Louisville Eastern (3-7) vs. Bryan Station (9-1) November 5, 1999

It was obvious to all that Eastern would have to play error free ball and somehow contain the Bryan Station option attack.  Bryan Station had scored 444 points for the year while Eastern had managed only 84 points.  Bryan Station appeared to be a bit sluggish early; perhaps emotionally drained after their big win over Henry Clay last week.  A young Eastern team came out and played aggressively, appearing to key on Bryan Station's outstanding tailback Eric Shelton and managed to hold him in check for most of the game.

Bryan Station's superior speed came to the forefront in the second quarter, as Greg Shiddell raced 57 yards for a TD to make the score 14-0.  Less than a minute later, J.T. Haskins returned an interception 70 yards for another score.  Haskins then hit the explosive Marquis Johnson in full stride for a 68 yard TD reception, making the score 27-0 at halftime.  The game was effectively over at this point and Bryan Station went on to post a 41-8 win to improve their record to 10-1.  Bryan Station will be at home next week to host Fern Creek in a second round game.
