Paul Dunbar (0-0) vs. Bryan Station (0-0)  August 27, 1999

Mike Meighan, the head coach at Paul Dunbar, could not have dreamed that his team would score 46 points against Bryan Station and still lose by 28.  Coach Meighan realized that he was going into the game short-handed due to injuries and suspensions, but Coach John Nochta's Defenders lit up the scoreboard for a 74-46 victory.  Marquis Johnson returned the opening kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown beginning a long series of offensive highlights.

Bryan Station was led by Eric Shelton, a 6-3 235 point Jr. running back with power and speed who ran for 251 yards and 5 touchdowns.  He also had a 65 yard TD run called back on a penalty.  J.T. Haskins did a masterful job of directing the Bryan Station offense and his brother Robert Haskins had over 150 yards in total offense.  Paul Dunbar was led by QB Chip Franklin, who threw for 302 yards and four touchdowns. Leon Mack hauled in five receptions for 191 yards and three scores.

The teams combined for over 1200 yards in the game with 18 touchdowns.  Bryan Station was in front by a score of 54-33 at the end of the first half.   Paul Dunbar , to their credit, continued to fight, but at least on this night there was just too much Eric Shelton and the rest of the Bryan Station Defenders.
