episode guide

Following are descriptions of the various “episodes” of the RPG campaign that I gamemastered over the summer of 2000, called Dragonball ZUY½.  And no, we didn’t actually play this many sessions… I just broke the sessions up into episodes when I typed this guide to (a.) make it flow like the DBZ anime, and (b.) make it look longer.  Therefore I now present all 89 episodes, 1 TV special, and 5 movies:

The Tenkaichi Budokai Training Saga

Episode One: “Urusei no More!  Meet Shutaro Mendou, Z-Soldier!”:  First (DBZ) appearance of Mendou and his family, as Mendou must save his father from the gangster Lobo Anthrax.  Mendou’s father assigns his son to run around the world then enter the Tenkaichi Budokai.

Episode Two: “The Journey Begins!  Introducing Tim, Sushi Chef Supreme!”:  Mendou reaches the edge of the Southern Island and meets Tim.  Also the first appearance of Larry Mongo, who gives Mendou a Saiyan scouter and joins his journey, and of Lizard King, with whom our heroes have an altercation.  Lizard Lumberjack has his first appearance here, too.

Episode Three:  “In the Land of Lizards—the Mad Scientist Strikes!”:  Mendou and Larry cross through Gohan’s training ground, where they meet Cave Boy and help him save his Cave Family from Professor Arachnus.

Episode Four:  “Western City at Last!  New and Old Allies Appear!”:  Mendou and Larry reach Western City, where they are reunited with Tim and meet Gangat and Zeno.  They help Tim beat Ninja Chef, and band together to train for the Tenkaichi Budokai.  Also, first appearance of Britney Zeno.

Episode Five:  “At the Sonzu Dojo, Reunited With High School Chums”:  Our merry band reaches Sonzu’s dojo, near the Northern Capital.  While Gangat works on constructing a gravity chamber in the gang’s RV, Mendou, Tim, and Zeno spar with Master Sonzu’s students Megane, Kakugari, and Perm.  First appearance of Germ, too.

Episode Six:  “Red Ribbon Reborn… and they want Sonzu!”:  While Zeno, Gangat, and Britney explore the nearby Northern Capital, Mendou, Tim, and Larry try to save Master Sonzu from the Red Ribbon Army and its new leader, Colonel Maroon.

Episode Seven:  “In the Northern Capital, the Possessed Monk Strikes!”:  Now in Northern Capital, our heroes split up.  Mendou and Gangat encounter and fight a monk possessed by a Pokemon known as Haunter.  First appearance of Brother Kazora.

Episode Eight:  “En Route to Eastern City—Revenge Battles Occur!”:  As our heroes continue towards Eastern City, they are attacked by Colonel Maroon and then by Black Ninja, who is out to kill Tim for THE Organization.  They defeat both villains, and Gangat slays Black Ninja.

Episode Nine:  “Monkey Girl From Space!  This Doesn’t Bode Well…”:  As they approach Eastern City, the gang meets the Saiyan Asparaga.  In a great battle, she nearly wipes them out.  Zeno makes plans to defeat her through subterfuge.

Episode Ten:  “Larry’s Our Hero!  The Saiyan Defeated!”:  Larry shows up dressed as Vegeta (thanks to Zeno’s plotting), and somehow manages to tap into some unknown power and defeat Asparaga.  Our heroes are all rushed to the hospital in Eastern City for immediate care.

Episode Eleven:  “Eastern City Hi-jinks With Our Traveling Gang!”:  Our heroes recuperate and explore the city.  They meet Master Thrump, creator of the Life-Ender move.  Gangat beats him in a sparring match.  Our heroes depart to continue their voyage around the world.

Episode Twelve:  “Arrival at Kame House!  But the Invincible Master Isn’t In!”:  Our heroes reach the Kame House, but find that Master Roshi isn’t present.  His turtle says he’s at Capsule Corp.  While Zeno harasses the turtle and Mendou goes to visit his family, Gangat and Tim race to Capsule.  Roshi isn’t there either, but Lizard Lumberjack is.  All our heroes note that the sky is turning black near the area of Korin’s Tower, so they race there.

Episode Thirteen:  “Meet Mr. Popo!  He knows the Score!”:  Our heroes reach Korin’s tower.  The cat explains to them that the Dragon was just summoned, but it’s gone now.  He recommends that the gang go up Kami’s Lookout and find Popo if they want to be trained.  They do, and he agrees to train them.

Episode Fourteen:  “On a Mission for Popo—Finding Two New Trainees!”:  Mendou is sent by Popo to locate two men in a nearby forest.  He finds them—Ryoga Hibiki and the Ferret Man.  After encountering both Lizard King and Germ, the group grabs some Power Bars and heads back to Kami’s.

Episode Fifteen:  “Return to the Lookout!  Mendou’s Drugged Up!”:  Popo dopes up Mendou and has Ryoga and Ferret Man fight him to gauge their powers.  Then he introduces them to Tim, Zeno, Gangat, Britney, and Larry, and starts training them too.

Episode Sixteen:  “The Tournament Approaches… Time to Fight Past Contestants!”:  Popo sends Mendou, Tim, Zeno, and Gangat into the Room of Spirit and Time, where they fight past versions of Chaotzu, Yamcha, Krillin, Tien, and Goku.  This is Popo’s final task for them, and they go their separate ways to train for one more month—Gangat in his gravity chamber, Zeno, Ryoga, and Ferret Man at Kami’s, Tim at Sonzu’s, and Mendou at his home estate in the Mendou Family Gravity Chamber.

