Lexington Catholic (1-1) vs. Franklin County (3-0) September 15, 2006

Lexington Catholic has been led this year by QB Tyler Hancock who has a trio of talented receivers in Wes Caldwell, Ben Revere, and Winston Guy.  RB Shane Israel has led the ground attack.

Franklin County QB Kaelin Ammons has completed 63 of 98 passes for 1047 yards and nine touchdowns, and added 304 yards and eight TDs on the ground.  His favorite targets have been Demetrius Hicks and Larry Taylor.

Lexington Catholic utilized some big special team plays to offset an outstanding perfomance by Franklin County QB Kaelin Ammons in a 38-35 victory.  Ben Revere finally gave Lexington Catholic the lead for good with a dazzling 75 yard ount return in the third quarter to give the Knights a 31-28 lead.  The teams swapped TDs to make the score 38-35 but Franklin County could not move the ball in the last possession.

Lexington Catholic had 17 first downs and 381 yards of total offense.  The Knights lost a fumble, had a pass intercepted, and were penalized 10 times for 65 yards.  Franklin County recorded 21 first downs and 421 yards of total offense.  The Flyers had two passes intercepted and were penalized six times for 41 yards. 

Shane Israel led the Lexington Catholic gound game with 120 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries.  Tyler Hancock completed 22 of 33 passes for 271 yards with one touchdown and one interception.  Wes Caldwell had nine receptions for 112 yards.  Ben Revere added eight receptions for 99 yards with a TD and Shane Israel recorded four receptions for 61 yards.  Winston Guy and Ben Revere led the Knight defense with six solo each.  Revere also intercepted a pass.  Jacob Locknane added five solo and two assisted tackles.

Kaelin Ammons led the Flyer's ground game with 45 yards on 17 carries.  Larry Taylor added 36 yards on four carries.  Ammons completed 20 of 43 passes for 330 yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions.  Demetrius Hicks caught four passes for 82 yards.  DeRon Hicks added four receptions for 75 yards with a TD.  Kevin Styles also caught four passes for 31 yards.  Chris Hogan caught three passes for 83 yards with two touchdowns.  Gabe Jones added three receptions for 34 yards and a TD.  Ammons led the defense with six solo, two assisted tackles, and an interception.  Demetrius Hicks added five solo tackles and one assisted tackles and DeRon Hicks recorded five solo tackles.
