Henry Clay (10-1) vs. Trinity (10-2)

Henry Clay took a 7-0 lead but Trinity exploded for 50 consecutive points in a 50-14 victory.  This was the third straight year that Trinity has defeated Henry Clay in the playoffs.  QB Will Stein threw for six touchdowns tonight, giving him a school record 48 TDs for the year.  The previous record of 47 was set by Brian Brohm.  The Dutton twins, Alex and Nathan combined for 12 receptions for 306 yards and five touchdowns.

Trinity recorded 29 first downs and 551 yards of total offense.  The Shamrocks were penalized five times for 28 yards and lost a fumble.  Henry Clay had 24 first downs and 440 yards of total offense.  The Blue Devils were penalized 10 times for 75 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted. 

Tim Phillips led Trinity's ground game with 100 yards and a TD on 24 carries.  Will Stein completed 17 of 24 passes for 345 yards and six touchdowns.  Alex Dutton caught seven passes for 174 yards and two touchdowns.  Nathan Dutton added five receptions for 132 yards and three touchdowns.  Wes Weitlauf led the defense with 11 solo and two assisted tackles.  Brock Messina added seven solo and one assisted tackles.  Messina also recovered a fumble and intercepted a pass.

Dontey Gay led the Henry Clay's ground game with 180 yards on 19 carries.  Ryan Phillippi added 56 yards and one touchdown on 13 carries.  Phillippi completed 19 of 37 passes for 270 yards with one TD and one interception.  Dontey Gay caught six passes for 83 yards and a TD.  Aaron Boyd added four receptions for 73 yards.  Jacob Bell and Dontey Gay led the defense as each recorded five solo and two assisted tackles.  Brendan Kelly recorded five solo tackles and recovered a fumble.