Movie One:  “Strongest Under the Heavens!  Here Comes Trouble!”:  The grueling tournament takes place.  There are many rounds, but in the end, one emerges triumphant: Shutaro Mendou!  The mysterious runner-up Shenunga reveals himself to be a Nemekkian.  He abducts Mendou, Tim, Zeno, Gangat, Ryoga, and Ferret Man into space with him to save his planet from invaders!

-End of the Tenkaichi Budokai Saga-

The Outer Space Saga

Episode Seventeen:  “Arrival on the Purple Planet!  Arganora, Here We Are!”:  Our heroes reach Shenunga’s (a.k.a. Yazbum’s) adopted home planet, Arganora.  There, the Namekkian explains that an alien invader has shown up in search of the Dragon Balls that his deceased father had created years ago, and that she had already acquired six of them!  Yazbum leads our heroes to a village, where the final Ball is in the care of one of his friends.  En route, they fight a sea monster, but eventually they arrive.  Just as they do, however, aliens in Saiyan armor named Drog and Alvino show up!

Episode Eighteen:  “The Epic Fight Begins!  And Another Saiyan Shows Up?”:  Our heroes fight against Drog and Alvino, with Mendou blowing Drog up.  Then another Saiyan shows up, named Coliflur.  She says she’s Asparaga’s sister, and that she also wants the Dragon Balls.  She has two more henchmen, Noklok and Meebor.  Zeno and Tim, who had been hiding, launch an attack.  Zeno slices off Coliflur’s tail, and she slams him for it.  Coliflur then attacks Shenunga.

Episode Nineteen:  “Coliflur Versus Shenunga!  The Namekkian’s Last Battle!”:  Coliflur and Shenunga have an all out brawl for the entire episode, while the others have minor skirmishes with Coliflur’s henchmen.

Episode Twenty:  “The Giant Noklok—Invincible Warrior?”:  Our heroes defeat Alvino and Meebor, but have a very hard time with Noklok.  Meanwhile, the last Dragon Ball is surreptitiously stolen by Asparaga, who retreats with it.  Gangat takes off to search for the other balls, and shortly after, the sky blackens not too far away.  Mendou, Ryoga, and Zeno fly there, and they find Asparaga resurrecting her lover Nappa.  Zeno immediately retreats, and Ryoga challenges Nappa.  Coliflur arrives and attacks Asparaga.

Episode Twenty-One:  “Furious Battle!  Feel the Saiyans’ Rage!”:  Tim and Ferret Man defeat Noklok, then swipe the armor from Meebor and Drog’s remains.  Shenunga coughs up an egg, entrusts it to them, and dies.  They hide the egg and go to join the fight with Nappa.  Meanwhile, Ryoga battles Nappa in what appears to be a standoff, and Coliflur and Asparaga have a super fast fight in mid-air.

Episode Twenty-Two:  “The Battle Concludes!  Nappa Defeated?”:  While Ryoga, Tim, and Ferret Man challenge Nappa, Mendou tries to talk Asparaga and Coliflur into helping.  But Asparaga instead goes to aid Nappa.  Coliflur renews her assault on her sister.  Mendou and the others decide to retreat and escape after Coliflur beats Asparaga and challenges Nappa.  They make their way to Coliflur’s ship and talk their way aboard.  Alvino goes to check on Coliflur.  Our heroes leave the planet after collecting the egg, Zeno, and Gangat.  As they enter space, they learn that Meebor and Noklok are aboard the ship.

Episode Twenty-Three:  “Mendou’s Conniving Tricks”:  Mendou tricks Meebor, Noklok, and the ship’s pilot, Gronk, into leaving on escape pods.  Meanwhile, on Arganora, Coliflur defeats Nappa.  But she doesn’t finish him when Alvino shows up and tells of the humans near her ship.  She takes off for the ship, to find that it’s gone.  She steals Asparaga’s space pod and leaves the planet to follow the Earthlings.  Meanwhile, Nappa and Asparaga find themselves stranded on the planet.  Alvino, having been promised by Coliflur that he’ll be rescued, goes into hiding from them.

Episode Twenty-Four:  “Earthbound Heroes Hijacked by the Oni!  Invader Issues a Challenge!”:  Our heroes are sucked into a black hole.  As they pass through it, Shenunga’s egg hatches to reveal his son, Yazbum Jr.  The gang then emerges in Oni space, where they are pulled over and taken to the homeworld.  Gangat and Zeno act really stupid, with Gangat eventually stealing a ship and leaving the planet.  He makes plans, however, to return and save our heroes at the last minute.  Meanwhile, the gang is challenged by Invader to fight him for their right to go free.  They agree, and beat him.  Gangat then shows up, since he wasn’t needed.  Invader realizes that our heroes have been thrown back in time to the day the Oni invaded Earth.  He uses a time machine to send them home, and their ship crash lands in the Southern Hemisphere of Earth.

