the
DRAGONBALL ZUY ½
C H R O
N I C L E S
episode guide
Following are descriptions of the various
“episodes” of the RPG campaign that I gamemastered over the summer of 2000,
called Dragonball ZUY½. And no,
we didn’t actually play this many sessions… I just broke the sessions up into
episodes when I typed this guide to (a.) make it flow like the DBZ anime,
and (b.) make it look longer. Therefore
I now present all 89 episodes, 1 TV special, and 5 movies:
The Tenkaichi Budokai Training Saga
Episode
One: “Urusei no More! Meet Shutaro
Mendou, Z-Soldier!”: First
(DBZ) appearance of Mendou and his family, as Mendou must save his father from
the gangster Lobo Anthrax. Mendou’s
father assigns his son to run around the world then enter the Tenkaichi
Budokai.

Begins! Introducing Tim, Sushi Chef
Supreme!”: Mendou
reaches the edge of the Southern Island and meets Tim. Also the first appearance of Larry Mongo,

Lizard Lumberjack has his first appearance here, too.

High School Chums”: Our
merry band reaches Sonzu’s dojo, near the Northern Capital. While Gangat works on constructing a gravity
chamber in the gang’s RV, Mendou, Tim, and Zeno spar with Master Sonzu’s
students Megane, Kakugari, and Perm.
First appearance of Germ, too.
Episode

Britney explore the nearby Northern Capital, Mendou, Tim, and Larry try to save
Master Sonzu from the Red Ribbon Army and its new leader, Colonel Maroon.
Episode
Seven: “In the Northern Capital, the Possessed Monk

in Northern Capital, our heroes split up.

Gangat and Tim race to Capsule. Roshi
isn’t there either, but Lizard Lumberjack is.
All our heroes note that the sky is turning black near the area of
Korin’s Tower, so they race there.
Episode
Thirteen: “Meet Mr. Popo! He knows the Score!”: Our
heroes reach Korin’s tower. The cat

Contestants!”: Popo
sends Mendou, Tim, Zeno, and Gangat into the Room of Spirit and Time, where
they fight past versions of Chaotzu, Yamcha, Krillin, Tien, and Goku. This is Popo’s final task for them, and they
go their separate ways to train for one more month—Gangat in his gravity
chamber, Zeno, Ryoga, and Ferret Man at Kami’s, Tim at Sonzu’s, and Mendou at
his home estate in the Mendou Family Gravity Chamber.

invaders!

