you later!

Thursday, July 18, 2002: Two weeks since the last update, eh? You may think I forgot about the site or something, but nothing could be further from the truth. Last Friday I tried to do the deed like usual, but found, much to my dismay, that Angelfire suddenly thought I had exceeded my allotted disk space. I don't know it happened, but it seems all my uploading caught up with me. I was at work that day, and couldn't spend the time I'd need to to remove enough files to continue updating. Then the next day (Saturday) was a friend's birthday, then I didn't get back home till Sunday evening, then Monday I worked, then Tuesday I went to see my favorite band, They Might Be Giants, perform in San Francisco, then Wednesday I drove back up here again, which brings us to today. Excuses? You better believe it! But now, I'm finally back in action... For a moment.
So here's this week's chapter (though it should have been last week's) of Volume Ten, titled "The Ultimate Showdown." This is the big finale to the last battle with Ginyu, and let me be the first to say that, while I like what happens to the villain, I don't feel this is my best work. It gets the job done though, so go have a look and see what you think for yourselves.
No new pictures or anything this week, because I'm just barely below my allotted disk space. What that means is that very soon I'll be removing some things from the site. Mainly old, non-colored images and textual content I never update (like the RPG stats and Cast List, which have already been removed from the Miscellanea page.
And one last peice of business: I'll be gone from this Saturday till the following Saturday on a family trip, so I might not be updating (though who knows; I did it from Tahoe last year, I could do it from L. A. too). Then, the following week I'll be down at the San Diego Comicon, so there may be no more updates till August. If that's the case, take care, and we'll speak again upon my return.
Addendum (later that day): As promised, I've now trimmed down the Images section by removing some pictures and making others smaller. That should keep Angelfire's ravenous appetite satiated for now!

Friday, July 5, 2002: Well, another holiday has passed, and it was free of terror. I guess we put the fear of the ol' U. S. A. into the bad guys, eh? Anyway, I hope everyone had a fun Independance Day, and to ensure your freedom from a boring day, I've arrived with a veritable cornucopia of Ginyu goodies.
First off, as you might expect, is the newest chapter of Volume Ten, called "Android Coliflur." As you might infer from the title, Coliflur's mechanical body is finished, and she's ready to use it against Ginyu! To commemorate this event, I've put up a picture of the body in the Volume Ten area.
Also in the Volume Five Images section is a trip down memory lane: A picture of the Been Team, drawn and colored last week, so you might call it my modern-day interpretation of them. It's amazing to me to compare this new one with the first pic I drew of them, in the Volume Four area.
And finally, there are two new additions to the Other Characters page... A picture of Kiwi's brother Pinapo, who appears in the Forgotten Z-Fighters, and something that took me weeks to complete: A picture of everyone (minus one or two very minor characters) who's appeared in the New Ginyu Force stories to date! Some people are seen for the first time ever here; others are colored for the first time ever. I think it's pretty nice looking, and I hope you will too! And oh yeah, there are a few pictures of characters from Dragonball... some drawn by me and others taken from various Manga and anime sources.
And remember... when next we meet it shall be as enemies.

Monday, July 1, 2002: I must start off with an apology for not updating last week. I was in the midst of important preparations for something, and forgot. So here's last Friday's update today. Anyway, the new chapter of Volume Ten is titled "Yamcha to the Rescue?". Yes, the desert bandit strikes out with intentions to deal a crippling blow to Ginyu's plan. Will he succeed? Only one way to find out, and you know what that way is. I'll be back later this week with another update.