The MewTwo Saga

Episode Twenty-Five:  “The Mysterious Island!  What Horror Lurks Here?”:  Our heroes find that they have landed on a desert island.  Ryoga was severely injured in the crash, and Yazbum jr. struggles to cure him.  Meanwhile, Mendou senses a great power level across the island.  He, Tim, and Ferret Man go to investigate.  They find Rocket Warrior, a representative of Team Rocket.  After a quick skirmish, Warrior blinds our heroes and escapes towards the volcano on the island.  Meanwhile, Zeno meets a Pokemon trainer named Eddy McMahon.  He attempts to trade Yazbum jr. for Eddy’s Pokemon, but upon seeing Rocket Warrior in the air, he, Gangat, and Eddy go to investigate.  Rocket trounces them handily and enters the volcano.  He is beaten severely within, then the evil MewTwo emerges!

Episode Twenty-Six:  “It’s MewTwo—the Deadliest Pokemon of All!”:  MewTwo assaults our heroes.  Gangat quickly retreats to construct a Master Ball.  Meanwhile, MewTwo takes out all our heroes except for Mendou, who challenges the Pokemon tyrant.  Mendou seems to have the upper hand, until MewTwo Recovers and beats him quickly.  He then soars away from the island.  Gangat slaps his Master Ball together and takes off after MewTwo.  Giovanni arrives and asks our heroes to help him capture MewTwo in exchange for some rare candies and a set of 149 Pokemon.  They agree.

Episode Twenty-Seven:  “MewTwo on the Mainland!  Here Comes Lorelei!”:  While our heroes recuperate, MewTwo reaches Vermilion City and begins wreaking havoc against the public.  The Elite Four arrive in their private jet and Lorelei challenges MewTwo first.  He goes through her Pokemon with little difficulty.

Episode Twenty-Eight:  “Bruno’s Up!  He Weight Trains With His Pokemon!”:  Bruno sics his Pokemon on MewTwo, who plows through them more easily than he did Lorelei’s.  Bruno himself then assaults MewTwo, but he is also beaten down.  Our heroes continue to recover under the ministrations of Team Rocket, while Gangat speeds towards Vermilion City.

Episode Twenty-Nine:  “It’s Agatha’s Turn!  Psychic-type versus Ghost- and Poison-types!”:  Agatha steps up to bat, but her Pokemon also fall to MewTwo’s destructive rage.  Our heroes watch the whole display from Giovanni’s monitor, and their wounds are almost entirely healed.  Gangat senses MewTwo is closer…

Episode Thirty:  “Lance, the Dragon Trainer!  Does MewTwo’s Challenge End With Him?”:  Lance sends out his dragons, who provide MewTwo with the biggest fight so far, but the Pokemon clone succeeds in besting them as well.  Gangat sees Vermilion City in the distance…

Episode Thirty-One:  “Will Gangat’s Master Ball Be Able to Contain the Deadly Pokemon?”:  Gangat finally arrives just as MewTwo finishes off Lance’s last dragon.  Gangat hurls his Master Ball at MewTwo, and the Pokemon appears to be caught.  Meanwhile, the rest of our heroes gobble down their rare candies and find themselves pumped up and ready to go.  But, on Giovanni’s monitor, they see that MewTwo has broken free of the Master Ball, and has… evolved!

Episode Thirty-Two: “Tim Stands Alone!  Has he Got What it Takes?”:  After devouring the rare candies, our heroes reach the scene of the battle.  While Gangat downs his, Tim assaults MewTwo alone.  The fight is furious, but the Pokemon bests Tim, leaving him within an inch of his life.

Episode Thirty-Three:  “Meet MewTwo Stage Two!  The Unstoppable Pokemon Evolution?”:  While Gangat retires to his lab to build a new Ultra Ball and a Mew Decoy, Zeno and Mendou try to hold off MewTwo.  The evil Pokemon is tough, and Zeno soon retreats to Diglett’s Cave.  Mendou also flees, towards Indigo Plateau, and MewTwo follows.

Episode Thirty-Three: “MewTwo Stage Two Times Two!”:  As he pursues Mendou, MewTwo Double Teams and splits into two.  One of him goes after Zeno while the other chases Mendou.  Zeno catches 10 Digletts, distracts MewTwo, and takes off for Mt. Moon.  Mendou also distracts MewTwo, reaches Indigo Plateau, and convinces the Elite Four, now home, to hold off MewTwo when he arrives.

Episode Thirty-Four:  “The End of Magicarp… The Arrival of Gary Oak!”:  Zeno sacrifices his Magicarp to escape from MewTwo, who is still after him.  The other MewTwo reaches Indigo Plateau, and starts fighting all of the Elite Four’s Pokemon at once.  Mendou heads for Pallet Town, recruits Gary Oak, and returns to Indigo Plateau.  Gangat continues working feverishly, but is interrupted by two “businesspeople.”

Episode Thirty-Five:  “Prepare For Trouble!  Make it Double!”:  Jesse, James, and Meowth convince Gangat to let them have his “Mew” when he’s done using it.  Meanwhile, Zeno reaches Mt. Moon, hides from MewTwo, and proceeds to collect 30 Geodudes.  He meets a Team Rocketeer who joins forces with him to find MewTwo.  MewTwo, meanwhile, slays Super Nerd and takes both Pokemon fossils.  The other MewTwo finishes off the Elite Four’s Pokemon, and begins beating on Gary’s.

Episode Thirty-Six:  “MewTwo Captured at Last?!?”:  Zeno uses his new army of Pokemon to knock out MewTwo, who he then captures, but not before MewTwo kills Drew Carey.  Zeno takes Carey’s glasses.  Meanwhile, Mendou also knocks out his MewTwo with a supercharged Troubleshooter.  Mendou heads back to Vermilion City with his prisoner.  Zeno does likewise, also bringing along his Rocket friend, Smith.  They reach Vermilion, where they have an altercation with Jesse, James, and Meowth.  Then they hit the PokeCenter.

