Powers: None of the Ginyu Force support staff possess any ki-related abilities. Their natural talents are as follows: Gong is an extremely gifted pilot. Ding is... well, at least she’s pretty. Ring is a master marksman and demolitions expert, and possesses a high degree of martial arts training (though it’s nothing special when compared with the people he hangs around with). Mesa is a shrewd tactician and brawls like nobody’s business. Melakka is a brilliant scientist, particularly in the fields of biology and cybernetics.
Background: Just like most members of the new Ginyu Force, their support staffers are atoning for past sins. Mesa, Melakka, Gong, Ding, and Ring all served Freeza during his reign, though they didn’t all do it with blind obedience. In fact, after the tyrant died on Earth, many of his followers revealed their benevolent natures -- they had only served him out of fear for their lives. Thus, when Coliflur came calling and offered the henchmen of Freeza Planet 79 a chance to do some good for a change, these five were among the first to agree. And when Melakka, a highly respected member of Freeza’s organization, switched sides, many others followed. Since then, most of the former Planet 79 staff have served the Ginyu Force admirably, particularly these five, who work most closely with the Ginyu Force. It was Melakka who spearheaded the terraforming of the planet, and therefore made it habitable for the Saiyan settlers who eventually moved there. All the members of the support staff like their jobs much more now than they did while Freeza was in charge, and they are all ready to serve the Ginyu Force whenever needed.
