Woodford County recovered a fumble in the endzone with less than 30 seconds remaining in the game to preserve a 24-17 victory over Bryan Station. Bryan Station had a first-and-goal from the three but QB Brady Boling ran to near the goal line but was hit and fumbled the ball. Woodford County recovered the ball in the endzone.
Bryan Station took a 10-0 lead in the second quarter but turnovers led to 24 Woodford County points over the next two quarters, giving the Yellowjackets a 24-10 lead. Bryan Station cut the deficit to seven, 24-17, on a 55 yard interception return by Earl McCann and a conversion kick by Jose Marin. However, Woodford County's late defensive stand ended the dreams of a comeback victory.
Woodford County recorded 13 first downs and 269 yards of total offense. The Yellowjackets were penalized six times for 84 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted. Bryan Station had 16 first downs and 335 yards of total offense. The Defenders were penalized seven times for 67 yards, lost three fumbles, and had three passes intercepted.
Steve Duckworth led Woodford County's ground attack with 76 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries. Duckworth completed 22 of 35 passes for 213 yards and a TD with one interception. Chris Jones caught five passes for 39 yards and a touchdown. Jordan Carter added four receptions for 60 yards. Colin Smith led the Yellowjacket defense with eight solo tackles. David Bland added seven solo and one assisted tackles.
Patrick Cornett led Bryan Station's ground game with 130 yards and one touchdown on 23 carries. Brady Boling completed 11 of 21 passes for 145 yards with two interceptions. Chaz Mitchell caught three passes for 23 yards. Tevin McCaden added two receptions for 67 yards. Kris Bolton led the Defender defense with six solo and four assisted tackles. Isaiah Davis added five solo tackles.