Episode Thirty-Seven:  “Rocket Warrior Returns!  MewTwo Evolves… Again?!?”:  Zeno acquires Nurse Joy’s phone number.  Bill shows up too late to help, but gets Zeno’s MewTwo.  Giovanni arrives, to find that no one wants to give him a MewTwo.  Then Rocket Warrior severely beats Officer Jenny and enters the Center.  He manages to free Bill’s MewTwo, who mentally freezes everyone in place, frees Mendou’s MewTwo, and rejoins with it.  Rocket Warrior, in MewTwo’s thrall, gives his master a Dragon Ball.  MewTwo evolves again, attaining his perfect form.  He breaks Gangat’s Mew decoy, and Gangat’s Master Ball fails to contain him.  Then Larry and Britney arrive, reveal that it’s been a year since our heroes vanished, and prepare to fight the Ultimate MewTwo.

Episode Thirty-Eight:  “The Final Battle Begins!  Who Will Live?  Who Will Die?”:  Britney tells the gang that she has learned how to share her power with others, and she begins to power up Mendou, Zeno, Gangat, and the recently arrived Ryoga.  Meanwhile, Larry holds off Rocket Warrior, much to MewTwo’s amusement.  Eventually, however, Rocket Warrior finishes Larry off, knocking him out.  Our heroes have just finished their power up at this time, and prepare to challenge MewTwo himself, if they can get past Rocket Warrior.

Episode Thirty-Nine:  “Rocket Warrior Defeated!  Is MewTwo Next?”:  Gangat defeats Rocket Warrior, and our heroes engage MewTwo.  The Pokemon savagely beats Ryoga, and while MewTwo fights the others, Britney begins using her new power to heal the fallen warrior.  MewTwo catches sight of this and disintegrates Britney.  Our heroes renew their assault on MewTwo, but the Pokemon keeps fending them off, even destroying Gangat’s Mew decoy.

Episode Forty:  “Two New Warriors Are Here!  Keep the Fight Alive!”:  Mendou senses two powers approaching, and races out to meet them.  He finds Master Thrump and his new protégé, Brogue Fenway, who are travelling Pokemon land.  Mendou enlists them to help the fight against MewTwo, and they follow him to the PokeCenter.  There, Thrump wounds MewTwo with his Life Ender move, but KO’s himself too.  Brogue fires off a tremendous Sonononononzu blast at MewTwo, but misses and is KO’d.  All our heroes are too weak to fight, but Zeno has a plan…

Episode Forty-One:  “Mighty Pokemon Battle!  The End is Near!”:  Zeno sends his army of Digletts and Geodudes to fight MewTwo.  They manage to cripple him, and before he can heal, Giovanni emerges from the shadows and sics his NidoKing on the Pokemon tyrant.  The NidoKing scores a one-hit KO, and MewTwo is defeated!  Giovanni tells our heroes that since he was the one who finished MewTwo, he won’t be giving them their 150 Tauroses each.  But they will still get the set of 149 Pokemon to share amongst themselves.  Yazbum jr. shows up and goes to care for Tim, who is still out cold on the pier.

Episode Forty-Two:  “Aftermath of the Bloody Battle… Is Britney Truly Dead?”:  Giovanni departs with MewTwo and Rocket Warrior in custody.  Lt. Surge congratulates our heroes, then turn to leave.  Zeno carries our heroes, who are out of energy.  Mendou returns to his family estate, bringing Larry with him.  Ryoga flies to Kami’s Lookout.  Zeno and Gangat stop at the RV on Papaya Island, where Zeno begins researching the Dragon Balls to see if they can restore his daughter.  Gangat begins constructing a Dragon Radar.

-End of the MewTwo Saga-

Quest For the Dragon Balls Saga

Episode Forty-Three:  “The Quest for the Dragon Balls Begins!”:  Gangat goes to Dr. Briefs at Capsule Corp. to see if his Dragon Radar is up to specs.  It is.  Zeno keeps researching the Dragon Balls.  Ryoga asks Mr. Popo if he can use the Room of Spirit and Time.  Popo says he can in five minutes.  To amuse himself, Ryoga fires an energy blast at the Mendou estate, which deflects it towards the Moroboshi house, annihilating it.  Mendou and Larry go to investigate, and wind up joining Ryoga in the Room of Spirit and Time once Oolong has emerged.  Meanwhile, Gangat finds his first Dragon Ball in Ginger Town, then reports back to Zeno.  They decide to find the Balls together.

Episode Forty-Four:  "Quest Continues!  Mendou, Ryoga, & Larry Emerge…":  Gangat and Zeno travel to Kame House, where they harass the turtle until they notice a Dragon Ball up north.  They head there, and find themselves at Goku's house, where they convince Chi-Chi to let them have the four-star Dragon Ball.  Meanwhile, Ryoga, Mendou, and Larry come out of the Room of Spirit and Time, much stronger than before.  And in the Western City, Tim reaches his Sushi Headquarters to find that his granddaughter now runs it.  He agrees to let her keep this up, and heads to Kami's Lookout to see if the others are there.