The Outer Space
Saga
Episode
Seventeen: “Arrival on the Purple
Planet! Arganora, Here We Are!”: Our heroes reach Shenunga’s
(a.k.a. Yazbum’s) adopted home planet, Arganora. There, the Namekkian explains that an alien invader has shown up
in search of the Dragon Balls that his deceased father had created years ago,
and that she had already acquired six of them!
Yazbum leads our heroes to a village, where the final Ball is in the
care of one of his friends. En route,
they fight a sea monster, but eventually they arrive. Just as they do, however, aliens in Saiyan armor named Drog and
Alvino show up!
Episode
Eighteen: “The Epic Fight Begins! And Another Saiyan Shows Up?”: Our heroes fight against Drog
and Alvino, with Mendou blowing Drog up.
Then another Saiyan shows up, named Coliflur. She says she’s Asparaga’s sister, and that she also wants the
Dragon Balls. She has two more
henchmen, Noklok and Meebor. Zeno and
Tim, who had been hiding, launch an attack.
Zeno slices off Coliflur’s tail, and she slams him for it. Coliflur then attacks Shenunga.
Episode
Nineteen: “Coliflur Versus
Shenunga! The Namekkian’s Last
Battle!”: Coliflur
and Shenunga have an all out brawl for the entire episode, while the others
have minor skirmishes with Coliflur’s henchmen.
Episode
Twenty: “The Giant Noklok—Invincible Warrior?”: Our heroes defeat Alvino and
Meebor, but have a very hard time with Noklok.
Meanwhile, the last Dragon Ball is surreptitiously stolen by Asparaga,
who retreats with it. Gangat takes off
to search for the other balls, and shortly after, the sky blackens not too far
away. Mendou, Ryoga, and Zeno fly
there, and they find Asparaga resurrecting her lover Nappa. Zeno immediately retreats, and Ryoga
challenges Nappa. Coliflur arrives and
attacks Asparaga.
Episode
Twenty-One: “Furious Battle! Feel the Saiyans’ Rage!”: Tim and Ferret Man defeat
Noklok, then swipe the armor from Meebor and Drog’s remains. Shenunga coughs up an egg, entrusts it to
them, and dies. They hide the egg and
go to join the fight with Nappa.
Meanwhile, Ryoga battles Nappa in what appears to be a standoff, and Coliflur
and Asparaga have a super fast fight in mid-air.
Episode
Twenty-Two: “The Battle Concludes! Nappa Defeated?”: While Ryoga, Tim, and Ferret Man challenge Nappa,
Mendou tries to talk Asparaga and Coliflur into helping. But Asparaga instead goes to aid Nappa. Coliflur renews her assault on her
sister. Mendou and the others decide to
retreat and escape after Coliflur beats Asparaga and challenges Nappa. They make their way to Coliflur’s ship and
talk their way aboard. Alvino goes to
check on Coliflur. Our heroes leave the
planet after collecting the egg, Zeno, and Gangat. As they enter space, they learn that Meebor and Noklok are aboard
the ship.
Episode
Twenty-Three: “Mendou’s Conniving
Tricks”: Mendou tricks Meebor,
Noklok, and the ship’s pilot, Gronk, into leaving on escape pods. Meanwhile, on Arganora, Coliflur defeats
Nappa. But she doesn’t finish him when
Alvino shows up and tells of the humans near her ship. She takes off for the ship, to find that
it’s gone. She steals Asparaga’s space
pod and leaves the planet to follow the Earthlings. Meanwhile, Nappa and Asparaga find themselves stranded on the
planet. Alvino, having been promised by
Coliflur that he’ll be rescued, goes into hiding from them.
Episode
Twenty-Four: “Earthbound Heroes
Hijacked by the Oni! Invader Issues a
Challenge!”: Our
heroes are sucked into a black hole. As
they pass through it, Shenunga’s egg hatches to reveal his son, Yazbum Jr. The gang then emerges in Oni space, where
they are pulled over and taken to the homeworld. Gangat and Zeno act really stupid, with Gangat eventually
stealing a ship and leaving the planet.
He makes plans, however, to return and save our heroes at the last
minute. Meanwhile, the gang is
challenged by Invader to fight him for their right to go free. They agree, and beat him. Gangat then shows up, since he wasn’t
needed. Invader realizes that our
heroes have been thrown back in time to the day the Oni invaded Earth. He uses a time machine to send them home,
and their ship crash lands in the Southern Hemisphere of Earth.
-End of the Outer Space
Saga-

Island! What Horror Lurks Here?”: Our heroes find that they

him. Meanwhile, Mendou senses a great power
level across the island. He, Tim, and
Ferret Man go to investigate. They find
Rocket Warrior, a representative of Team Rocket. After a quick skirmish, Warrior blinds our heroes and escapes
towards the volcano on the island.
Meanwhile, Zeno meets a Pokemon trainer named Eddy McMahon. He attempts to trade Yazbum jr. for Eddy’s

fires an energy blast at the Mendou estate, which deflects it towards the
Moroboshi house, annihilating it.

in Northern City. When morning falls,
Tim and Yazbum jr. emerge from the Room of Spirit and Time. Tim is much stronger, but Yazbum never
adjusted to the gravity and is the same.
They head out to find the others, while at the same time Zeno, Ryoga,
Glinn, and Gangat all set out for Yunzabitt.
Meanwhile, Mendou reaches Yunzabitt and meets up with Larry, who had
driven there. Mendou knocks out Dr.
Arachnus, who is there for some reason, then goes for the last Dragon
Ball. But before he gets it, a
green-skinned humanoid emerges from the ice nearby…
Episode

