Powers: Bembu and Oysta are proficient with the use of their ki, and they can use it to fly, project energy blasts, and sense others’ fighting power. Their sole named attack is called the Double Blast, which is simply an energy blast from each sister, joining in flight to become a much larger, devastating attack.
Background: The Saiyan twins Bembu and Oysta were born to Unjun, Hozrados’s loyal advisor on the planet of the Saiyan settlers. They grew up in relative safety there, and were a year below Melonia’s class in the local school when the Been Team awakened. They weren’t involved in the struggle against those warriors, but shortly after the settlers relocated to Planet Skwash, they decided they wanted to learn more about their warrior heritage. Under the tutelage of Nappa and other Saiyan instructors, Bembu, Oysta, and a few others learned Saiyan combat techniques and how to exploit their ki in battle. It became quickly evident to their teachers that Bembu and Oysta were at the top of their class—they were naturals when it came to learning combat techniques. This made them prime candidates for a special undercover mission Kiwi had in mind.
It seemed that someone was taking up Freeza’s mantle in the outer rim of the galaxy, spreading fear and distrust in his wake, recruiting various sinister ne’er-do-wells for his cause. Kiwi wanted a couple of disgruntled Saiyans to show interest in this villain’s cause, and Bembu and Oysta had the power he required. The young Saiyans jumped at the chance to prove themselves, and set out with Melakka and a security troop named Bluberi to locate this new threat. They eventually found him in the person of Captain Ginyu, one-time leader of the powerful Ginyu Force. Ginyu was forming a new Ginyu Force, and he recruited Bembu and Oysta to join his cause, alongside wandering villains Alvino and Shi-Nya. As soon as they joined, the Saiyan twins had their powers magically augmented by Ginyu’s right-hand man, Majin Kazam. Bembu and Oysta then served Ginyu until he attacked Coliflur on planet Namek… at which point they showed their true colors and turned on the villains.
Bembu and Oysta later battled Nappa, possessed by Kazam, on planet Skwash. They were severely injured in the battle, but soon recovered and took a trip to Earth to visit Melonia, and wound up racing against the newly-reborn Red Ribbon Army to collect the Earth's Dragonballs.
With regards to their appearances—Bembu is the one with the hair spike, and Oysta is the one without the spike. Some of the pictures elsewhere on this site may make it seem otherwise (mainly because I have trouble recalling which is which myself), but what’s said here is the absolute truth. Another way to tell them apart in the Ginyu stories is through their personalities: Bembu is the more aggressive of the two, always ready for action and sometimes a bit reckless. Oysta, while no less a warrior than her sister, is somewhat more passive in her approach to battle. She’ll fight to defend herself or her friends, but she doesn’t go looking for trouble as much as Bembu.