Episode Forty-Five:  "Tim Enters the Room While More Dragon Balls Are Uncovered":  Mendou, Ryoga, and Larry leave Kami's Lookout to join the others in their search.  Shortly after their departure, Tim arrives with Yazbum jr. and asks if he can also use the Room of Spirit and Time.  Popo lets both of them in.  Meanwhile, Gangat and set out towards the Eastern City in search of another Dragon Ball.  At the same time, Mendou, Ryoga, and Larry encounter Pilaf, Mai, and Shuu.  They toss them aside and retrieve the Dragon Ball that the trio was after.

Episode Forty-Six:  "Showdown With Gul DaiMon!  He Owns a Big Casino!":  Gangat's and Zeno's Dragon Radar leads them to Gul DaiMon's Conglomerate Headquarters in Eastern City, where they meet the fiend and his new henchmen, Lizard King and Lobo Anthrax.  They challenge our heroes to combat, but instead, Gangat grabs Gul's Dragon Ball and flies away, while Zeno retreats to the lower parts of the building to seek out Gul's wife.  In the Room of Spirit and Time, Tim is training, but Yazbum is having extreme difficulty adjusting to the gravity.  Mendou, Ryoga, and Larry approach Gul DaiMon's building.

Episode Forty-Seven:  "The DaiMon Zord!  Unstoppable Machine of Fury?!?":  Mendou and co. arrive just as Gangat is leaving, and Mendou makes very quick work of Lizard King.  DaiMon and Lobo drag Lizard King into the building, where the three of them hop into their mecha and join together to form the DaiMon Zord, which Mendou also destroys.  The villains give up.  Meanwhile, Zeno makes his way into the depths of the building's dungeon and rescues his lover, Gul DaiMon's wife Glinn.  They escape together and meet up with Ryoga outside.

Episode Forty-Eight:  "The Final Balls Recovered!  Will Our Wishes Come True?":  Night falls, so Zeno, Ryoga, and Glinn locate a hotel to stay in.  Gangat finds a Dragon Ball in a tree, then hits the sack there.  Mendou, who had been headed north towards Yunzabitt Heights for the last ball, spends the night in Northern City.  When morning falls, Tim and Yazbum jr. emerge from the Room of Spirit and Time.  Tim is much stronger, but Yazbum never adjusted to the gravity and is the same.  They head out to find the others, while at the same time Zeno, Ryoga, Glinn, and Gangat all set out for Yunzabitt.  Meanwhile, Mendou reaches Yunzabitt and meets up with Larry, who had driven there.  Mendou knocks out Dr. Arachnus, who is there for some reason, then goes for the last Dragon Ball.  But before he gets it, a green-skinned humanoid emerges from the ice nearby…

Episode Forty-Nine:  "A Wish Made… A God Destroyed!":  Mendou notes that the green man looks much like Kami, so he decides to take him to the Lookout.  As he is about to leave, Zeno, Gangat, Glinn, Ryoga, Tim, and Yazbum jr. all arrive.  The Dragon Balls are reunited, and Zeno wishes for his daughter back.  The wish is granted, and father, mother, and daughter are at last reunited.  Meanwhile, Mendou, Tim, and Ryoga take off with the old green man, but before they can reach the Lookout they are stopped by Piccolo.  He explains that this is his "father," and then proceeds to fuse with the old man.  But Piccolo Daimyo's will overrides his offspring's, and he seizes control!  He is about to annihilate our heroes when Mendou instead blasts him into oblivion.  At the Lookout, Kami vanishes as well.  And far away, young Gohan senses his mentor's death and takes off to avenge him.

Episode Fifty:  "Son Gohan's Burning Wrath!  Trouble for Mendou!":  Gohan shows up, ready to battle Piccolo's killer.  But Mendou manages to convince him that what happened was a accident and that Piccolo was possessed at the time.  Gohan reluctantly accepts this as the truth, and goes with Mendou, Ryoga, Tim, Yazbum jr., and Larry back to Kami's Lookout.  There, Mr. Popo reveals that he already has all but one of Yazbum's Dragon Balls.  He locates the last one, and sends our heroes to retrieve it.  Our heroes have a confrontation with Megane, Perm and Kakugari, who also want the last Dragon Ball (to resurrect their friend Perm, who died of a heart attack).  But the gang explains that the Dragon Balls can't bring back someone who died of natural causes.  So while Megane and co. go off to figure out how to clone Chibi, the group gets the last Dragon Ball.

Episode Fifty-One:  "Dragon Balls Recovered!  Piccolo Lives Again!":  Our heroes return to Kami's Lookout and bring Piccolo and God back to life.  Then the gang goes their separate ways.  Mendou returns to Tomobiki, where his parents inform him that he's being sent to Tomobiki Community College with most of his old classmates, and with Onsen-Mark as a teacher.  Tim and Yazbum jr. set out on a world tour to find the mystical springs into which Ryoga once fell.  Ryoga finally finds his way back home, and Larry heads back to the Seaside Town he calls home.

