**The game was suspended midway through the thrid quarter due to lightning with Woodford County leading 27-17.  The game resumed Monday evening at Henry Clay High School.

The Woodford County Yellowjackets have been led this year by QB Trenton Fields, who has completed 48 of 98 passes for 1076 yards with 13 touchdowns and five interceptions.  Shawnie Lewis has caught 21 passes for 552 yards with six TDs.  Lamar Raglin has led the ground attack with 257 yards and three touchdowns on 36 carries.  The Yellowjackets have averaged 30.8 ppg and the defense has given up 8.2 ppg.  Woodford County defeated Lafayette by a score of 21-17 last season.

Lafayette has a chance tonight to improve their record to 6-0 for the first time since 1963.  QB Logan Bunch has completed 67 of 118 passes for 1065 yards with 14 touchdowns and seven interceptions.  Chris Tune has caught 25 passes for 448 yards and six touchdowns.  Tommy Gifford added 17 receptions for 349 yards and four touchdowns.  Corey Layman has carried the ball 59 times for 375 yards and two touchdowns.  Tommy Gifford, Demetrius Mitchell, and Chris Tune have recorded four, three, and three interceptions respectively.  The Generals have averaged 32 ppg and the defense has given up 15.4 ppg. 

Lafayette overcame a 27-14 deficit to defeat Woodford County 31-27.  The winning TD came on an 88 yard punt return by Demetrius Mitchell on the last play of the third quarter.  The Lafayette defense came up with two key fourth-and-one defensive stops in the final period to ensure the victory.

Woodford County appeared to have the game in control after Sean Sobolewski returned an interception 74 yards to help give the Yellowjackets a 27-14 lead with 10:33 remaining in the third quarter.  Lafayette's Jake Stephens cut the deficit to 10, 27-17, with a 32 yard field goal with 9:15 remaining in the third quarter.  The game was suspended midway through the third quarter with Lafayette on the Woodford County 14 yard line.  Once play resumed, a Corey Layman nine yard TD run and a conversion kick by Jake Stephens narrowed the margin to three, 27-24, with 5:02 remaining in the quarter.  On the last play of the quarter, Lafayette's Demetrius Mitchell took a punt at his 12 and returned it 88 yards for what proved to be the winning TD.

Lafayette recorded 14 first downs and 349 yards for the game.  The Generals lost a fumble, had a pass intercepted, and were penalized six times for 65 yards.  Woodford County had 22 first downs and 314 yards of total offense.  The Yellowjackets were penalized eight times for 54 yards. 

Ty Stephenson led the Lafayette ground game with 83 yards on six carries.  Logan Bunch completed 15 of 25 passes for 213 yards with two touchdowns and one interception.  Chris Tune caught seven passes for 55 yards and a touchdown.  Tommy Gifford had four receptions for 80 yards.  Stephenson led the Lafayette defense with six solo and one assisted tackles including 4.5 tackles for losses totalling 17 yards.  Robbie Jackson added added six solo and one assisted tackles, and Trey Shaftner recorded four solo and four assisted tackles.

Lamar Raglin led the Woodford County ground game with 36 yards on 11 carries.  Trenton Fields completed 24 of 43 passes for 283 yards and three touchdowns.  Jamaal Pickens caught seven passes for 96 yards and a TD.  Shawnie Lewis added seven receptions for 66 yards and two TDs.  Wayne Hanley led the Yellowjacket defense with six solo and two assisted tackles with three of the tackles being for losses totalling eight yards.  Steve Duckworth added five solo tackles.
