Lafayette QB Logan Bunch connected with Eric Shaw for two TD passes in the first quarter on their way to a 28-12 victory over Franklin County. The Flyers responded with two TDs in the second quarter but failed on both conversion attempts and trailed 14-12 at halftime. It was all Lafayette in the second half as they scored 14 unanswered points.
Lafayette recorded 16 first downs and 267 yards of total offense. The Generals were penalized six times for 43 yards and had four passes intercepted. Franklin County had 15 first downs and 218 yards of total offense. The Flyers were penalized five times for 45 yards lost a fumbles, and had one pass intercepted.
Tommy Gifford led the Lafayette ground game with 29 yards on four carries. Logan Bunch completed 18 of 28 passes for 217 yards and with two touchdowns and three interceptions. Eric Shaw caught eight passes for 101 yards and two touchdowns. Tommy Gifford added seven receptions for 78 yards. Gifford also added 79 yards on five punt returns and 71 yards on two kickoff returns. Jordan Petit led the Lafayette defense with eight solo and one assisted tackles and a fumble recovery. Matt Green added five solo and one assisted tackles.
Soph QB Sean Thompson led the Franklin County ground attack with 103 yards and a TD on 24 carries. Thompson completed 17 of 40 passes for 116 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Deron Hicks caught eight passes for 58 yards. Jimmy Barnett led the defense with eight solo and one assisted tackles. Five of Barnett's tackles resulted in losses totallling 19 yards. William Smither added four solo tackles for losses totalling 13 yards. Jeremy Gardner recorded three solo and one assisted tackles and added two interceptions with return yardage of 52 yards.