-End of the Quest for the Dragonballs Saga-

Movie #2:  "Urusei Yatsura All-Star Reunion Special!  The Kidnapper of Alien Girls Strikes!":  At precisely the same moment Tim, Ryoga, Yazbum jr., and Larry drop in on Mendou, Ataru Moroboshi shows up and asks for help.  It seems that Lum and Shinobu have been kidnapped by demons.  Ryuunosuke has already agreed to help out, and Megane, Perm, and Kakugari arrive to lend a hand as well.  Cherry pops in and uses a mystical ceremony to locate Lum and Shinobu, with whom Benten, Ran, and Princess Kurama are also being held.  Our heroes voyage far to the north to find them, and enter the cave in which Cherry said they are being held.  Demons attack, but Megane, Perm, and Kakugari stay behind to fight them while the others go on to the main chamber.  There, they find that the devious Count Lucifer has captured the girls!  Our heroes challenge him, but Tim and Larry are unable to stop him.  Mendou frees the girls, then the demons, having beaten Megane and co., Ryuunosuke and Ryoga fight the demons while Mendou physically assaults Lucifer.  This causes the demon to drop his guard, and Tim incinerates him with a Sushi Cutter.  The entire group escapes safely, and once again they each go their separate ways.

The Frosta Saga

Episode Fifty-Two:  "Coliflur's Plea: Please Save My Baby!":  Six more months have passed since the Lucifer incident.  Coliflur crash-lands at the Mendou Estate just as Ryoga is about to plant some bombs there.  Both Mendou and Ryoga are surprised to find that Coliflur has a baby with her!  She says that it's hers, and that Nappa and Asparaga have teamed up with Freeza's second cousin, Frosta, to steal it from her.  Coliflur needs help, and she wants our heroes to provide it.  Tim, for some reason sensing that he must be here, arrives as well.  While our heroes try to come up with a plan, three Saibamen show up inquiring about the baby.  Mendou kills one, and Tim the other, but Ryoko saves the last from Ryoga and adopts it.

Episode Fifty-Three:  "The Plan in Action!  We Must Protect the Child!":  Mendou sends Ryoko, her Saibaman (Kyodai-chan), and the baby into the Room of Spirit and Time to keep them safe.  Mendou then recruits Zeno to help against the bad guys, and Tim tries to get Gangat, but he isn't home.  Then our heroes head out to Yunzabitt Heights, where they plan to meet the Saiyans.  Once they arrive, they are surprised to find Larry there, meditating in the ice!  He offers to take Coliflur to his doctor pal, Dr. Mephisto, and have her tail, which Zeno still possesses, reattached.  She agrees and they take off.  Seconds later, Meebor and Noklok, now serving Frosta, arrive.

Episode Fifty-Four:  "Opening Bouts!  The Thugs Go Down Easy, But Will the Saiyans?":  Our Heroes make extremely short work of both Meebor and Noklok, then climb up over the ridge they came from and find a Frieza fleet ship there!  Our Heroes then sense the Saiyans approaching.  Nappa and Asparaga land outside the ship and prepare to go in when Tim leaps down to confront them.  But when they show their power, he panics and blows himself up.  Yazbum jr., back at Kami's, senses this and takes off to find out what happened.  Meanwhile, Ryoga sneaks down the hill after the Saiyans, but Zeno calls attention to him.  The Saiyans quickly annihilate Ryoga.  Zeno plants a time-delayed Kant Cutlass on the hill, then he and Mendou bury themselves in the snow.  As Nappa come up the hill to investigate, the cutlass explodes, crippling him!  Asparaga rushes up to check on him, and Mendou pops out of the snow and blasts her.

Episode Fifty-Five:  "The Master Villainess Stands Revealed!  But is She Friend or Foe?!?":  Mendou comes up with a plan to trick Frosta, and after telling Zeno to stall her, takes off for home.  Frosta comes out of her ship to see what's going on, and finds Zeno.  He begins sweet-talking her and pops a sauna out of a capsule.  They step inside, but soon emerge.  Meanwhile, Mendou reaches home and has his costumers whip up some golden Saiyan armor, a Saiyan wig, and a cape.  He makes sure Coliflur is almost ready, and asks Mr. Popo to find the Dragon Balls so they can wish Ryoga and Tim back.  He then hops in Coliflur's pod (still on his estate), and takes off for Yunzabitt again.  In the afterlife, Tim and Ryoga come before King Yemma and beg to learn some new fighting moves since they will probably be wished back soon.  He talks with Kami about possibly sending them to King Kai.  And on Earth, Mendou reaches Frosta and Zeno.  Frosta invites the two of them inside to talk about who the baby really belongs to.

Episode Fifty-Six:  ”While Zeno Stalls Frosta, Mendou gets into Trouble!":  Zeno invites Frosta to the Western Capital to dine with him.  Frosta is hesitant at first, but she decides that he minions can keep Mendou under wraps.  The pair departs for a French restaurant run by a Cajun bum named Pierre.  While Zeno shows Frosta the sights, Mendou subdues all her men, including Meebor, and finds the ship's medical bay.  There he notes that Nappa and Asparaga are both recovering.  And then… Nappa's pod begins to open!

Episode Fifty-Seven:  "Nappa… Super Saiyan?":  As Zeno and Frosta return to the ship, Nappa finds that his beloved Asparaga is dead!  The rage over this and his baby's kidnapping drives him to become a legendary Super Saiyan.  He attacks Mendou, but misses.  Then Larry shows up with Coliflur.  Mendou shows Coliflur the moon orb he acquired in episode 21.  She goes Oozaru and attacks Nappa.  While their battle rages, Zeno explains to Mendou that the baby really does belong to Asparaga and Nappa.  The two heroes begin to form a plan…

Episode Fifty-Eight:  "Violent Battle!  Saiyan vs. Saiyan!":  Coliflur's and Nappa's battle rages for the entire episode, while Mendou and Zeno hatch the rest of their plan.  Zeno is about to go to Kami's Lookout, but Frosta attacks him and tells him to stay until Nappa is done fighting.  Mendou contacts Popo to make sure he has all the Dragon Balls—he has but one left to go.