Gangat, Glinn, Ryoga, Tim, and Yazbum jr. all arrive. The Dragon Balls are reunited, and Zeno wishes for his daughter
back. The wish is granted, and father,
mother, and daughter are at last reunited.
Meanwhile, Mendou, Tim, and Ryoga take off with the old green man, but
before they can reach the Lookout they are stopped by Piccolo. He explains that this is his
"father," and then proceeds to fuse with the old man. But Piccolo Daimyo's will overrides his
offspring's, and he seizes control! He
is about to annihilate our heroes when Mendou instead blasts him into

reluctantly accepts this as the truth, and goes with Mendou, Ryoga, Tim, Yazbum
jr., and Larry back to Kami's Lookout.
There, Mr. Popo reveals that he already has all but one of Yazbum's
Dragon Balls. He locates the last one,
and sends our heroes to retrieve it.
Our heroes have a confrontation with Megane, Perm and Kakugari, who also
want the last Dragon Ball (to resurrect their friend Perm, who died of a heart
attack). But the gang explains that the

Strikes!": At
precisely the same moment Tim, Ryoga, Yazbum jr., and Larry drop in on Mendou,
Ataru Moroboshi shows up and asks for help.
It seems that Lum and Shinobu have been kidnapped by demons. Ryuunosuke has already agreed to help out,
and Megane, Perm, and Kakugari arrive to lend a hand as well. Cherry pops in and uses a mystical ceremony
to locate Lum and Shinobu, with whom Benten, Ran, and Princess Kurama are also
being held. Our heroes voyage far to
the north to find them, and enter the cave in which Cherry said they are being
held. Demons attack, but Megane, Perm,
and Kakugari stay behind to fight them while the others go on to the main
chamber. There, they find that the
devious Count Lucifer has captured the girls!
Our heroes challenge him, but Tim and Larry are unable to stop him. Mendou frees the girls, then the demons,
having beaten Megane and co., Ryuunosuke and Ryoga fight the demons while
Mendou physically assaults Lucifer.
This causes the demon to drop his guard, and Tim incinerates him with a
Sushi Cutter. The entire group escapes
safely, and once again they each go their separate ways.
The Frosta Saga
Episode
Fifty-Two: "Coliflur's Plea:
Please Save My Baby!": Six
more months have passed since the Lucifer incident. Coliflur crash-lands at the Mendou Estate just as Ryoga is about
to plant some bombs there. Both Mendou
and Ryoga are surprised to find that Coliflur has a baby with her! She says that it's hers, and that Nappa and
Asparaga have teamed up with Freeza's second cousin, Frosta, to steal it from
her. Coliflur needs help, and she wants
our heroes to provide it. Tim, for some
reason sensing that he must be here, arrives as well. While our heroes try to come up with a plan, three Saibamen show
up inquiring about the baby. Mendou
kills one, and Tim the other, but Ryoko saves the last from Ryoga and adopts
it.
Episode
Fifty-Three: "The Plan in
Action! We Must Protect the
Child!": Mendou
sends Ryoko, her Saibaman (Kyodai-chan), and the baby into the Room of Spirit
and Time to keep them safe. Mendou then
recruits Zeno to help against the bad guys, and Tim tries to get Gangat, but he
isn't home. Then our heroes head out to
Yunzabitt Heights, where they plan to meet the Saiyans. Once they arrive, they are surprised to find
Larry there, meditating in the ice! He
offers to take Coliflur to his doctor pal, Dr. Mephisto, and have her tail, which
Zeno still possesses, reattached. She
agrees and they take off. Seconds
later, Meebor and Noklok, now serving Frosta, arrive.
Episode
Fifty-Four: "Opening Bouts! The Thugs Go Down Easy, But Will the
Saiyans?": Our
Heroes make extremely short work of both Meebor and Noklok, then climb up over
the ridge they came from and find a Frieza fleet ship there! Our Heroes then sense the Saiyans
approaching. Nappa and Asparaga land
outside the ship and prepare to go in when Tim leaps down to confront them. But when they show their power, he panics
and blows himself up. Yazbum jr., back
at Kami's, senses this and takes off to find out what happened. Meanwhile, Ryoga sneaks down the hill after
the Saiyans, but Zeno calls attention to him.
The Saiyans quickly annihilate Ryoga.
Zeno plants a time-delayed Kant Cutlass on the hill, then he and Mendou
bury themselves in the snow. As Nappa
come up the hill to investigate, the cutlass explodes, crippling him! Asparaga rushes up to check on him, and
Mendou pops out of the snow and blasts her.
Episode
Fifty-Five: "The Master Villainess
Stands Revealed! But is She Friend or
Foe?!?": Mendou
comes up with a plan to trick Frosta, and after telling Zeno to stall her,
takes off for home. Frosta comes out of
her ship to see what's going on, and finds Zeno. He begins sweet-talking her and pops a sauna out of a
capsule. They step inside, but soon
emerge. Meanwhile, Mendou reaches home
and has his costumers whip up some golden Saiyan armor, a Saiyan wig, and a
cape. He makes sure Coliflur is almost
ready, and asks Mr. Popo to find the Dragon Balls so they can wish Ryoga and
Tim back. He then hops in Coliflur's
pod (still on his estate), and takes off for Yunzabitt again. In the afterlife, Tim and Ryoga come before King
Yemma and beg to learn some new fighting moves since they will probably be
wished back soon. He talks with Kami
about possibly sending them to King Kai.
And on Earth, Mendou reaches Frosta and Zeno. Frosta invites the two of them inside to talk about who the baby
really belongs to.
Episode

