Whitley County (4-6) vs. Henry Clay (9-1) November 4, 2005

LaDale Rider has led Whitley County's ground game with 1345 yards and 16 touchdowns in just nine games.  The Colonels made the playoffs this year by scoring a TD and two point conversion with less than a minute left in the game to edge North Laurel 22-21.

Henry Clay has used a balanced offense this season to rollup nine victories in 10 outings.  QB Salin Simpson has completed 126 of 193 passes for 1780 yards and 19 touchdowns.  Simpson has also rushed for 511 yards and seven touchdowns.  Rod Johnson led the Blue Devils' ground game with 1453 yards and 22 touchdowns.  Clark Jeter has 32 receptions for 682 yards with six TDs. 

Henry Clay finally returned home after an extensive construction project and christened their new home with a 48-6 victory over Whitley County.  The Blue Devils settled the issue early with a 28-0 first quarter barrage.  Whitley County didn't have an answer for Salin Simpson tonight as he shredded their defense with 314 yards and five touchdowns through the air.

Henry Clay held a 470-142 yard advantage on total offense and a 21-11 margin in first downs.  Henry Clay didn't suffer any turnovers tonight and was penalized seven times for 59 yards.  Whitley County lost one fumble and was penalized four times for 25 yards.  Henry Clay averaged 8.5 yards per play on 55 offensive plays while Whitley County only managed 2.5 yards per play.

Rod Johnson led the Henry Clay ground game with 101 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries.  Salin Simpson completed 22 of 34 passes for 314 yards with five touchdowns.  Clark Jeter caught seven passes for 125 yards with two scores.  Aaron Boyd caught five passes for 69 yards while Sam Gardner added five receptions for 60 yards with two touchdowns.  Ryan Breen led the defense with six solo and four assisted tackles.  Jermaine Birch added five solo and one assisted tackles including 2.5 tackles for losses.

Cody Jeffries led the Whitley County ground game with 87 yards and a TD on 17 carries.  LaDale Rider added 37 yards on 19 carries.  Jordan McCumbers completed four of 16 passes for 34 yards.  Shawn Baird had two receptions for 28 yards.  Mark Teague paced the defense with three solo and three assisted tackles.  Cody Jones added five solo tackles.