Episode Fifty-Nine:  "The Baby Recovered!  But What of Asparaga?":  Nappa makes quick work of Coliflur, then returns to Our Heroes, ready to destroy them.  But Mendou says that if he'll wait for a day, they can get him his baby and his lover back.  He says he'll wait for an hour, no more.  Mendou and Zeno race to Kami's Lookout.  There, Kami telepathically lets Mendou talk to Ryoko.  Mendou tells her to open the door and toss the baby out; she can remain inside for the rest of her year.  Ryoko agrees, and the baby is hurled into Mendou's arms.  Mr. Popo returns with the last Dragon Ball, and Mendou and Zeno give him special instructions.

Episode Sixty:  "Popo Makes the Wish!  Peace Returns to Yunzabitt!":  Mendou and Zeno return to Yunzabitt Heights with the baby.  Seeing that one of their promises has come true, Nappa allows them to try for their second.  They contact Mr. Popo, and he wishes that everyone who had died on Yunzabitt Heights that day be restored.  The dragon agrees, and Ryoga, Tim, and Asparaga appear.  While Asparaga is reunited with her mate and child, Frosta tells Our Heroes that this time, she and her Saiyans will leave in peace.  The four of them board the ship and take off.  Then Noklok, who had also been restored, comes over a ridge and greets our heroes.  Coliflur is also there, and until she can find a way off of Earth, she invites herself and Noklok (who is simple-minded enough to side with Coliflur again) to be Mendou's houseguests.

Episode Seventy-Six:  "The Henchmen Strike!  One Dragon Ball Lost!":  Doranot and Lysanor engage our heroes while Necrophyte grabs the Dragon Ball and flies off.  Doranot is destroyed by Zeno, and the three heroes defeat Lysanor, causing him to fly away.  But with one Dragon Ball already out of their grasp, our heroes realize that they must be more careful.  The Namekkians, seeing that our heroes truly are good, vow to spread the word that the Earthlings are good guys.

Episode Seventy-Seven:  "The Search Intensifies!":  Zeno and Sailor Quasar take off for the furthest village, while Mendou, and Ferret Man fly to a closer one.  Meanwhile, in the other group, Gangat promptly flies off in another direction to search alone while Yazbum jr. senses that he must go to a nearby village.  Tim goes with him.  The pair reaches the same village as Mendou and his gang, where Yazbum realizes that he was born.  Our heroes locate the village elder, Muuri, who says that he will fetch the Dragon Ball for them.  While Mendou accompanies him, an evil Namek named Ghurnm shows up in the village, announces that he serves Necrophyte, and demands the Dragon Ball.  Tim and Ferret Man try to fight Ghurnm, but he is too powerful for them.

Episode Seventy-Eight:  "Muuri Reveals Our Hidden Powers!  We Can Do This Thing!":  Tim flies into Muuri's hut and down into his underground lair, where he has just given Mendou the Dragon Ball.  He tells them of Ghurnm, and Mendou flies up to confront the evil Namekkian.  At the same time, Muuri uses his power as Great Elder of the Nameks to unlock Tim's hidden potential.  More powerful than ever, Tim arrives to help Mendou… but finds that he has already apparently atomized Ghurnm with a tremendous energy blast.  With this obstacle out of the way, Muuri unlocks the hidden powers within Mendou and Ferret Man as well.  They all sense a high power at a nearby village and decide to go after it.

Episode Seventy-Nine:  "Rematch With Lysanor!  He's Not So Tough After All!":  Tim and Mendou leave their Dragon Ball in the care of Yazbum Jr., and take off with Ferret Man for the nearby village.  There, they find Lysanor terrorizing the populace in an attempt to acquire a Dragon Ball.  Our heroes gang up on Lysanor and easily defeat him.  Upon his defeat, the villain fades from existence, but not before revealing that Necrophyte is aware of what has just happened.  Our heroes are given the Dragon Ball by the village elder, which Mendou capsulizes and swallows.  They then decide to head back to Muuri's village to work out their next plan.

Episode Eighty:  "Reunited With the Others!  A Plan Finally Conceived!":  Our Heroes reach the village and decide to immediately go out for another Dragon Ball.  They travel to a nearby village, where the elder informs them that the village Dragon Ball has been tossed in a volcano for safekeeping.  Ryoga, Coliflur, and Sailor Pulsar show up, this being the village they were bound for.  Mendou discovers that the lava does not harm the ZUY½ Fighters’ tough skin, but he tells Tim to go in since he has less hair.  Tim and his Magmar swim around in the lava, find the Ball, and emerge triumphantly.  But as soon as Tim holds it up high for all to see, Necrophyte appears and yoinks it from his grasp.

Episode Eighty-One:  “Double Trouble Arrives!  Necrophyte and Ghurnm!”:  Coliflur immediately engages Necrophyte in combat.  The rest of our heroes fight Ghurnm, who Mendou accidentally pulps.  They just leave him there.  Meanwhile, Necrophyte escapes with a swirl of his cape.  The score: ZUY½ Fighters 1, Necrophyte 3.  Our Heroes go back to Muuri’s village.