½ / Urusei Yatsura All Star Martial Arts Movie One: "Mendou's Self-Confidence Proclamation—I Will Become
Stronger!": While
Coliflur monopolizes his gravity chamber, Mendou decides to go to a nearby
town, Nerima, and get some training from the Tendo Dojo. He arrives and meets Soun Tendo, Genma Saotome,
and Tendo's daughters, Akane, Nabiki, and Kasumi. He also spies Ryoga in pig form.
Ryoga secretly turns back to normal, and joins everyone for dinner while
Mendou tells them of why he is here.
Ryoko arrives as well, to train with her Oniisama. Genma agrees to teach Mendou some of his
fighting techniques, and leads him into the practice hall. Ryoga tags along, hoping to learn some
techniques to use against Ranma. But
Genma doesn't seem to have many useful things to teach them. Eventually, the UY Fighters—Megane, Perm,
Kakugari, and Ryuunosuke—show up. This
inevitably brings Cherry and Mr. Fujinami into the picture. Ranma gets home, and all heck breaks loose. Amidst the chaos, Cheery decrees that
"it is fate."
Ranma
½ / Urusei Yatsura All Star Martial Arts Movie Two: "Attack of the
Shuu-Sama! The Girls are
Possessed!": After
over a month of training with Genma, Mendou and Ryoga have learned how to
"get big." But before Mendou
and Ryoko can depart, Ferret Man arrives!
It seems that he shouldn't have died after all, so King Yemma sent him
back to Earth. Ferret Man is invited to
eat breakfast at the dojo, and Ryoga and Mendou join in. Genma reveals that he has a Gravity Chamber,
but before anyone can see it, the Mendou Communications Satellite Shuu-Chan—now
calling itself Shuu-Sama—returns. The
satellite is now a malevolent entity, and possesses Akane, Nabiki, and
Kasumi. The girls, now with super-human
martial arts powers, attack the men.
Mendou comes up with a plan involving Soun and Genma distracting the
satellite while Ranma attacks it.
Ferret Man and Ryoga, meanwhile, are battling the possessed sister. But unfortunately, Ranma gets wet and is
also possessed by Shuu-Sama. Ferret Man
and Ryoga defeat Nabiki and Kasumi, but Shampoo and Ukyo, also possessed, show
up. While the newcomers attack Ferret
Man, Ranma attacks Ryoga and Mendou attacks Shuu-Sama while avoiding Akane's
blasts. Unfortunately, the satellite
has a force field and seems to be unstoppable.
Mendou goes home to see if he can find Shuu-Sama's kill switch, but all
he locates is Emilio the Lost Squid. He
then returns to the battlefield, but along with Ryoga and Ferret Man, he is
subdued. However, Megane, Kakugari,
Perm, Ryuunosuke, Cherry, and Sakura show up.
The UY Fighters battle Shuu-Sama while Cherry and Sakura try to exorcise
it. The satellite is resistant,
however, until Moroboshi shows up. Told
by Cherry that there is a beautiful maiden inside, Ataru braves the Shuu-Sama's
wrath and rips the satellite open. This
allows the others to destroy its innards, finishing it. Later, Mendou, Ryoga, and Ferret Man come
around to find that a party is going on in the dojo. While everyone celebrates, Ataru chases female Ranma around and
Ryoga collects the parts from Shuu-Chan.