Episode Eighty-Two:  “Training With Coliflur!  Oh, the Humanity!”:  Ryoga is disheartened to learn that Muuri’s power up will not work on a Jusenkyo cursed person.  Nonetheless, he perseveres.  Muuri gifts him with a set of Namekkian weighted clothing.  Meanwhile, Sailor Pulsar is dispatched to another village because she repulses our heroes.  Mendou, Tim,  and Ryoga are challenged by Coliflur to a mock-sparring-duel thing.  She wipes up the floor with them.

Episode Eighty-Three:  “The Secret Technique Revealed!  Fusion Ha!”:  Three Namekkian warriors, Rod, Lug, and Snuh, teach the Fusion Dance to Mendou, Tim, Ryoga, and Ferret Man.  Mendou and Tim try it and mess it up.  Afterwards, Muuri trains our heroes to use their ki sensing powers to home their attacks better.  Meanwhile, Zeno arrives with an unconscious Britney and Sailor Quasar.  He reports that Necrophyte got there before them and took the Dragon Ball.  Muuri brings Zeno inside to power him up while the others journey to yet another village.  There, they encounter a crazy Elder who plans on escaping the planet in a spaceship and voyaging to Yardarat.  Before our heroes can get the Dragon Ball from him, Necrophyte shows up and attacks.

Episode Eighty-Four:  “ZUY½ Fighters Unite!  Defeat Your Dark Sides!”:  Necrophyte uses his evil energies to create the dark opposites of our heroes.  Mendou destroys Tim’s dark side.  Tim and Ferret Man team up to defeat Ferret Man’s dark side.  Mendou lures his dark side into a cave, where it has no room to maneuver, and he destroys it.  Ferret Man wipes out his Ferret’s dark side, then jumps on board the elder’s spaceship.  They take off.

Episode Eighty-Five:  “The Seventh Dragon Ball!  Don’t Be Late!”:  Necrophyte acquires the village’s Dragon Ball.  Meanwhile, Ryoga somehow beats his dark side, and Coliflur eventually defeats hers.  Mendou busts out the moon sphere, and Coliflur goes Oozaru.  While she is transforming, Ryoga, Mendou, and Tim try to occupy Necrophyte.  He beats them all down, and is about to destroy Ryoga…

Episode Eighty-Six:  “The Final Battle!  Necrophyte the Unstoppable?”:  Necrophyte fires off a great blast at Ryoga, but it is deflected by another blast from someplace else.  As the Emperor’s theme starts to play, Gangat shows himself!  But he is now half-Namekkian.  In flashback form, he details how he arrived at a village to find that it had been leveled.  Necrophyte was there, and beat Gangat to within an inch of his life.  Necrophyte left, assuming Gangat would die on his own.  But a Namekkian saw the whole thing and decided to fuse with Gangat somehow, thus forming the first… Humekkian.  Now, Gangat is ready to destroy Necrophyte!

Episode Eighty-Seven:  “Humekkian Versus Negaversian!  A Battle For the Ages?”:  Necrophyte blasts Gangat’s leg off.  Gangat is taken aback by his vulnerability, but he manages to grow the leg back using his new powers.  However, he realizes that he can’t do much against Necrophyte.  However, this has bought Ryoga enough of a chance to land a semi-mighty blow against Necrophyte, sending him flying.  The direction of his flight happens to take him to Coliflur, who slaps him so hard that he explodes!  Meanwhile, Ghurnm arrives at Muuri’s village…

Episode Eighty-Eight:  “Necrophyte Defeated!  But One Threat Remains…”:  At Muuri’s village, Ghurnm roughs up Yazbum jr. and takes his Dragon Ball.  Zeno and the Sailor Scouts are still inside, so they don’t catch on to this.  Ghurnm escapes just before our battle-weary heroes show up.  Yazbum explains to them what happened, but they are confident that Ghurnm cannot do anything without the seventh ball, in Mendou’s belly.  But no sooner have they voiced their reassurances, than the sky turns black!  Our heroes take off to investigate, joined by Dende, Yazbum jr., Zeno, Britney, and the Sailor Scouts.

Episode Eighty-Nine:  “Porunga Summoned!  What is Ghurnm’s Wish?”:  Our heroes arrive to find that Ghurnm was just luring them with a hologram projector.  But now that Mendou is present, and Ghurnm has the other six balls, he invokes the password to summon Porunga.  The dragon appears, and Ghurnm wishes for a female clone of himself to be his queen.  She appears naked, and is christened Slyme.  Then Mendou assaults Ghurnm, pulping him again.  The Namekkian is about to regrow himself once more, but Mendou annihilates the entire area, killing everyone except for Slyme, Gangat, and Zeno.  Slyme surrenders, and the Dragon awaits the next two wishes…

Episode Eighty-Nine:  “Two More Wishes… Gangat is Self Centered!”: Gangat, with his newfound knowledge of the Namekkian language, wishes to become a full Namekkian.  This happens.  Then he wishes back all the good people killed that day.  They reappear, none the worse for wear.  Rod, Snuh, and Lug take Slyme into custody.  The Sailor Scouts thank our heroes for their help, as do the Namekkians.  The next day, Sailor Pulsar teleports all of them home.  On Earth, the Sailor Scouts bid our heroes farewell and leave.  Everyone goes back to his or her everyday business, and the saga of the ZUY½ fighters reaches its temporary conclusion…
